This was one of our worst hotel experiences. The location is great, but there are definitely better options nearby. We were stuck with room 209, right by the stairs—the only room they said could fit our family of four. We had booked expecting a renovated room, but instead got one that was outdated and far from what we saw online. To top it off, we had to wait until 12:30 PM to check in, even though check-in time was supposed to be 11 AM. The room faced an internal courtyard, and the noise echoed so much that it was impossible to ignore. With multiple windows and a vent instead of a bathroom window, we could hear everything. Worse, the stairwell light, which stayed on all night, made it feel like daylight in our room. Since Cusco is a hub for Machu Picchu, guests were leaving as early as 4 AM, which meant we were woken up every morning by people chatting and walking through the courtyard. With the noise not dying down until late at night, we barely got any sleep. The bathroom smelled bad, and while there was hot water, the towels, though clean, were torn. Breakfast was disappointing—just bread, butter, jam, and coffee or tea. We had to ask for avocado so our kids had something more to eat.
