Hotel di Shijo, Kyoto

Great location! Close to Teramachi and Nishiki market , quite a few train stations , 10 to 15 walk to Gion. Room has washing machine and detergent is provided . They have a microwave and plates provided for in room meals . Room is kept very clean and bed is comfortable

Very comfortable room and bed, and great bathroom! It had a lot of plugs so it was easy to charge everything. I didn't have a view but that was ok! There were plenty of laundry facilities and microwaves if you wanted to warm something up and you could get delivery to the lobby. It has a very pretty landscaped entrance and is only 5 minutes from Shijo station (5 mins to Kyoto station) and 10 mins to Shijo Omiya station. There is also a bus stop right outside that goes all the way to Kinkaku-ji temple! You are 20 mins for Gion and 15mins from the main shopping area. Easy to find somewhere to eat in the evening and get breakfast. There are free toilettes in the room but also in the lobby (lotion, cotton pads and cotton buds, iron etc) but the one thing I would have loved was UHT or fresh milk to be available. Yes there are markets nearby, yes there is an (unplugged) refrigerator in your room but I only wanted a little bit and this would have made my stay perfect. Still a great experience and definitely somewhere I would recommend for your stay in Kyoto.

This year, Kyoto's red leaf season ended a little later, and luckily booked a room far below the November price. This door is not big but there is a hole in the sky inside. It feels like there is a townhouse built in 4-5. Our check-in time was relatively late, and the small requirements made to the front desk lady were met. There are two floors, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Our couple is a bit extravagant. It should not be crowded next time we bring our parents again (it is estimated that it is inconvenient for both parents to come). The block is very quiet, not far from Nijo City, about seven or eight minutes from Omiya Station, we dragged our suitcases on the quiet street at night a little embarrassing: D. Overall satisfaction, if the price is right, I will choose next time.

We stayed at the hotel at the end of September. The hotel is located near Omiya station, but about 20 minutes by bus from Kyoto station. There are chain supermarkets nearby. The hotel room is quite standard. There is air conditioning, a refrigerator, a kettle, a TV. The windows do not open. A simple breakfast is provided in the lobby. Rice porridge on water with Japanese additions and grain coffee from a coffee machine or tea. Unfortunately, only 1 key card was issued for 3 people. On the 4th floor, the wi-fi practically did not work.

This hotel has a perfect location. It has many bus stops around. There is a 7 11 at the basement and Sukiya in front of the hotel. The hotel room is big for Japanese standards. The room is clean and big. The only downside is they don't clean rooms everyday they change the towels and throw the trash. We stayed there for 3 nights. I enjoyed our stay, Bonus is, there was a quick snowfall around its vicinity. we will definitely go back if we go back to Kyoto.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options to kickstart the day. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from both the bus and train stations, making travel incredibly convenient. The onsen was a delightful bonus, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. I highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, convenience, and thoughtful amenities!

Nice hotel and great location! Very convenient and on a great shopping street. Lots of restaurants and things to do around. 15- min walk to Gion and 20 min walk to Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka areas. It’s about a 5-10 min walk to major subway stations. I’ve very please led with my stay. The nightly drink tokens were great and the public bath was a perfect way to rest after a day of sightseeing. Only thing is there were only 2 washer/dryer machines in the whole hotel so it made it possible to do laundry. You’ll have to wait. Also it’s a very busy tourist and shopping area but you’ll always have something to do. Also it’s hard to find! It’s not on the Main Street! Wish the hotel would send directions or a prompt about it. However, I’m still very happy with my stay!

If you are looking for a good value hotel in Kyoto, with reasonable transit connections, the Mitsu Shijo is a good option. We had a relatively small standard room but managed with 2 people. Pros: Sento - clean, relaxing and spacious with a nice makeup area. Buses to different sights nearby. Breakfast is Japanese and the coffee machine makes good lattes. Very nice staff Life groceries nearby provides variety of food and takeaways. Cons: The hotel is in the centre of the city and while that may seem useful, it’s quite a trip to the major sights and areas. The local restaurants also should be booked on tabelog to make sure you get in.

The hotel is located away from the bustling tourist street Shijo-dori, which leads to one of the main shrines, Yasaka Shrine. We had a room on the 9th floor with a partial view of the city (for safety reasons, the windows only open 45 degrees in the vertical plane). A special feature of the room is the bathroom with a massage shower! After a busy day, it's very nice to relax your whole body under the hot streams. The breakfast is very tasty and filling, even though it is served in a box. All the products are fresh, and over the 3 days, we received 2 different boxes. Coffee, water, ice, and skincare toiletries are available 24 hours in the lobby. The location is convenient, making it easy to get to all the attractions and Kyoto Station by both subway and bus. The cleanliness in the room and throughout the hotel is of the highest standard!

Very good. Will continue to choose next time I stay. Environmental sanitation and transportation are generally okay. The most important thing is that you can take a bath every day. The bathing area is also very detailed.
