Hotel Es Mercadal

Our second stay in this lovely little Menorcan town right in the centre of the island. A great place to explore the island by car from or just stay and enjoy Spanish life. Also our second stay at Hotel Es Mercadal. Belen is a real asset to the business. Passionate about the island she has called home for 37 years, she is a wealth of information. Paki looks after you well and services the comfortable, quiet, air conditioned rooms. Great beds and good large showers. All rooms are on floors 2 & 3 (beware if you have mobility problems). The town is delightful and comes to life in the evenings. Sit outside on of the many bars/restaurants. You only ever hear Spanish voices - fantastic!

A small friendly hotel in the heart of the town. We had a twin room at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. Particular praise for Belen in reception who was super helpful and always keen to make sure that we were made to feel welcome. The biggest downside is the breakfast. We thought that there was a limited choice. Fine if you are staying one night but not good if you are staying longer. There are some great breads and cheeses available in the town. Such a pity that this hotel doesn’t offer them. Defrosted white rolls are not good enough. This is a good choice for a short stay but you might want to go out for breakfast.

What a lovely hotel. Considering the modest price of a room, it offers so much. We were given an extremely friendly welcome by our host Belen, and nothing was too much trouble for her. The hotel is located on a quiet pedestrianised street near the centre of the town, a minute’s walk from the nearest bars and restaurants. The building is a 19th century townhouse which retains lots of original features but has been very tastefully restored. Our standard 2nd floor room was large and airy, with a comfortable bed, a Juliet balcony overlooking Monte Toro (the island’s highest peak) and a spacious, well appointed bathroom. Wifi was very fast and free, while the buffet breakfasts were simple and tasty. There were very nice communal facilities too, a stylish lounge and a quiet shady terrace at the rear, though we didn’t make use of them. Es Mercadal is an unpretentious little town with an easy-going atmosphere and some good places to eat and people-watch. Being located in the centre of the island it’s a good base for exploring the whole island.

This is a small but very friendly hotel in the pedestrian part of Es Mercadel. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are delightful. The only thing I could complain about is the breakfast coffee. The breakfast itself is fine but the coffee is terrible.

Séjour décidé au dernier moment et vraiment on n'a pas regretté notre choix pour cet hôtel de charme ! Idéalement situé dans un village au centre de l'ile , chambres très confortables , service au top et propriétaire très sympa et discret . On reviendra c'est sûr ! A recommander sans hésitation.

Bellissima struttura curata e pulita che si trova al centro di Es Mercadal, un paesino davvero tipico e caratteristico, ottimo punto di alloggio per visitare tutta l’isola di Minorca. L’hotel è dotato di poche camere, una stanza per la colazione (che è inclusa) e anche un ampio spazio comune con dei divanetti e un bagno di servizio. La camera è spaziosa, con letto comodo e bagno funzionale e fornito di phon. Punto aggiuntivo per la Smart tv che ci ha permesso di accedere a Netflix e a internet. La nostra camera aveva inoltre accesso diretto al terrazzo comune: un’area curata con una panchina e due lettini per prendere il sole. La proprietaria è inoltre stata molto gentile ed esaustiva nel consigliarci le migliori spiagge e attività, fornendoci mappe ed informazioni utili. Ombrellone in dotazione se lo si chiede. In conclusione, consiglio Hotel Es Mercadal a chiunque voglia programmare una vacanza a Minorca!

Preparamos el viaje con tan solo 5 días de tiempo y la verdad es que con el hotel no podíamos haber acertado más. Pequeño, sólo 6 habitaciones y muy acogedor. El personal muy amable y como nuestro avión salía muy temprano, nos dejaron un pequeño desayuno para llevar. Muy recomendable.

Estuvimos una noche con alojamiento y desayuno, atención personalizada y muy buena por parte de recepción (Belén). Hotel de solo 6 habitaciones que lo hace muy íntimo y original, las habitaciones amplias y comodas. Desayuno humilde pero mejorable.

Super hôtel à Minorque. Équipe au petits soins, décoration des chambres et des parties communes impeccables, chambres confortables et petits déjeuners excellents et copieux!
