Hotel Ploes

An incredible stay at the Hotel Ploes. If I could give this hotel a 6 stars I would. Everything about our stay was absolutely perfection! The hotel is so beautiful, the rooms so large and extremely comfortable and the bathrooms fantastic! We had a king size bed with wonderful linens and 18’ ceilings. The bathroom was marble and complete with 2 shower heads. These is a restaurant on the back of the hotel (for guest only most of the time) and the food is not only absolutely delicious but beautifully prepared. The bar stays open until midnight and the view over the water is just gorgeous! The staff and owners and some of the nicest and friendliest I’ve met.

I booked this hotel for one night only - as soon as I walked through the doors I knew that this was a mistake & that I should have booked for much,much longer! Hotel Ploes is a beautiful hotel. A fabulous classical building that oozes sophistication and charm without being stuffy or formal. There is a natural ease about the place. Original features have been retained with modern art and decor tastefully adding to its beauty. Wonderful Konstantinos welcomed us warmly & helped us with tips to make the most of our brief stay in stunning Hermoupolis. Our room was very comfortable & we had a very tasty & generous breakfast out on the lovely terrace overlooking the sea. I would love to return. Thank you to all the wonderful staff (including the owner who was very friendly & helpful) who made our stay one to remember.

Hotel Ploes is the most amazing place. We both loved it. Perfectly situated in Silos to walk everywhere. The staff are amazing. So friendly and helpful. We were truly spoilt. Would recommend to everyone to stay here. We felt like part of the family. Would love to have stayed for ever.

It started well when met at the airport by a taxi arranged for us by the hotel. The next time we saw our luggage was in our room. Our welcome on arrival was excellent with a drink and lovely confectionary. We were then taken on a tour of the small but stunning hotel and ended at our room on the top floor. It is a lovely room with a splendid view over the sea and a large private balcony, again with wonderful views. The only downside is that the hotel lift stops one flight of narrow and steep stairs short of the room. That wasn't very much of a problem for us, particularly since we didn't need to struggle with our luggage, but anyone who has a problem with stairs should choose a different room. The room is equipped with TV and CD player with a small selection of discs. In addition, at the foot of the stairs was a massive selection of books, many of which are in English. Breakfast was on the ground floor terrace and is served until 13.00. This suited us fine and most days we enjoyed a brunch from around 10.30 or 11.00. There is a wide selection of dishes for breakfast including very fresh fruit, with or without yoghurt, and the best fresh orange juice ever. We were never in a hurry, which was just as well since service was definitely on the slow side, although I'm not sure if this was to do with the charming waiter or the kitchen. Overall the staff were excellent and were more than happy to recommend and book restaurants for us for dinner. The hotel is brilliantly placed overlooking the Aegean and just a very short stroll to the heart of the town. One day happened to be my birthday and they came all the way up to our room carrying two glasses of bubbly and two chocolate mousse, accompanied by a verse of Happy Birthday - I was touched. Apparently they had intended to present this at breakfast, but it was probably better in the room as we consumed the drinks and put the mousse in the fridge to enjoy later. Overall a lovely three night stay in an impressive historic building

We had a fantastic time in this hotel and this was certainly one of the most beautiful hotels in the world. The bed is super comfortable and big. The shower and products are awesome. The view is breathtaking and in town to walk everywhere. The breakfast is until 13h00 on the terrace and the view over the crystal clear sea, is breath taking. Our host, Tassos, is such a lovely kind man and told us of the traditional dances that he and his group, together with four other groups, last night on the square, partakes in. The staff is outstanding and we will highly recommend Hotel Ploes to anybody.

This was an extremely satisfying experience with very personal service in a peaceful, residential environment. We also enjoyed being a few steps from the sea. It’s not the cheapest but it offers very high value. We enjoyed the Greek art surroundings, particularly the classic Cyclades sculptures.

Fantastic Hotel with an amazing sea view. The room is great, the staff is incredible, super friendly and professional! Excellent service. The hotel is in the centre so you can walk easily, it is very safe and pleasant! We loved our experience in Syros!!

My sister and I spent 3 nights at Hotel Ploes and couldn’t be happier with our experience. In particular, we were impressed with Constantine and Tassos, both of whom were extremely helpful, accommodating, charming and knowledgeable. When we had to leave early to take the ferry on the day of our departure, they even packed us a beautiful breakfast to go! If you are looking for a place to stay in Syros, you won’t be disappointed in choosing Hotel Ploes. It felt like coming home to family when returning every night. ❤️

Excellent. Charming people, beautiful building, interesting art (in a good way) and faultless service. A feather pillow option would have been good but otherwise faultless…and what a view…Syros in the spring takes some beating, perfect
