My daughter found this B&B on Xiaohongshu. We were disappointed when we checked in. We felt misled by Xiaohongshu. The overall experience was average. The breakfast was very simple and almost all the people having breakfast were Chinese. We then realized that most of the guests were Chinese. We booked another one nearby. The difference was even more obvious. We will not book this place again next time we come to ski!

The Hotel Cabana is a small family-run business with something like twelve private suites. The location is several blocks (walkable for most people) from the Grindelwald train station, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. There is also a city bus line that you can jump on nearby. We stayed for six days and found something great to do every day. For just one example, Grindelwald First mountain top area (accessible from the cable car station in town) has some of the greatest Alpine views you will ever see. All staff members that we encountered were friendly and helpful, and communicated well in English. The continental-type breakfast (included) was of the highest quality. There was a self-serve honor-system fridge with beer, wine, and ice. And behind the hotel, the views of the valley, its traditional chalets, and The Eiger (!) were incomparable. Our suite was on the street side of the hotel, so we were not facing the Eiger, but we were able to sit on the lawn for that; and the mountain and sunset views on our connected deck would get five stars in most hotels! In early September, we experienced high temps of roughly 80 degrees Farenheit in the area. There was no air conditioning in our room...but there was a good fan, and the evenings were cool. We were quite comfortable. My wife and I were thoroughly satisfied with our stay at the Cabana, and highly recommend it.
