Louis Apostolata Island Resort

We are here for 1 week in June 2024. The distance from the airport is 40 minutes, but with various stops, it takes an hour. Having said that, that is as bad as it gets. The weather was hot for the week, but the air conditioning is good. We were all inclusive, the food and drink are excellent with a very varied choice of both, including enough for vegans. The staff are local families and extremely hard working. Katerina in the restaurant was superb and nothing was ever too much trouble, the bar staff also make sure you have all you need. A trip to Skala is a must, but there is enough at the hotel to keep you happy and entertained for your entire stay. One point of caution, there are a lot of stairs.

Myself and my partner had a fabulous week away. All staff were lovely and attentive, all food we had was delicious no complaints here. Only suggestion would be the bed it was quite hard, but that could be down to personal preference. We would definitely recommend, and will be coming back.

Me and my girlfriend came here in September 2024. To summarise this hotel is decent, but isn’t a 5 star, in my opinion. Straight to the points - The good: • The rooms were clean. We had a sea view jacuzzi room, which was always kept clean, up to date with toiletries and towels and was all round a pleasant place to spend the night. • Despite being a hilly hotel with lots of steps, we had a hire car and could park at our room. • The location is excellent, lovely sea view away from the busy town of Skala. • We had a car, but they have a shuttle into Skala. • The spa - we had a massage here, and it was excellent. 15% discount for guests. • The pool area is nice and well kept. It’s in a great location by the sea and very relaxing. The bad: • Don’t be fooled, there is a lot of steps and hills on this resort. Not ideal for some. • The food is very very average, we didn’t go all inclusive, but those that did that we spoke to, weren’t impressed. • The staff - not the best staff i have encountered in terms of smiles and friendliness. • Pool seating, you have to be there when the pool opens to get seats. I would assume even more so in peak time. All in all, i would come back here, it was decent for what we paid at that time of year. Self catering. Though i have stayed in better places in Greece.

Stunning location, with amazing views looking at mainland Greece across the sea. The sunrises in the morning were magical. No sunsets as that happens behind the mountain at back of hotel. All staff were very nice & help full. Lenny was the entertainment team doing all sorts of things, dart, water pool, DJ etc. Food was fine, plenty of selection, but we did eat out in Skala a few evenings to ring the changes. We booked with TUI and for the price we paid it was very good value. It’s not the Ritz but very good value. If you want better be prepared to pay more The shuttle bus is helpful to get to and from Skala, we also walked into both Skala and Poros and got the courtesy bus back. The timings of the bus are a little odd, especially the one to Poros as if only gives you an hour to looks around the loverly little Greek town, there aresome nice restaurants the overlooking the see, good pretty walk to Poros fairly flat. Also, no evening bus, but local taxis are 8 euro each way and there always a few about. For a week we did not need a car as there is plenty to see in the Skala area by foot, bus, taxi etc The Wi-Fi was excellent worked inside and outside the hotel. Decent Tennis court. Take a snorkel. Well worth doing and safe, sea warm & calm in October. We feed the small fish who hang around the little dock. We were in room 402, a standard room in a god position, pool below us and restaurant upstairs behind us. There is tea & coffee making facilities in the room and a decent small fridge. What they could improve on is better information on what’s happing each day and what the food will be on the evening. Guest newsletter, menu outside restaurant etc. Also, the pools bar food was nice but not available at lunch time. They need to look at cutting down on plastic. Water was in a plastic bottles and all the plastic cups around the pool are single use. It is steep, lots of stairs, so if you’re not very mobile it is not for you. Also did not see much for young children plus the steepness of the resort may be dangerous for toddlers. My only moan is its not as billed, a true 5 star, if it was you pay a lot more. As it classed as 5 star you pay more Tourist tax. Enjoyed our stay and Kefalonia is such a pretty Island.

Had a great 10 night stay at this resort, About 45 mins from the airport by private transfers.Built into the mountainside there are lots of steps up & down from the reception to the restaurant to the swimming pool and then to your room/villa. We also had a villa with private pool, the lounge furniture could do with an update. Tea & coffee making facilities replenished daily, iron & board, towels shower gel & shampoo changed/replenished daily, The villa had a king bed in a large bedroom. separate lounge with sofas table & chairs, large bathroom with shower toilet & bath. In our opinion good food at breakfast lunch & evening meal. We had the All inclusive deal so had free drinks food cocktails ice cream daily. Lovely staff from all the areas reception bars pool drivers restaurants maids. The two entertainment people Lennie & Thomas were great, pool gym stretching, table tennis & darts & evening music karaoke quizzes &dancing. Altogether a fantastic holiday.

We first stayed at the Apostolata in September 2023 and we are very happy to say that nothing has changed for this year and we absolutely still love this hotel. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the food is good with an excellent choice and the views are amazing. There is such a happy relaxed vibe here and would definitely recommend. There are lots of steps but it helps to burn off some calories!
