Surf Synergy All-Inclusive Surf Retreat

The thought of going to a surf and wellness Holiday was not on the very top of my family’s wish list, and after 7 days, there is conversation of how to make this an annual trip! This is all due to the program that has been put into place at Surf Synergy. Every aspect of the week is crafted for a perfect mix of activity, relaxation, and learning. What I was SO happy with how this week provided our family the opportunity to be very close. Watching them smile in the water was absolutely the best part!!! Thank you to the entire staff!!

I went to Surf Synergy for a birthday party with friends and ended up staying for an extra three weeks! My experience here was truly life changing… I felt like a teenager at camp! As a 56 year old woman, I really wasn’t all that excited about surfing as I have had a few “lessons” in the past and decided long ago that it wan’t going to be a sport for me. That quickly changed with the amazing one on one surf coaching (thanks Javier, Veronica and Natalie), the video analysis, great board selection and now I am completely hooked and am already booking a return trip! This isn’t just a surf camp…it’s a week long journey of experiences in health, wellness, amazing food and interacting with great people sharing the Pura Vida lifestyle. Sadly, I can’t bring home surfing, but will bring home the healthy eating, yoga, mindfulness, sauna and cold plunge practices. The community aspect of your week here is what every vacation should be like. Sharing meals, surfing together, doing classes together make for lot’s of memories and a ton of laughing! I can’t remember when I have laughed so much and just thoroughly felt pure enjoyment out of life. Looking forward to my next trip!

Fantastic time at Surf Synergy. I've been to a couple others, and these guys rock. Upscale accommodations with a cool vibe, great surf instruction with daily video analysis. Different surf spots to choose from, healthy and tasty food. High integrity leadership also helped me deal with a personal hiccup. 🙏🏄‍♂️

This place is an absolute gem. We were looking for a balance of luxury, relaxation and surf and this checked all the boxes! The instructors are incredible and suited both me a beginner and my husband and advanced surfer. The days are well balanced and the staff is super attentive if you want additional tours or massages. The food is absolutely incredible. And they use all natural ingredients so you feel great and never heavy. I’m the ultimate (constructive) critic and this place is impeccable!

Our family absolutely loved everything about our time at Surf Synergy. Their team was Awesome. Our surfing dramatically improved after only 3 days of their comprehensive program. We learned so much more due to incredible coaching, board selection, video analysis, stretching, and spa treatments. The food, service, and general vibe was outstanding. We can't wait to get back to Surf Synergy.

Yes, there's the state-of-the-art resort built and curated to invoke an environment at one with nature with its earth-tone colors and textures, open-air floor plan overlooking spectacular views of rolling greenery leading to the Pacific. There are picture-perfect bungalows nestled into the hillside as you stroll past and down the winding road to the yoga platform surrounded by mango trees and the sound of macaws. There are indescribably flavorful local fruits and clean ingredient meals prepared for a Michelin rating. There are countless other breathtaking accommodations but the magic is in the collection of extraordinary people associated with this experiment, connected and committed to a vision of symbiosis with the Jaco community. No matter how long you stay you will become deeply ingrained in the culture of this rich coast. The people, with their inherent gratitude for community, well-being, and giving back, are a commodity far more valuable than oil or gold. It’s the kind of place that will force you to evaluate what’s most important to you and it might just be as simple as surfing with family. We found Surf Synergy through a Google search but as soon as we got on the shuttle there from the San Jose airport we realized we were amongst friends. A group who had already lucked upon this gem of a place and were returning as we will now too. The guests we spent the week with ranged in age from about ten to seventy years old, with a vast array of backgrounds and surfing abilities and it all worked out beautifully. It’s clear that everyone involved with Surf Synergy; the owners, the management, the staff, the instructors, and the friends are wholeheartedly invested in its success and you feel it. As a Mainer at heart, I come from a state where our motto is 'the way life should be,' and Costa Rica is a kindred spirit in its 'pura vida.'
