Where do I even begin - one of the greatest hotels finds I’ve made in 42 years of travelling to 66 countries. Unique, traditional, authentic and undoubtedly the best location on the whole Amalfi Coast! Some of the reviews say the rooms need updating - they absolutely do not ! Every room is quirkily carved into some kind of rock face with fantastic views , a balcony or terrace and fabulous furniture , both inside and out. The bathrooms have original mosaic tiles and are a decent size. But the greatest part of this find is undoubtedly the staff. We were a group of 16 friends celebrating a big birthday and absolutely nothing was a problem - in fact they went over and above with service , food and friendliness in fact we felt like we were leaving family when we left. What an unforgettable experience that I will never forget. Thank you all for making my birthday trip so incredibly special and memorable.

Very beautiful accommodation located right on the cliffs with its own access to the sea. However, when waves are high, the entry cannot be used. Rooms are small but nicely furnished, with a very cramped bathroom. Wi-Fi in the rooms is very weak (it only works on smartphones, not on computers). Dinner is very good and reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet could have a bit more variety, but the omelets are excellent. The owner is very hospitable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Mosquito protection is insufficient.

Great find. Recently visited the Fiordo and stopped in to get a bite to ear and see if we could get a taxi after walking down 8000 steps. Food and service were fantastic. Louigie was our server and went out of his way to call 5 separate sources, trying to get us a ride back to our starting point. Definitely stop in if you are visiting the Fiordo di Furore

Dripping down the hillside, we found this charming hotel to be the perfect spot from which to explore the Amalfi Coast. There are stairs to the rooms, but staff carried our (large) suitcases for us. The dining area is lovely and breakfast was more than expected and delicious. We had dinner two of the evenings we were there and it was wonderful... especially loved the lemon and shrimp risotto! Every one of the staff was absolutely delightful and went out of their way to make the experience exceptional. Luigi, Salvatore... kudos and grazie mille!

Having driven from Naples never has a friendly welcome and valet parking been so welcome ! We stayed 3 nights and the effort and care delivered by all the staff made it a very enjoyable stay. Room was as described on the website, loads of sun beds, 2 minute walk to bus stop, very comprehensive menu and all food prepared with care and enthusiasm. We will return.

I loved, loved, loved my stay at La Locanda del Fiordo. A stunning location with the most amazing views. Rooms with outstanding views and terraces. Lovely comfy beds. What made our stay extra special was the Team. So welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Very (very) quaffable wine, and the very gorgeous head chef Luigi's food was absolutely delicious ! I went with friends, we will remember our stay very fondly. We made great memories here. Highly recommended ...my photos don't do it justice. Thank you to the 3 Luigis and your fabulous team for an amazing week.

Fantastic unique place to stay, incredible views, rooms built into the rock face, direct access to the sea and most important of all run by a wonderful family, always happy always helpful and the restaurant has a great atmosphere as a result with nice food. Would stay again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Stayed here for 4 nights during our honeymoon and it was more than we could ever have asked for. The views were incredible, there was a private mini beach, an infinity pool, and it was walking distance from the Fiorde. The staff was so friendly, and the rooms were very clean. If you plan on just going for their restaurant, the quality and experience is no different. We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant and both times it was one of our favorite foods in Europe. We will be recommending this place to everyone who plans on visiting Amalfi Coast!

We stayed 6 nights at La Locanda. Comfortable room with sea view. Private access to sea swimming is fantastic. Nice location away from bustling Amalfi and Positano. Owner Luigi and his team were amazing - friendly and welcoming and made our stay a pleasure.

A nice and very good restaurant on top of the cliffs with views of the beautiful and amazing sea with a boats in the horizon, tasty and excellent food, good service from the staff and very friendly, place to definitely return. Amazing five stars

We stayed for a week at the end of may for our honeymoon. The best hotel on the Amalfi coast! Situated between positano and amalfi to avoid the tourist crowds WITH a beautiful coastline view of Praiano. We rented a scooter to visit all the towns as the hotel provides free parking. 5 min walk from the Fiordo gorge with a beach and incredible views. A romantic location that truly made our experience at the amalfi coast! Luigi and his staff treat you like family, we’ll be back!!

Amazing room with wonderful views. Beautiful cliff side retreat leading down to sea swim. Friendly staff who go the extra mile to help customers. Private transport to and from hotel might be better than relying on public bus service or expensive taxi services. Fantastic hotel overall and well recommended.

Such a refreshing stay. My wife and I spent hours swimming and lounging by the sea, or sipping spritz's on the terrace overlooking the water. The views here are shocking in the best way possible. Your jaw will drop when you first get in. And the water felt fantastic for swimming, even in October. We had 3 nights booked then decided to add 2 more and cancel our leg to Florence because we liked this place so much! The included daily breakfast was great and they'll even make omelettes if you ask. We enjoyed their restaurant for lunch and dinner as well, but because we stayed for 5 nights we'd probably recommend branching out a bit more into neighboring towns since the menu is fairly small and mostly unchanging. Hiking Tip: We hiked the Path of the Gods one day, and walked from the hotel up the stairs to Furore Municipo to catch a bus (SITA 5080) to take us to the trailhead in a town called Agerola Bomerano. Google Maps doesn't tell you this, but this hike up to the bus is probably 10 times more strenuous than the Path of the Gods itself. Might be worth hiring a car/taxi if you want to skip the 40+ minutes of steep stairs. One night we walked about 25 mins to dinner (Trattoria da Armandino -pictured) just outside of Praiano and though the food was great, we would not recommend walking that road more than you have to. It's a bit harrowing to say the least, esp at night. We did book a trip to Capri through the hotel and it was so worth it for the full day trip, and super easy logistically. If you don't have a car, you'll either be taking the public SITA bus 5070 (about 1.50/pp per ride) or calling a private transfer, which can be pricey (it was 60Euros to get a taxi from Amalfi to the hotel when we missed the last bus). Unless you've ridden the bus before, it can be a little jarring, especially if you have a lot of luggage. The bus was almost always overfilled, so you will stand and hold on for dear life at times. The hotel could be a little isolating if you don't have your own transport or aren't comfortable spending some $ every time you want to go somewhere. But if you're looking for a slower pace, unparalleled views, friendly/helpful staff, peace and quiet, then this is your place.

Myself and my husband stayed here for 5 nights. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Beautiful setting on the Amalfi Coast. Set into the cliff. Fantastic food. Luigi and all the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Right beside the beach of Furore. Will definitely visit again next year.
