The staff were really helpful and friendly, it has its own free parking which is a great benefit and is in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood within walking distance of many sights and restaurants. However the part of the property we stayed in is a bit run-down and could use some updating. It worked for us (a family of 3) for the one night and I think would have worked for my spouse and I when we were fresh out of college.

Stayed at Villa Carlotta for 4 night in September and it was great. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is in beautiful and in a safe area a 10 minute walk to Boboli Gardens and the old city. Parking available on site.

This hotel was disappointing. I give it 3 stars only because the location was good. Public transportation was very close and we could get to the downtown center in very short order. The room would have been nice 10 years ago or so when it was last updated. Bur now it is quite dated and in need of updating. The throw pillows on the bed were soiled and smelled of dirt and sweat. We immediately took them off and called the desk for clean pillows. The shower was a nice size but drained so slow that we had to keep the water pressure at a minimum or we would have over-run the shower pan. The a/c barely kept the room livable, but it was stuffy unless we had the windows wide open. There was an old safe in the wardrobe but no key for it. The wardrobe itself could be locked but you had to rock it back of the rear side so that the doors would line up to allow the deadbolt to be engaged. The last issue with the room was that there were shades or curtains on the windows so that the light could be blocked out at night. We had to get a blanket that we could drape over the window to block out all the light. Breakfast was very nice with a good assortment of breads and sweets. The scrambled eggs were the best we had in our stay in Italy. Coffee and juices were also good and plentiful. All things considered, I would not book this hiotel again.

You don't get a double bed even if you ask and when you request to have the single beds put together as a double bed for a couple, nothing is done.
This property is overrated and overprice for what you get.

Nice Hotel in convenient location with parking. Good breakfast.
Street in front of Hotel is very narrow and access to hotel parking is very narrow.
Air Conditioning was not working during our stay.

We stayed 3 nights here as part of a long trip. This is a lovely hotel in a quiet part of the city but within easy walking distance to Boboli Gardens, Pitti Palace etc. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The small carpark is a bit tight but definitely a plus as we were on a driving tour, although there is on street parking right outside which costs €2 per hour (free on Sundays)
Our room was comfortable and had a small terrace which was a nice space to sit and relax
Breakfast was nice, fairly simple, everything was fresh and the breakfast room overlooking the pool was nice too.
We didn't use the pool but it was a good addition to the facilities and was really clean and well maintained.

Although the location is good (walking distance to centre of Florence), we found the hotel to be very dated. The rooms are in desperate need of renovation and the air-conditioning just about works, Although the vents were covered in dust. The basic room doesn't have a kettle/ or tea coffee facilities. The staff are friendly enough but you have to go hunting for them if you want a drink at the bar. Breakfast choice was okay and worked out cheaper than in the city. There is parking available on site which was a big plus.

The location is why we have given this hotel any rating at all. The location is fantastic because you are within a stones throw away from the centre of Florence, yet you can enjoy tranquility away from the mayhem. We withheld stars because the rooms were old and tatty. The bath towels were tiny..literally the size of a hand towel. The place felt grubby, old and badly in need of a makeover. The pool is small (it’s a plunge pool) but it was really dirty and is sun shaded very quickly. The front desk staff were constantly on the phone necessitating a LOT of waiting around. One of the occupants got locked into their room and when we tried to get assistance for him, eyes were rolled. We just felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. We travel a lot and this is very sadly one of our worst reviews ever. This place needs to grow out of its sense of entitlement. Just because they can doesn’t mean they should. Ability to park on site is a benefit. Didn’t get a chance to review the breakfast as we found an atmospheric coffee house. Just before via Romano.
