My daughter stayed in this hotel overnight as she had to take the Eurostar the next day from St. Pancras so it was very conveniently situated. However she didn't sleep at all due to feeling that the place was very dodgy as well as being dirty. The receptionist announced her room number to the whole reception area, so anyone knew which room this single girl was going to be in - total lack of discretion and frankly not okay these days. She walked towards the rooms and discovered a man in his underwear wandering around the corridors.... Seriously?! The room itself was horrendous. First of all it was in the basement. The door barely locked at all from the outside and from the inside of the room there was no way of locking it. No dead bolt, no chain, nothing. The bathroom smelt like someone had just used it and the light was still on. The towels were yellowing and everything was damp. There was also a door in the bathroom which led outside and again, no way of locking this door from the inside. The walls and glass in the windows were all very thin so the room was noisy. All in all a very unpleasant experience from a security point of view but also just a lack of basic hygiene. And to top it all, extremely expensive!
