We booked here for a few nights break as we haven't been away for a while & from the photos it looks quite presentable. When we arrived, we went into the wrong door as it's apparently two buildings in one, but no signage to say so... We were shown to our room by a lovely young lady & left to get on with our stay. However, the first thing we always do is a room inspection! The sheet & pillow cases were stained & there were black hairs in the bed 🤮. Next, the blind was broken & as my husband said, downright dangerous if a child happened to be in the room. The en suite was really grotty & dirty & the ceiling was covered in black mould. The carpet also looked & felt like it hadn't been vacuumed. It was so bad that we went straight downstairs & asked for our money back. For some reason, the card machine that had just accepted my payment was now refusing to refund it. I had to wait for the owner to refund me from his bank account which I was promised he would do immediately after checking the room. Over an hour and a half later, I had to call them back & ask what was happening about my refund to be told that it was being sorted. I let them know I was NOT happy at having been kept waiting so long & either they paid it or I would be contacting my bank. About three minutes later, the young lady called to say that the refund had been processed & could I check that it was in my account. Which it was. All in all, an experience I do not wish to repeat - we'd paid for a day's parking for that debacle too because parking isn't included!
