We booked this resort after reading positive online reviews. This is a classic case of "don’t judge a book by its cover." Upon arrival, we were a little concerned by the external appearance, but the staff was nice and we took a breath and forged ahead. We got our room keys - real keys, not plastic cards - and headed to the room.
Though we’d seen internal pics and expected it to be nice, we were surprisingly happy with the remodeled space. All of the rooms in our building have evidently been remodeled and they’re very nice, bright and accommodating. They all have great views of the ocean and it’s about a 5 minute walk or so down stairs at the resort.
Dinner at the restaurant was outstanding. I told the chef that the Scallops w/Coconut Curry topped with Asian slaw was probably the best scallops I’ve ever had. I pray they’re never taken off the menu because I’ll make the drive back again just for that dish!
Everything wasn’t perfect (is it ever?)…the bad:
1. The Kourig machine in our room was temperamental and barely worked. You’d have to try about 6-7 times for every cup of coffee to brew.
2. This is a me thing, but each Queen bed had only 3 pillows and I would’ve liked more.
3. Minor handyman fixes needed, like the bathroom door handle was a little "jiggly." It worked, but it’s still a thing. The resort would benefit from having someone pass thru all the rooms and touch-up these types of things.
All-in-all, will be back (probably repeatedly). Very happy!
