La Marine de Loire Hotel & Spa

Just returning home from another (perhaps our 4th or 5th trip) thoroughly enjoyable couple of days here. Lovely, helpful staff as always. Exceptionally clean rooms with beautiful linens. We enjoyed time by the pool and using the spa facilities. The Sunday brunch was amazing as was breakfast. Looking forward to our next visit!

We checked into this hotel in September right on the banks of the Loire in Monstoreau. We were warmly welcomed by Victor and allocated a beautiful room to the front of the house and overlooking the river. We worried as this was on the road it would be noisy but it was peaceful with excellent glazing and we slept peacefully in a beautifully comfortable bed. The bathroom with separate toilet was big, plenty of space for everything. Breakfast was plentiful, and delicious, they do not have a restaurant, but there are a number in the surrounding area which are listed in the room. Their Wellness area is here is one the best I’ve ever experienced, the calmness of the Hammam, indoor pool/jacuzzi, sauna and steam room just made a calm day even more calm. Outside the wellness area are lovely gardens for a glass of wine, cup of tea/coffee in complete peace. We wanted to stay another night but, alas there was no room!! There was a festival in Saumur just a few kilometres away and it was such fun, tasty nibbles and wine-tasting + crafts and even choirs, not to mention boat trips on the traditional boats of the area. An excellent market took place in the village square on the Saturday. I could count on the fingers of one hand the amount of hotels to which I would return in France and this is one of them….we look forward to visiting again. Thank you to the whole team for the welcome and friendliness. We arrived as guests and we left as friends.

Stayed here for two nights whilst cycling in the Loire Valley. Beautiful room overlooking the garden, lovely swimming pool, great breakfast, great location and good bike parking. Special mention must go to the gentleman who checked us in at reception-he couldn’t have been more accommodating-an exceptional member of staff-I think his name was Victor.

We spent two nights here on our cycling tour of the Loire with our two children. Perfect suite where they had twin beds in a separate room. Plus they loved the pool after a day's cycling. The staff were super accommodating, providing dinner in the garden when all the local restaurants were booked up. Would love to return.

Excellent hotel in the beautiful town of Montsoreau. Stayed 5 nights in 3 different apar**ents (for reasons not the fault of the hotel): each one has its own signature decor which we loved. Well-provisioned kitchenettes, beautiful bathrooms and very comfy king-size beds. Staff are consummate professionals and Caroline, the owner, went above and beyond to resolve an issue due to the bakery next door. She is amazing! Pool and garden is fabulous - perfect spot to relax and cool down after sightseeing. Cannot recommend this charming hotel (or its staff) highly enough.

Just perfect. Very caring and dedicated staff. Design and Layout of the Hotel are interesting and rare. A total gem. The breakfast was various and fresh. Went for a visit to Tours and Orleans. Both cities worth seeing.

BEAUTIFUL hotel, well decorated, comfortable suite. The sauna/pool is a welcomed bonus after a long bike ride. Breakfast is well rounded and delicious, the staff are friendly and attentive. They have a locked storage area for bicycles.

We (family of 2 adults, 2 teenagers) had a fantastic stay overall at La Marine. The hotel and apar**ents are beautifully decorated with sublime taste and quirky features. The pool is perfect to cool down after a hot day's sight-seeing, although it can get very busy if everyone is there at the same time. We'd booked for 5 nights and had to change apar**ents (from Cyclades) due to a low-pitch machine noise from the next-door bakery (that only I could hear so no else was affected!) but Caroline, the owner, went above and beyond to resolve issues and was kindness personified. We stayed 2 nights in no.3 (view over the river - perfect - although some might not like being by the road but you cannot hear a sound if you shut the double-glazed windows so it did not bother us) and 2 nights in Belle Etoile (duplex with 2 loos!). It was fun to try out these 3 apar**ents, each with their own style. They are all immaculately clean, have well-provisioned kitchenettes and beautiful bathrooms. No air-con but the fans were fine even in this heat. I would say the single beds for our teenagers were not as comfortable as they are used to but, for younger (lighter) children, it would not be an issue. The pool area and gardens are a delight and you can use the hotel facilities (breakfast costs extra but it's worth it to eat in there) and order drinks from the staff who will deliver wherever you are in the hotel! The staff are complete professionals, always smiling and helpful. Thank you!
