Girivihar Holiday Club - Pure Veg

We spent a night in this hotel, Yes, it is a hotel not a resort. Girivihar seemed to be a recreational club once, now converted into hotel. Good things are that the rooms are spacious, campus is good with small garden etc with games facilities like TT, Carom. Not so good things: Expensive food. Though display said they have a pure veg restaurant, we were told there's no restaurant inside. Food is supplied from outside. Extra amount is charged for this service. A cup of tea is priced at Rs 25, while it costs only Rs 20 in Kamat Green house few kms away. So avoid buying food inside. There is a Gujarathi restaurant next to this hotel. We checked in at 5PM instead of 12 noon- still one of the rooms was not kept ready and they started cleaning it only after our arrival. The gates were not locked at night. No view. Hotel is located inside city, so there's no view of the valley or highway etc. View from hotel is basic. If you want resort like experience or view of kandala valley, book elsewhere I didn't see a swimming pool in the campus. (if it is somewhere else, not sure)

The hotel has really big and spacious rooms with a simple and rustic feel. You really enjoy sipping tea with pakodas in the room balcony. For cleanliness I give them 15/10. Its run by a family who are really caring and look after all your needs. The in house restaurant serves amazing Gujarati and Punjabi dishes. Overall an amazing experience and recommend everyone to visit.

Loved the new rooms. A big upgrade from my last visit. Very modern now and luxurious. Writing table solved my work from home issue. The food is delicious as always. My favourite kathiyawadi go to place in lonavala

Visited Girivihar in june 2023 for first time and our stay there was pleasant! We are there to celebrate our anniversary. We enjoy lot. Great hospitability, warm welcome by owners. We have book superior Room, which was clean, spacious and everything is up to the mark, exactly as displayed while booking. Staff is also helpful. Two and four-wheeler parking is available. We liked the food and breakfast also, it was very tasty. Overall, this place is lovely and has a homely vibe, plus a small cozy garden area too for relaxing and the stairs have some great pictures of nearby picnic spot in Lonavala and Khandala, that are worth looking at. Away from city Centre but easily access in 5-6 min reach there by car. Best for non-drinking, vegetarians and traveling with family.
