Grand Hotel Holiday Resort

What a beautiful hotel! Without a doubt one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff were absolutely amazing, so very hard working, very helpful and always with a smile. After staying for a week with my 13 year old daughter we would definitely return. Our room and balcony were spacious and clean with the option of a safe and the gorgeous sea and Mountain Views were just lovely. There is also a handy small fridge in the room to keep drinks and tea and coffee making facilities. There are a variety of pools to choose from, we always got a sun bed without issue. The pool with the slides was our favourite, we had hours of fun going on them. Having stayed half board (which was perfect for us) , I can’t believe how many options there were to choose from! You are honestly spoilt for choice, there is something for everyone. The Lamb chops were the best I have ever tasted, the breakfasts were so brilliant and the desserts were out of this world! The location of the hotel was also great for us, a supermarket 2 minutes walk away, bus stop literally right at the front of the hotel. There is also a free shuttle bus service to and from Stalis beach a 5 minute drive away. If wanting to travel into Hersonissos, you can get the bus right outside which takes about 10 minutes and is only 2euros per person per way. I feel we chose extremely well in choosing to stay at the Grand Hotel, it was everything we wanted and needed it to be for a perfect weeks stay during May half term!

Absolutely brilliant. Couldn't fault it and would be more than happy to come back. Particularly impressed with their allergy management. Considering the food was all inclusive buffet style in the main restaurant, they were very careful about contamination, were able to clearly articulate the ingredients in every dish, were more than happy to provide seperately made food where required, supplied additonal items such as 'free from' products and most importantly, I did not have an allergic reaction the whole time I was there. Very impressed with the care and attention to detail of all the staff, not just relating to food. All the resort staff were helpful and there is a little shop and a jewelery store which are both fairly priced and had everything you could need. There is even a little golf buggy to help you up the hill for those that need/want it. I was impressed with the thought that has clearly gone into the overall guest experience.

I can’t wait to leave , beautiful hotel , immaculate and spacious, however I have never accepted such disgusting treatment , one particular member of staff is incredibly rude , abrupt and damn right offensive , I will be making more of a complaint on my departure but I must say this one member of staff has totally ruined my holiday experience .. shall never be back and can never recommend such a beautiful place, I feel sorry upset and insulted by this after the large amount of money I spent to be here

We’ve just finished our holiday today and it was great. We travelled here with our 6 month old baby and they was very accommodating. We had a cot set up in the room for us. The rooms and the hotel in general is very clean. The bar staff are lovely and the restaurant staff are also lovely. All the staff were great with our baby. Always stopping us to talk to him. The food is lovely and a good selection everyday for both a meat eater and a vegetarian. The pool facilities are very clean and big. They were fairly cold but once you’re in the water it’s fine. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which will take you to Malia. Hersonissos centre and Heraklion for a very good price. The hotel is set on a hill so expect a fair bit of walking when staying here. We really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely recommend.

Lovely hotel, the hotel itself and the grounds, pool areas and communal areas were absolutely spotless. The staff were very friendly and the food was good with lots of choice for breakfast, lunch and evening dinner. Only downside was there's not much atmosphere in the main bar at night if you prefer to stay in the hotel for entertainment.

When staying at the Grand Hotel in Crete during October of last year I was fortunate enough to receive a massage from a practitioner in the hotel Spa called Pavlos. The standard and quality of this massage was absolutely of the best quality I have ever received . I had a lot of adverse tension in my muscles on multiple sites and Pavlos found all of them and dealt with them leaving me feeling very relaxed and much more comfortable. Thank you so much Pavlos!

Our great Greek vacation is over :) Before we chose the Grand Hotel, we read a lot of positive opinions about the hotel, which turned out to be true. On the second day (the first day of cleaning the room) we were robbed. A lot of cash disappeared from our wallets. Yes, we know, the hotel is not responsible for items left outside the safe. But we felt so safe that we left the issue of the safe for later (after lunch) and that was a mistake. It's a pity that the lady at the reception didn't mention that the key to the safe should be purchased from her. The theft case was reported wherever possible. but the police probably won't do anything. The hotel manager did not want to talk to us. It was very sad for us. The hotel management tolerates theft. So, if you are going to the Grand Hotel, be sure to buy a safe immediately upon check-in. The rooms are clean, the food is delicious, the hotel is beautifully situated on a hill. People working in restaurants and bars, as well as gentlemen driving a car as a hotel shuttle deserve the greatest recognition. They create the unique atmosphere of this place and it is for them that it receives 5 stars. We also recommend the car rental service located at the hotel.

When arriving at 1am we were given a ham & cheese baguette, an apple, raisins & a bottle of water each which we thought was a lovely touch then we got taken(driven) to our room. We are here now and we absolutely love it. Unsure why there are any BAD BAD reviews. Yes the complex is on a hill but it states ‘Hillside’. They have transport up and down the hill not that the hill is that bad. Rooms - Are clean and to a good standard. Everything you need. Let’s face it, you don’t come on holiday to sit in your room. Food/staff - Staff really friendly, always happy and smiley and will always chat with you. George is the best!!! We as a family adore George & will miss him alot. Everyone loves George. Breakfast - great selection - Full fry up, pancakes, fruit, yogurts, muffins, cakes, cereals. Juices, cappuccino, hot chocolate etc. Lunch & Dinner - Always a good selection, a different meat all the time, (spit roast chicken, pork, beef, chops, kebabs) rices, salads, pastas, soups, rolls, chips, vegetables etc. Drinks are also served to you during lunch and dinner. Staff come to your table and ask what you would like to drink & scan your wristbands. Desserts - different cakes, profiteroles, ice creams, fruits, alot of choices. Entertainment - day time - Pool games, music & water aerobics. Daily kids club. Night time - Shows on at 9.15 in the theatre - Some random shows but they are funny. The circus show was our fav & a must watch! Also, Live music in the main building Various pools: Main pool gets really busy, people reserving Sun beds from 6am but we never had a problem getting one. They have a relaxing adult pool, kids pool with 2 small water slides (near games room & park) & a water park. Water slides were great & open from 11-6pm. Snacks - kids pool snack bar (burgers, chips, pizza, fish fingers, all drinks etc) main snack bar - Drinks, ice cream and slushies. Water slide snack bar - drinks, doughnuts & pizza pastry thing. The hotel run a free shuttle to stalis beach/shops everyday from 10-6pm. We also got a taxi into Malia (pleasure beach) which was absolutely beautiful. (Was 17 euros though each way) my son & partner went parasailing & we also hired a pedalo with a slide which was fun! We bargained and got the parasailing for 2 & the pedalo for an hour for 100euros. You also get a free jet ski ride when you book parasailing. (Booked through dolphin when down the beach) Such a great experience! Overall, we would deffo come back. Great food, lovely location, great for families, friendly and welcoming staff. The complex is extremely clean and the cleaners do a great job.
