I reserved a whirlpool room with a tub, when I called the hotel to confirm and check in, I was told a whirlpool room was not available. I was given a room with a shower instead. The receptionist was less than polite and hung up on me twice.
When I arrived at the hotel to check in, She offered no resolution….only to say, “she was new, she was the only employee at the hotel at the time, her manager was not available, and there’s nothing that could be done.”
The room was dusty. Elastics and debri under the bedside table. Cords covered with dust.
The shower nozzle cover was broken and hanging down…it looked like it had been glued with hot glue.
The light in the toilet room was slow to turn on…there may be a short in the outlet box.
The pillows were lumpy and flat.
In the morning, I asked the receptionist for contact information for maintenance, or management, she again, was leas than polite. …That's saying it nicely.
The room cost me $200.00. It was supposed to be a relaxing getaway for my husband and I. I intentionally booked with Marriott, thinking it was a reliable, clean, well-maintained room with kind employees…this has been my experience with past Marriott bookings, but far from my experience this last weekend.
I was disappointed to say the least. A little better customer service would have gone a long way to improve the situation.
A little kindness, empathy, and accountability is so important in business!
