Rathbaun Hotel

If you are pet lovers and looking to take your fur babies away this is definitely the place to go. There was myself my husband and our furbaby and our daughter and her partner and their furbaby. Having never taken them to a hotel before we where a bit nervous as to what way things would go. Our pooches are very well behaved but not everyone likes pets and we didn't want to be in the way of someone else enjoying their stay. We needn't of worried. From the moment we arrived we was greeted by the owners daughter who I have to say she made us and our dogs welcome from start to finish. So accommodating and friendly. We where shown to our rooms and no they weren't the most modernists with the fancy of things but what they where absolutely spotlessly clean. We have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels that haven't been as clean and wouldn't of had a patch on this place. I was highly impressed. Our room had everything you could possibly need. A Cosy bed bedside lockers dressing table with chair and stool a wardrobe with ample hanging space. Their are facilities to make Tea and coffee along with complimentary biscuits. There's a hairdryer and a welcome pack with all you need to know about the area and places to visit. The en suite had a toilet sink shower and toiletry facilities along with clean crisp white towels. We had great nights sleep and none of us where disturbed not even the dogs who are light sleepers. We had breakfast each morning and it was absolutely delicious with ample choice. Me being a coffee lover was delighted to get a good size cup of coffee each morning. When checking out again greeted by the owners daughter who was pleasant to talk to as always, thanked us for staying with them and gave us all a complimentary keyring. We Would like to thank the owners John and Lynn who introduced themselves to us when we arrived as if we where friends visiting. That's exactly what it felt like visiting friends who where always on hand to help, make you feel welcome and make you smile and look forward to going back Staff 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Food 10/10

This is an older building that is VERY well cared for. The staff was excellent, accommodating, and friendly. Offered advice on where to go, things to do/see. The breakfast was excellent. If you are looking for a place with an "old time" feel, book here! The only real downside was the parking. It's not close if you are carting bags, and the hotel is right on the street. So if there isn't a spot in front of the building, you could be dragging bags a little ways from your vehicle.

Wonderful location. Pleasant and helpful staff. Extremely well kept and comfortable facility. They have excellent food and service. Planning to hopefully spend more time in the local area on future vacations. Tom B

I went to the restaraunt and had the best lamb stew I've ever tadted. Also the dessert was excellent, and all produced in house. The whole atmosphere was very good. I'll be back.. I'm sure to try out the rooms.

This is an attractive little hotel, well kept-up and immaculately clean. The hotel restaurant’s food was delicious and there was plenty of it; be sure to sample the homemade raspberry jam. The staff was delightful, starting with the proprietor (Lynn), who offered a gracious welcome and good advice on local attractions. She obviously makes a point of hiring nice people, too, because her staff was uniformly charming and friendly. Loved my stay here!

Incredibly inviting! You’re welcomed with open arms and made to feel right at home. It’s location makes for a great time as there are pubs and amazing food at a short walks distance. Absolutely loved this part of our road trip through Ireland!

We’ve just returned after two nights at Rathbaun House. A family run hotel, the stand out feature must be the welcome and friendliness of all the staff. The hotel is spotless and well run. We had dinner and drinks the first evening which were both very good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was very good too with both waitresses extremely Friendly and welcoming. Ideally located for getting to Doolin pier for the ferry to the islands. All and all a lovely stay which we really enjoyed.

The owners, family and staff are wonderful! We were arriving late because we were driving up from Cork, but they waited for us to arrive and helped us with our luggage into the room as soon as we arrived. They were very understanding and were amazing hosts. Breakfast was delicious and we also ate dinner there one night, and it was amazing. Everyone there was so nice and talked to you and asked about our trip and what we had planned and helped point out some places we may want to go see. They were so helpful and the room was perfect for us. Not far from Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher in the town of Lisdoonvarna. Parking is free in a public lot just up the street. Would definitely stay again.

A gem of a hotel. The hotel was like being invited into an Irish home. The proprietors made you feel like you were welcome and appreciated. Family owned and the pride showed in all aspects from the cleanliness of the rooms and bath, to the dinner with its unbelievable tasty prawn salad with a dressing that was the best I tasted in my travels. It is 5 star. The breakfast was made as if you had been called down to the table. Hot and delicious. If you looking for a Holiday Inn, not your place, but if you are looking to travel back to an era when hospitality and friendliness were integral to a stay at a pub/hotel in Ireland, then this is the spot. The hotel was hands down the best of any of the stays we had in Ireland. Would come back again and recommend to all.
