Kakkos Bay Hotel and Bungalows

Good morning everyone, I would like to appreciate the Kakkos bay hotel for hosting us, it was beautiful from start to finish. We had great room which was always clean and taking care of. The staff and management of the hotel was always helpful and good towards us. Specifically the waiter Maria who always was there for us. Pool bar was our favourite with the main bartener with the small pony tail. Of course I have to mention beach that was great, lots of personal space and the sea is just amazing here, so clear, great for scuba diving !! One big thank you Kakkos Bay, it was a pleasure. What a beautiful resort with smooth pebble beach in a quieter area of Crete. Not much in the vicinity of hotel just a few hotels, tavernas and shops. We had a very warm welcome by all the staff. We were met by concierge who took us to our bungalow and gave us a guided tour of the resort and facilities. The food was delicious, some of the best food we have had in hotels. The restaurant staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.We we’re on the all inclusive package which allowed you to use one of the main pools and pool bar, the two bar staff were both wonderful, you didn’t need to go to the other pool. The hotel bar which was looked after by Altino was a joy to spend time at, he was very talented at making cocktails and entertaining the customers. Stephanos made sure we were well looked after as we celebrated our wedding anniversary. He arranged bubbles and cake in our room and also gave us some advice on where to go in the car. If you can tear yourself away from the resort it’s worth hiring a car to explore ,it’s so beautiful to go into the mountains and lots of unspoilt beaches to be found. Housekeeping were wonderful, every day they change the bedding and towels and all communal areas were spotless. We did not use the A la Carte Taverna, this was partly due to the food being so good in the restaurant but also no menu being advertised for customers to entice you in. Spa staff were also a bit shy, it was only the last day of our holiday that they decided to ask us if we wanted to use the spa.This didn’t worry us. We would highly recommend this hotel.

We have spent great time at Kakkos Bay with my wife and daughter. Hotel is great, very clean, everyone is nice and polite. The cleaning service is on the highest level. The biggest impression was made by the restaurant staff. These people are awesome, very talkative, always smiling and very helpful. I would recommend that hotel to everyone! For sure will be back here next year!

we decided to spend our honeymoon in kakosbay, the best holiday we've been on, great food, great bungalow and most importantly, excellent service, nice and always looking for help. Absolutely amazing holiday . Nice clean room with sea view. Very tasty various food. Excellent cheese for breakfast. Fresh fruit and the best tomatos I have ever eaten. Nice drinks, nice wine when wine is really wine and vodka is vodka, not only spirit. Very friendly staff.

We had an absolutely lovely time in the Kakkos Bay Hotel. Everything was perfect. The food at the all inclusive restaurant had a lot of choices and was pretty good too. All the staff members are always very nice and that made our stay even better. A special thanks to all the waiters at the restaurant and at the pool bar for their great kindness. We would love to come back someday :)

We stayed here for 11 days. The hotel is very nice with very friendly staff. The best staff for us were bartenders Manos and Thanos from the pool bar and Myrtos from the restaurant. We have to thanks for the best holiday ever. Another best thing was the thematic dinners.

Hotel Kakkos Bay captivated us at first sight when we were choosing our holiday. We were looking for a quiet place close to the sea and that's what we found. A beautiful island of tranquility in the middle of a blooming garden. We had a wonderful holiday, but you have to get used to the Etesian - the annual north wind. The sea beckoned for snorkelling and diving as it was full of fish. As for the food, it was amazing - every night there was a cuisine from a different part of the world, so we visited Asia, America, Spain, Italy, Greece and there was even Cretan cuisine. Everyone could choose what they liked. We stayed in bungalows that were cleaned every day by a nice lady. We have nothing to complain about - the staff was lovely and helpful. Hopefully the management realises that the hotel is becoming a home for visitors, but the beating heart of this home is the staff, without them we would not have enjoyed our stay here so much. I will remember my stay here fondly and perhaps we will be lucky enough to return again with the word: Καλημέρα.

The resort is located not far from the city of Ierapetra next to a beautiful beach. There is not much in the vicinity of the hotel, but you can walk to a couple of souvenir shops (about five minutes away). If you are into hiking, you should definitely visit Milonas Waterfall (about an hour away). POSITIVES: - excellent food - helpful staff - stunning infinity pool & beach - peaceful ambiance NEGATIVES: - the rooms in the lowest part of the main building (e.g. 216) are not what you would expect from a 4-star hotel (no wonder they are not included in any promotional materials) - dark, shabby, not much furniture… - not enough sunbeds by the pool (you have to get up early in the morning to reserve a bed) - a large part of the resort (one of the pools, for instance) is not included in the all inclusive package (this was the biggest shock - we booked the hotel because we liked the idea of being able to use two different swimming pools; however, when we got to the upper pool, we found out that neither drinks nor sunbeds were included in the package) - no lunch option by the pool (there is a snack between 11:30 - 12:30, but you have to go to the main dining room for lunch - this surprised us because a lot of all inclusive resorts serve pizzas/salads by the pool at lunchtime) Don’t get me wrong, this is a BEAUTIFUL RESORT and you will most likely fall in love with it. I just wish someone had provided me with more specific information about what is (and is not) included in the all inclusive package…
