Sowell Hotels le Pas du Loup

Great hotel, very kind and friendly hotel staff. Extremely helpful staff. Excellent drinks at the bar, and the restaurant serves delicious meals. I really like the option to make your own lunch or sandwiches to take away. I didn't use this option, but it's a great choice if you feel like having a sandwich on top of one of the mountains around the hotel. The hotel is connected to a shopping gallery where there are shops, restaurants, rentals, etc. In the restaurant, when they take away empty plates along with cutlery, they should provide new cutlery. You return to the table with another plate, for example, the main course, and you don't have utensils because they were taken away :-)

Would highly recommend, especially with friends, family, beginners and kids. Fantastic food, staff very friendly and relaxed. We were a group of 18 and have already re-booked for 2025!

We have been in Isola for a week. We arrived late on Sunday and was impressed that the hotel contacted us to see if we wanted food put aside for when we arrived. Today we have had a day from hell. We were due to leave this morning and got up at 3am for the taxi to the airport. We were then informed that the road was closed and we couldn’t get out. So we came back to the hotel reception to figure out what to do. We were very tired and stressed and the receptionists offered no help or update on the road… they just left us there. When we thought we would not be able to get to the airport today … we asked how much for a room tonight….. over 300 euros…. More than half the price of the whole week! And we couldn’t actually get into the room for another 2 hours… 8 hours awake at this time. So we went down for lunch to be told all closed… no offer to find us anything from the kitchen… which was clearly just closing. When we asked reception if they could do anything bearing in mind how much we had paid for just a few hours … it was a flat no and the two receptionist virtually ignored us and continued to talk in French. At one point the manager barked at me to charge my phone elsewhere as she wanted the plug for a light… she nearly crashed straight into me and was abrupt and rude…. She clearly felt we were a nuisance hanging about in reception. Today has really spoiled a good week. The hotel staff did nothing to help us apart from rip us off with the price of a room. We were then told that the road was open. Ned could be closed tomorrow. We found a cheaper hotel near to the airport and bearing in mind the circumstances and the fact we were not told it was non cancellable - we asked to cancel so we could get to Nice safely for the flight in the morning. It was s flat NO even though we haven’t even been into the room! We the spent 2.5 hours trying to get a sensible answer- some support. The receptionists just said they couldn’t make the decision so e mailed head office, the manager nowhere to be seen, e mails from Head Office just saying No, various pointless exchanges with a chat function and messaged …. all getting us nowhere. Seriously, the worst service… worst customer focussed business I have ever engaged with. Rip off room fee when they advertising a third of the price the day before. No empathy, no concern, no support. A good measure of a company is when things go wrong - spectacularly failed Sowell. Will not be returning and do not recommend. Still here by the way - got nowhere so had to stay in our very expensive- very basic room. Let’s see if the road is open tomorrow!I

Le Pas Du Loup is situated right on the front of piste so you literally ski out in the morning or meet the ski school right outside the deck by the bit room. Breakfast Lunch and dinner are on a buffet style, which is constantly being prepared and replaced. The food and drink are plentiful and you are able to make up a lunchbox if you prefer to eat out on the slopes. The bedrooms with balconies are comfortable, and the bathroom whilst being small is fine, no real frills though and if you want to be picky they could do with a makeover, the sink is modern and the shower riser (lovely shower) but the bath is half size and the colour scheme not the best (brown) but that’s all just aesthetics, it could also do with better ventilation. Nice touches are the nespresso machine in the room. Only other criticism is that the boot rooms are just not really comfortable at all. Very cramped in one of them and just not a great way to start the day, you want somewhere warm not cold so hopefully they will heat the boot rooms or make some inves**ent in them as this would make such a huge difference. Isola is just a great little resort for kids to learn, and those who want a relaxed ski holiday close enough to drive up from Nice in 1hr35mins so if you want to do a mountain and sea break this is ideal.

The hotel itself is quite basic, but you have everything you need really, comfortable beds, clean towels, everything is so convenient, ski in/out, supermarket is close, ski rental is close, bars, restaurants, you dont even have to go outside as you can walk down the gallery. We went full board and did not regret it, the food was amazing and plenty, all fresh and nicely cooked. You can take away your lunch, eat it outside or inside, they just thought about all sorts of options. Plenty of drinks, soft and alcoholic, staff was really nice, friendly and accommodating. I can not find any faults really, such an enjoyable skiing break. I would definitely come back here again.

6th time at this hotel and resort, fantastic service, location and value for money as normal. Extremely decent snow conditions given the high temperatures elsewhere in Europe. More than enough varied skiing available for our 5 day visit 02 02 24. Will be back 2025 if not sooner

Brilliant array and variety of choice at breakfast. Very nice and helpful staff and great to be able to ski straight from the boot room to the lift

The Manager Daniel and his staff were lovely and extremely helpful. I have stayed here twice once with my family and alsoam as part of a school trip of 60 pupils and 9 staff and it was lovely both times. The food is excellent and the location is fantastic. We had a wonderful time and the pupils and staff loved the hotel and resort. It is extremely good value for money and we will definitely be back. Thank you Daniel for your hard work and hospitality.

60 student and 10 staff attended our school trip. The hotel was clean, tidy and provided access directly onto the slopes. Food and drinks were all inclusive and the selection of both was excellent. The staff were absolutely fabulous. Polite, informative and happy to helps wherever they could.
