There are no words to truly capture the magic of this place. The attention to detail in the design is just stunning - incredibly beautiful paradise in the middle of the jungle. The staff are the kindest I’ve met!!! Brilliant chefs, amazing food, wonderful people, and the magic of nature. Not to mention how wonderful the region is — the wildlife, the hiking, the river, the beaches!! Unlike anywhere else in the world. Can’t wait to come back!

We spent three nights in November 2025. It rained non-stop during our visit. Corcovado National Park was closed and our snorkeling tour of Cano Island cancelled due to the bad weather. We had massages in our room and took a half day mangrove tour up the river which was really nice. We were in Balsa #9 which is small and cozy. The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly. We especially enjoyed the arrival and departures by boat transfer. When we departed, the crew rinsed our feet with fresh water and had a towel for us to use to dry our feet and put on dry shoes. We used water shoes (Keen’s) to get on and off the boat. The lodge has plenty of umbrellas and ponchos.

This place was spectacular, we loved it. The way things are run and organized is seamless. We were greeted at the beach after a fascinating boat ride from Sierpe. Our luggage was delivered to our room/treehouse while we were met with a welcome drink and information from Albert, the manager, on what we could expect for our stay and what was coming up. The property is beautiful, quiet, well cared for, so befitting of the area. The views were terrific from everywhere. The staff was immediately attentive and friendly, the restaurant staff (David, Alonso, Daniel) knew our names and learned our preferences on day one. I really appreciated the level of service we received from everyone on staff. Meals and drinks were fresh and flavorful, snacks were available for order throughout the day. The two tours we took were well-guided and really well organized—to Corcovado NP (many animals, birds, insects) and Cano island for snorkeling. Small groups, great information. Each was a great experience…bucket list for us. Glad we brought binoculars. All in all this was a really special experience for us certainly due to the unique location, but the service and facilities really put it over the top. We will be back.
