Los Zocos Impressive Lanzarote

We had a great experience at this hotel, travelling as 2 families of 5 and 6 and arriving on New Year’s Eve and returning on 7th Jan 2024. The hotel has a great location near to the beach and local amenities. Our two-bed suite was spacious, very clean and well equipped. There is no air-con switched on during winter, but the temperature during the day was average 22 degrees and cooler at night, so was not needed at all any way. One of our favourite things about the suite was the ‘L’ shape layout, giving a sense of privacy between bedroom spaces, and also the lovely balcony area. We stayed in room 1131 in block 1 and had a pool view. The only thing I would say is that the matresses are quite thin, but we still found them perfectly fine for our stay. The hotel pool areas were well-maintained and the pools were very clean (not heated FYI). Pool bar was inside which was good in cooler weather/early evening. Drinks choices good and liked the reusable plastic cups and collection points, helping to keep the outside area clean. We were really pleased with the food choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner - we couldn’t fault it really. The added option of the oriental and Galeon bar is a great addition and the food in there was lovely, we felt. Not a really extensive choice, but most definitely enough as an extra option. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Entertainment team fantastic. They were great with little ones and worked really hard. The shows were what you would expect from an all-inclusive, with some nice touches - our favourite was the fire show and it was nice to have a live singer poolside one day. Crazy golf was also a good addition and volleyball nets. Grounds really well- maintained and we felt the whole place was kept very clean, right down to seeing window cleaners etc. There are a choice of a couple of places to get a drink in the evening. And there are also a choice of bars etc nearby away from the hotel if you want to venture out (lots with happy hour and lovely tapas!). It’s about a 20-25 min drive to the hotel from the airport and we really liked the surrounding resort too. Our older teenage children spent hours in the sea a little way down the coast exploring snorkelling and finding sea life. We had a trip to the Dominican Republic (Royalton Punta Cana) back in August 2023 which cost a lot more than what we paid for this holiday (and which ended up being a nigh**are) - Los Zocos beats it hands down in pretty much every way!

An honest review recently returning from the resort. Travelling with two adults and one 4yr old mid May. Room: We stayed in a room on the first floor between the two pool areas, next to the crazy golf (free). Room has a twin room and the sofa was turned into a bed for our little one. Small kitchenette and shower room. Balcony looking over the quiet pool. Very nice - no complaints at all. Briefly cleaned/tidied daily. Pool: Two main pool areas, one quiet and the other with entertainment. Kids and adult pools. Lots of sunbeds and lifeguard on duty (not sure I’d trust it though; spent their time heads down on their phones) - don’t be irresponsible and look after you kids like you normally would!! Very little shade but resort looks to be improving this. Food: Buffet restaurant open morning, lunch and dinner. Food was standard all inclusive, no thrills but what I expected for all inclusive. If you want non-bulk cooked food don’t go all inclusive. Did get a bit samey/boring towards the end of the week but nothing we haven’t found at other all inclusive resorts we stayed in the past. Chinese restaurant (no bookings required) similar to an all you can eat but with half the amount of dishes. A nice change to the buffet. Al-a-cart we didn’t visit because it is adults only. Drink: During the day the bars are open at the poolside serving most drinks you can think of in plastic cups only - it is a pool after all!! Beer is Tropical and I didn’t find it to taste like you would get out of resort - maybe watered down. Cocktails are premixed and very sweet - on their own we’re a little ‘boring’ however could be topped up with extra spirits. Spirits are plentyfull but bottom shelf. Fruit juices and water is readily available. Evening area serves the same drink but in glasses. Entertainment: The animation staff are lovely however not as animated as we have found at other resorts. Kids club for a couple hours a day (4yrs+), a couple games away from the poolside but not a lot taking part in the pool area - maybe the time of year we visited. Evening kids disco (20:15) followed by a show changing every night. Sundays no evening entertainment at all. Facilities: Gym is decent for a hotel. Weights and machines - I was impressed especially it’s free and not busy. Small arcade which gives tickets for prizes. Local area: Beach is 5min walk over the road through a small mall area with bars and restaurants. Teguise is 20min walk and in my option quiet to Maspalomas we have visited before (Gran Canaria). Overview: We won’t be returning however we didn’t leave disheartened. Maybe due to the time of year but the resort was overrun with English at the time of visiting (maybe 95%) we could have gone to Great Yarmouth for the same experience…

