Headlam Hall Country Hotel et Spa

This is a magical hotel with incredible food, service, warmth and stunning surroundings. I enjoyed a truly fantastic meal on a Sunday evening and must thank Robyn for a wonderful tour of some of the rooms to help decide my next stay at Headlam. The main lounge had a fire burning and provided a wonderfully relaxing a**osphere after a busy day. The food was first class along with the attention to detail and warm friendly team. Already looking forward to another stay!

Another great stay at Headlam Hall, a wonderful hotel in a lovely setting. Everywhere is clean and well-maintained, staff are pleasant and efficient, and ambience relaxed and with a quality feel everywhere. Excellent facilities - some reflecting the old hall like the lounge and others fairly new like the spa, gym and pool. There’s a golf course too. Excellent restaurant with mercifully very low volume piped music. Only wrinkle was that our mews room had a little noise from a rather loud kitchen vent opposite when our window was open.

Just had a wonderful weekend at Headlam Hall We went for our Wedding Anniversay. The staff are a credit to the hotel, all professional and friendly. We stopped in a room above the spa, the room was very clean and the bed was so comfy, with beautiful views from the room. We dined in the restaurant and the food was wonderful, well presented and so tasty, as was the breakfast. I had a trea**ent at the spa and all the spa staff were very helpful and friendly, the pool and hydro pool are lovely and we had a lovely relaxing weekend. The grounds are beautiful with some nice walks from the hotel. We have already booked a return trip.

Just returned from an overnight stay with my mum and sister in law. As usual, we had a wonderful stay with spacious comfortable rooms, fantastic spa trea**ents and delicious food. All staff without exception were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend this lovely independent hotel with excellent customer service and fabulous gardens!

My Dear wife is the expert at finding accommodations when we travel, and in Headlam Hall she discovered another gem. Our journey began with a drive through the beautiful countryside and the tree lined road in. Our first view of the manor house was "Oh wow we are really going to enjoy our 25th anniversary weekend". The building is magnificent, majestic and sits amongst beautifully cultivated and spectacular gardens, with enormous lawns and pathways to meander through to take in the myriad of colours and flowers. We took a couple of deck chairs onto the lawn (there was no-one else there) and just sat in the sunshine and enjoyed the view. Pass through the front gate and there are really nice walks through the surrounding countryside and the beautiful old homes there. Do the loop and you will find yourselves on a public pathway through some nice paddocks. We were lucky to have been there the day after a beautiful foal was born, and had a great chat with the the farmer. People are just so jolly friendly up here. Aussies are known for having a cracking good sense of humour, and Peter the Barman was more than my match, so much fun and laughter was had. Indeed for a while there I thought he was going to beat me in the laughing competition. We enjoyed more than a few fine wines and beers and the local Gin as served by Carl is highly recommended. The food was fit for a King and his Queen, or in our case, my Queen and her King, and the selections available in the restaurant were many and varied. The restaurant staff were delightful. Our waiter Kieran was as busy as a bumble bee and breezed past us so quickly that he blew our candle out, creating much mirth for the pair of us. We thoroughly recommend this place for anyone wanting a really nice escape to the country. Susan and Cliff from Perth Western Australia.

Just returned from a 60th birthday celebration at Headlam Hall (evening meal and overnight stay). The rooms in the main hall were fabulous and spotlessly clean. The evening meal was excellent ( lots of choice, top quality ingredients and perfectly cooked). For me the two things that make Headlam Hall special are the location (in its extensive and immaculately kept gardens) and the staff ( from reception, to the cleaning staff, to the serving staff and bar staff) - they are all so friendly and accommodating. I really can’t see how this place could be improved. We will be back!

Can’t begin to tell you what a treat this was! We enjoyed a morning in the spa followed by trea**ents and dinner in the Orangery on the afternoon. It was the perfect day, and a lovely way to spend a birthday! The spa at Headlam is stunning, lots of places to relax whether it be indoors or outdoors. I absolutely loved the trea**ents and found the therapist Rachel I think her name was so friendly and really knowledgable. She gave me great advice on skincare! Dinner after was incredible! The best meal I’ve eaten in years. I had the beef followed by a crème brûlée. Fantastic value for money and the service was great! Would highly recommend visiting, it really was the best day!

Sunday night DBB stay in Spa room with 2 hour spa session. Easy to find using satnav, though take care on the single track road to the village as there are very few passing places. Staff were all brilliant; friendly and helpful from the first to the last. Room and bed very comfortable with a super soft mattress. Air-conditioning unit was a bit noisy, even when turned off. Spa was very quiet and relaxing with everything working and just the right temperature. Dinner was very nice and all perfectly cooked, with sides included as part of main course and not an extra like some other inclusive menus. Service was excellent and paced just right. Breakfast was also perfectly cooked, although some breakdown in communication with the kitchen meant it was delayed so had to rely on toast to start with. Only other comment is on lack of signage as to where reception was both from the carpark and once in the main building. Definitely will be back again.

Stunning hotel and 1st class service. The room was lovely, the dinner was great and 9 holes on a super fun golf course. Check in was simple and my room was superb. I booked to play 9 holes and the friendly Pro shop team of Darren, Shirley and Lucy couldn’t have been more helpful. A really enjoyable 9 holes with some delightful par 3’s and great views across the countryside. I had dinner in the bar area which had a nice relaxing a**osphere and the food didn’t disappoint either. Lovely gardens and surrounding areas with plenty of places to explore or sit with a drink and relax. All in all a lovely venue to stay at that I would recommend to anyone interested.
