We were quite dismayed with our check-in and the room. The first offence was that the office stunk of cigarette smoke. I had booked with ********** but the desk clerk told my husband he had no record of it and offered a rate of $109.00. When my husband said the rate we booked at was $82.00, the clerk said, "Okay. $99.00". My husband came back to me in the car and I gave him my phone with the app, showing our confirmation. My husband showed it to the clerk, who miraculously was then able to find the booking. This scenario makes me think the clerk was trying to pocket $100. The next thing he did was to take a copy of both sides of my husband's credit card, saying it was needed by the police! My husband checked with the credit card company who said this was not allowed and we should cancel the card, which he did. The bed is constructed on what seems to be a platform made for one mattress but they have put on what looks like a thin box-spring topped with a ridiculously thick mattress. (Look at photos.) I am 5'6" and had to pull a chair over to use to boost myself up on to the bed! The edge of the duvet, which was granted supposed to be covered by two sheets rather than a duvet cover (as some places do) was grimey. My husband accidently knocked off the air-conditioner cover and saw a MAT of dust on the filter. This is an old motel and it's nice to see it still going, but they made a mistake on the beds; need to clean the AC filters and the mess outside on the premises. Also, the clerk needs to be investigated.