Negatives: unfortunately Netflix or YouTube don’t work on the tv, WiFi stronger in rooms than around the resort. And no option for English on tv. Food: was Delish but not many options for the plainer taste pallet. However: An absolutely beautiful resort, not far from the beach or some local shops/restaurants . Food was amazing and looked delicious around the buffet. 🥗 Room and all areas kept clean and fresh. The pool was very big and lovely to swim in with beautiful trees and greenery! 🌴 Staff were very polite and friendly and dealt with any questions or queries. The ENTERTAINMENT teams were absolutely fantastic!!! 🥇 all the energy and smiles entertaining the children and us adults. The care and passion to perform and plan the activities for all ages to participate in was just fantastic!! 🎳🏓🔫🏹💃🏼🎯🃏 Amazing a**osphere and efforts made for the mini discos entertainment too. Certainly enjoyed watching the teams dress up 🏴‍☠️🤡 Massive thank you for all the entertainment staff (Tomek, Paddy, Mateo, Leo, Eva, Chloè Yohan, Ines!! And anyone else I’ve missed!!) And for your kindness and laughter. 🤭 I will smile at the memories you’ve all helped create. I wish everyone happiness and health! I would love to come back! 🌞🩵

Great resort! Located right on the ocean, clean, beautiful and pretty. The restaurants served different dishes every day, everything was fresh and very tasty. Very helpful, polite and nice service. The reception staff will take care of even the smallest matters in the blink of an eye. The swimming pools and attractions inside the resort are of the high level. Greetings and wonderful words of appreciation go to TOMEK and his animation team "Acttiv" - Paddy, Nadine, Leo, Nira, Mateo, Eva. 😀😀😀 Always joyful and full of positive energy 💪 They created an amazing a**osphere every day! Best regards to YOHAN and his team "French Fram" - Chloe, Ines, Marie, Flora. 😀😀😀 Always smiling, sociable and helpful. Both animation teams provided us with a lot of entertainment and smiles every day! Great approach to both adults and children. The children loved the daily mini club, games and mini disco. Daily games and activities, as well as live performances by various artists for children and adults. Our family spent a wonderful holiday at this resort.

Had a lovely time at this hotel for 10 nights with my partner and 4 month old. Perfect location & stunning hotel however there are some basic improvements that could be made to really upgrade this hotel and the customer experience… - Larger glasses by the fizzy drinks, it makes sense to have small glasses next to Juice but annoying next to fizzy as you need to refill constantly! - Similar, larger mugs by the coffee machines. Literally no room to add milk to the mug when you choose Americano! - Have forks next to the dessert offerings in the restaurant, you get one fork which gets taken away with your Mains plate so usually left with no cutlery every meal! - Cook the food properly… twice we found chicken to be raw in the middle. - Change the bedding every day, the cleaners left stained bedding in our room consecutive days so not sure how often they actually change bedding? - Daily cockroach cleaning using insect spray (or else you find them every night!) - Heat / cover the pool as it is freezing. For 10 days we basically dipped our toes in twice which is really poor considering its a pool type of holiday. Some basic things that would make it more enjoyable in my opinion but we had a wonderful stay and would stay again.

I am at the Los Zocos as I write this review , this is our 3rd day of a 1 week break. The rooms are very basic , does have a fridge and microwave but the decor is ok,it has a TV but NO english channels, complained about this and was told it would be fixed the next day which didn't happen,was told no English channels all over the Island ? Bathroom is pretty poor sink wont drain water away ,takes ages and the towels feel like nylon. The grounds are beautiful and well kept as are the pools but they are freezing. The food has been good overall and the drinks are basic ,don't bother with the premixed cocktails. Wifi is very poor. Have been in a lot of 4 star hotels all over the Canaries and would rate this one poorly for basic needs such as TV and WIFI .

This is a huge cafeteria that has buffet lunch with a wide variety of food from salads, cheeses, cold cuts, bread, pizza, French fries, fish, chicken, beef, pork, paella, pasta, fruits, cakes, ice creme, soda, juice drinks, coffee. It costs €20. To me, the price has to be €5 less.

Firstly I didn’t like to be told when to eat. We were told there are two sittings for dinner, the first for families,so we were given the 8 0 clock sitting, therefore at 8 there was queues for dinner. Also if you want to have a drink before dinner there is only the snack bar where you will be served a drink in a paper cup, )not good if you want a glass of wine). The entertainment was again suited to families, mini disco was followed by the usual acts, but come 22.15 the lights came on and everyone was told good night. Being a couple with no children to put to bed we expected to stay out later than 22.15 when we’re on our holidays. Having stayed at many hotels in the Canary Islands I would not rate this a four star. On the positive the room/Junior suite that we stayed in was very nice, spacious and clean with a large balancing overlooking the pool.

We had a fantastic time at this hotel asked for suite on the ground floor and that's what we got. The room was excellent size ways but the only issue I had with it was if you were sitting in it the seating is extremely low and an awkward shape. The food for an all inclusive was fantastic the best I have ever had in an AI. There is even a Chinese buffet to be had everyday. The entrance to it seemed strange as it's nearly outside. Breakfast for example had real back bacon English sausage and even black pudding along with plenty of additional breakfast items. The entertainment group were all fantastic and got everyone who had tried one thing to try another and another. The grounds are very well kept indeed and there was ample room at the pools. Now there where we noticed piles of sun beds set to the side so I am guessing that this place could get very busy. Would I like to be here if it was very busy the answer is no. So will we return yes as long as we keep it when it's quiet.
