Hampton Inn Indianapolis-N.E./Castleton

My family and I use Hilton weekly due to a massive flooding issue in our home. We opt for this location because it’s close to the interstate 465 which works well for us. This location lacks all of the Hilton qualities and many basic amenities. In my opinion it’s great if you just need somewhere to sleep and amenities don’t matter to you. Just a disclaimer I was there prior to the renovations for about 8 consecutive weeks. When I first came in 10/24 the manager Matt was awesome. Since then the manager is July, she’s extremely rude and loves to talk about herself. Taylor is pretty nice. The night shift up until 6 am is very hostile and defensive. I asked for a toothbrush and was given so much resistance. Lack of hospitality. Alfredo the kitchen employee is always on his phone and overcooks the food. Brittany from the front desk is very argumentative and confrontational. She doesn’t understand what hospitality is. They won’t turn on the drink station for patrons to get juice with breakfast. Check expiration dates on all food. Employees don’t say hello/ good morning when I see them (those things matter to me). Pros: Rooms are nice/ remodeled Large tv in room Microwave in room Fridge in room Shower is good Close to interstate Free coffee tea cocoa Cons: Staff is rude Lots of trash in parking lot Elevators don’t work when they do only one works and my family and I were stuck on it multiple occasions Building needs roof ( per employee) so the higher up that you stay the colder the hallway is in the winter. It’s like the windows are open. Breakfast is very small usually overcooked and very limited Pool is never open (closed for 8 consecutive weeks) Doors are usually unlocked (safety) Housekeeping doesn’t come around daily for turndown service Icemaker is only on the 2nd floor Hallway garbage sits for days full/smelly Digital key does not work must go to desk and get physical key They ran out of everything (breakfast, snacks, forks, spoons, lids for coffee cups, plates and bowls). Staff needs retraining on hospitality and professionalism. Tv remotes need charging but there’s no charger in room was told to use my cell phone charger.

This hotel has made drastic improvements since the last review. The interior is undergoing renovations, but the finished rooms are beautiful! The lobby and pool are great and the manager, Brittany, was so kind and helpful! Ignore the old reviews and give this place a chance. You won’t regret it.

Stayed one night with my teenage daughter due to a local softball tournament. First the positives. Every employee was great from start to finish. Rarely do you find all employees are great but it was true for this hotel. I was able to check in early after calling to see if anything was available. This was a life saver since the tournament was delayed due to rains. Breakfast was well stocked and the area was kept clean. Needs improvement. There are signs that the property is under exterior renovations through the end of 2024. I’m not sure if the interior is included but it is badly needed. The room was clean and fine. The hallways are not great, I would say multiple years overdue for carpet, wallpaper, etc. Checkout was a breeze and we were even given a couple of bottles of cold water for the road. There was also a welcome letter for our softball club and they put out some gatorade bottles and rice crispy treats for the team. This was a nice touch. I didn’t feel dirty after my stay so I would stay again but with the hopes of interior hallway upgrades.

So far the rooms are nice and renovated. Front desk staff was nice & helpful They also have breakfast in the front, hot waffles( with several toppings to add on ) cereal oatmeal. Coffee , tea, hot cocoa. As well as a big indoor pool. Overall a nice place.

I booked my rooms in June/July2023 for February 2024. I received an email the week of my travels that my rooms were canceled then I was charged a cancelation fee for their error. After a week I was still not reimbursed. Bad business. Unprofessional!!!

This reminded me of a terrible 70’s motel that you see in the movies. Do not stay here. It smells. It is dirty. There is construction going on that they never tell you about. This should not be toted as a Hilton property.
