Excellent hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful, efficient and kind--they were truly exceptional. The grounds are very special---many places to sit quietly with beautiful surroundings. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. I would highly recommend the Hotel du Poete!

I am travelling alone and felt at home immediately: the owner, the staff, just everybody was lovely. The room overlooking the gardens was superb! So, the myth that single travellers get lousy rooms is indeed a myth at Hotel du Poete. The Wifi was a bit complicated - but I am sure that this is something they will look into. Because they want to please their customers :-)

Beautiful hotel with picturesque garden, lots of bridges over streams. Breakfast great but what makes this hotel exceptional are the staff. Philippe, Tiva and Romen are all fabulous. So helpful, attentive and charming. The whole place exudes a joyful passion for their hotel and the surrounding village and landscape.

Our favourite hotel in the world. No exception. We came to Hotel du Poete in 2017 and returned in 2023. Everything that we loved the first time here , was as good if not better in 2023. Romain, Oliver, Natalie and all the staff - thank you from your Australian friends. If you are looking for the absolute Provence experience , base yourself here at the Hotel du Poete in Fontaine de Vaucluse. We stayed a week and we could have stayed another month...... so central to all the sights of Provence , nothing is more than an hour or so away: Aix, Arles, Gordes, Rousillion , Pont de Gard, all things van Gogh.... wineries , wineries , restaurants and restaurants .. We will be back !!!!!!

This is a perfect size family run hotel. The staff are exceptional and create a lovely atmosphere of friendly guest focussed service. Our superior room on the 3rd floor was simple and spacious with an absolutely wonderful view overlooking the gardens out to the river Sourge and the escarpment beyond. The gardens are a highlight of the hotel. They are beautifully laid out with a mill race and a small stream winding through and around the various pleasing patios and past the small swimming pool and sunbathing terrace. A private gate leads out directly into the centre of the very pretty town and the various restaurants. On the Saturday before we left, the family opened their new venture of a restaurant. The food was good and the setting delightful. It was quite a wrench to leave this heavenly place at the end of our week’s stay. One can only wish them good luck with their new restaurant venture for the future.

We stayed here for two nights at the end of a walking tour. FdV is a lovely town, near the source of the river Sorgue. As others have said, there's not a lot to do in the town and it's full of day visitors. As a result, there's not a lot of choice for restaurants in the evenings. But that's not the fault of the hotel. One of the larger hotel rooms we had during our month in France, comfortable bed and good shower. The breakfast is a highlight, with plenty of choice. Shout out to the very helpful staff, particularly Vanessa who organised restaurant bookings for us (including our 10th anniversary).

A delightful stay in the centre of the village by the river. Tastefully furnished sand decorated room, comfortable bed, well appointed bathroom. The pool area was a highlight. Highly recommend having a very affordable and delicious pizza for dinner from the van by the river!

This pretty, traditional hotel is in a wonderful situation beside the Sorgue with water running through and round it which makes it very soothing. The staff are the stars of the hotel - always happy to help and advise with a smile and when my wife injured her wrist in a fall they were quick with bags of ice and a double whisky. The rooms are traditionally furnished with modern facilities but be warned that the standard ones are very small. We paid extra to have a bigger room with larger bathroom. They are also expensive for both categories. Buffet breakfast is served which again is expensive for the variety but they are prepared to serve coffee and croissant if you ask. There is nothing wrong with La Poete and this is a tourist town but if it hadn't been for the wonderful staff, I think we would have been disappointed.

The setting of the hotel is beautiful and it is a destination on its own. It is right in the heart of the village without being disturbed by the local hustle and bustle, and it is embraced by the river. Rooms are a comfortable size and there’s a good breakfast. The gems of the hotel are its staff, especially Teva, the hotel manager, and Brigitte (we hope we got the names right). Teva warmly welcomed us on our first day at the end of a long hike, and he was a genuinely cheerful presence all throughout our stay. His quick thinking - and Brigitte’s driving - saved us on our last day when a taxi transfer our travel agent had arranged did not turn up, no alternative taxi could be found and we had to catch our train. We would stay at this hotel again.
