This hotel is situated just one road up and behind where essentially the main road of Luang Prabang, (Sisavangvong Road), is located. It’s here that most of the big name temples are located up and down this road, along with many cafes, restaurants, and tour booking companies are located. Then just one street down from the hotel, is Khem Kong Street. This is the street that faces the Mekong River to the north, and it’s along this area that you can easily walk from the hotel to get to the numerous tour boat companies if you wish to do a sunset cruise (which I would certainly suggest doing). Anyways, for the hotel, for some reason, I only received breakfast on the first morning (but maybe it’s only served from certain times and I just didn’t know or missed it?) Another con was that there was only 1 toilet paper roll that was placed in my room the entire stay I was there. Luckily, I always bring another spare one since I was actually a little sick during my stay, and had a stuffed nose and was sneezing a bit too. One more thing that you may have to get used to, was the fact that on the very street that the hotel is located on, there’s the daily morning market that sets up at about 5:30 right outside the hotel. Thus, you may be awoken a little early in the morning sometimes by sellers that are beginning to set up for the morning’s sales. The room itself was nice though, and had enough blankets and sheets to keep me warm once the nights came and it did get cool at that time. * Make sure to ask for the wifi password on the ground floor. The password that was printed on a paper and stuck on the fridge in my room did not work. There’s also a small fridge and you can keep drinks and any food that you buy when you’re traveling around in it for a day’s (or next day’s) consumption. There’s also a safe if you want to keep your personal belongings in, and there’s a hot water heater in the bathroom since again, it does get cool here at times. Everything about this place was very clean though and again, I think besides some of the smaller cons I’ve described, it was fairly decent hotel to stay at while you’re visiting in LP.
