Hotel Dubrovnik

Dated hotel. Location is in a pedestrian zone. Sunset beach (rocky) nearby. Hotel is tired looking compared to others. Room was very basic. Breakfast was included in our package but not great. Coffee from self serve machine was not drinkable.ask for a coffee from the bar.

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world and I’m not a fussy person but this is one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a hotel. To start off the room was incredibly hot and stuffy and the aircon in the room was terrible, it was extremely noisy and not powerful. You could hear it from all the way down the hallway. It was too noisy for us to sleep with it on so our only chance of getting cool air in the room was to leave it on for a few hours during the day, and whenever we left it on, staff members let themselves into our room and turned it off! Walls were extremely thin and we could hear the conversations of the people in the room next to ours. Not sure what the cleaners did apart from give us new towels every day as our sheets didn’t fit our beds and constantly fell off but were never put back on and beds were never made. The beds were uncomfortable and you sunk right into them. Shower must have been the smallest shower I’ve ever been in - I’m only 5 foot 2 and I didn’t even have enough room to move or wash myself, not sure how a taller or larger person would even fit in! We had no soap which wasn’t refilled during our whole stay. Sink and shower didn’t drain properly. Room door lock was terrible leading to us either spending 10 minutes trying to get into the room or 10 minutes trying to unlock the door to get out (you have to lock it from the inside). Also made us worried about room security as if you pushed hard on the door it unlocked! Breakfast presentation was extremely unappealing - plates of food on a table covered over by moist tissues with flies all around them. Barely ate at breakfast despite it being included in the price. We were spoken to rudely by 3 different members of staff for getting a bottle of water from the fridge in reception and asking staff if we could pay for it - one of them told we couldn’t have bottles of water unless we wanted to sit in the bar area downstairs to drink it? So we had to buy bottles of water to take to our room from elsewhere for the rest of our stay. Also we were charged different prices for small bottles of water each time ranging from €2-4. I would not recommend staying here and would not return.

I was with my friends here,prices are a little bit expensive to be honest when I saw the menu I was like kinda thinking if we should go here I wanted to try some local dish the girl at the front with the brownish red hair told us you should try the cevapci they’re great we went there and tried it they tasted good and also she told us that we have a 10%discount on every meal, we enjoyed everything the food was good but the drinks prices were kinda high Hope they will lower them 😂🙏btw we will be back again

Formidable experience, little tired restaurant but always fresh fish, very tasty. Nice view from balcony. Service and stuff extraordinary. Recommend. Location splendid, near everything in Dubrovnik to see and far enough to be out of crouds

Look for other others! The carpeting in our room was stained and dirty, the sheets and towels were threadbare, the walls were marked and filthy. There was no room to even lay our suitcases on anything but the bed. The water was undrinkable. Doors have to be locked manually both inside and out with an old fashion key that’s not at all quaint. There was garbage sitting in a shelf outside our room and stayed there for over 24 hours. The mattresses were old and over soft. The breakfast looked so awful, we decided to skip and go out.

We had strolled into Lapad for the evening from Babin Kuk. We'd booked restaurants in advance for most of the week but this particular evening we wanted something more relaxed. We thought we'd try the Mexican (which has excellent reviews) but it was closed as it was a Monday, so, on the basis that there were seats outside we tried the Hotel Dubrovnic restaurant. What a mistake! We should have known when it wasn't busy. There was one lad serving. It took a while to get our drinks order (we ordered food at the same time). The menu wasn't huge. We didn't have starters but we'd asked for bread while we waited for our main course. The main course was a good while coming and yes, the bread came with it. We asked them to take it back as we didn't want it with the main, plus it looked really unappetising. I had the Beef stroganoff, usually a favourite of mine. The beef was fatty and the timbale of rice had something on it as well as a yellow stain transferred from the spoon that had been used to present it! My husband had the Filet Mignon - big mistake. Again fatty and inedible, as was the meat platter and spaghetti bolognese ordered by my son and daughter. So much so, that when my daughter got back to our hotel she was violently sick. As you can imagine, we didn't hang around (although we did have to wait for the bill). Those 4 meals plus 2 beers, a glass of wine and an Aperol Spritz cost us 132.50 Euros. We had lovely meals for the same price in both Dubrovnik Old Town and Babin Kuk. Avoid at all costs. It's a tourist trap in the middle of a busy street. Look elsewhere! (On another evening we booked the Madonna Restaurant just a couple of minutes away where we had a lovely dinner and a bottle of wine for the same price).
