"The hotel is a little tricky to find from the post code. It is behind the David Lloyd sports centre and you have to drive through a barrier to get to the hotel. A quick look on google maps before you visit will help. The rooms are clean and comfortable but basic. Great for a night or two but not good for family or for business travellers who need a desk in the room. Food is basic but good enough, think burgers, fish & chips, Pizza etc."

"We stayed here for an early graduation ceremony in Cardiff. We decided against staying right in the city centre as most hotels didn’t have parking; this was still quick to get into the city even at rush hour (20 minutes) Not very attractive from outside, but inside much better! It was a very hot day, so the air conditioning was very welcome and meant we slept really well. The room was great - we paid extra for the upgraded room and definitely worth it. The fridge in particular was a nice surprise and useful for keeping drinks cold. Walk in shower and choice of shower gel also a nice touch. Couldn’t get the automatic check in to programme my room key, but someone was on hand to sort immediately. Overall, good value for money - and worth it to get a comfortable night’s sleep in a heatwave even if we didn’t have a graduation to go to! We will use again."

"We definitely did not have a great experience staying in this hotel - I would NOT recommend. There was no air conditioning in the room we stayed in. They offered 2 different fans, both of which not being the best of quality. There was lots of noise coming from the main street outside the hotel, granted this is not the hotel’s fault but made it difficult for sleeping. On the second day of our stay, both of our key cards stopped working, conveniently happening at 12pm - their check out time. There was no one available at reception to help us, instead we had to call a phone number and someone had to come down to assist us (which took 15 minutes), meanwhile I was stuck in the corridor in my pyjamas. The elevator situation was also concerning - one of the elevators seemed very unsafe. The lights were dingy and dark and it made loud, squeaky noises whilst going up and down. Overall, not the best experience, but you definitely get what you pay for."

"While the front desk staff person was super friendly, we had a very musty smelling room and absolutely boiled on a very hot night. We thoroughly enjoyed an evening down at the wharf, but the room was not great. We were told that the hotel is slated to be pulled down and that upgrades had not been done for a while. It was just the one night for us, and off to the airport in the morning (short 15 mins to Cardiff airport), but not a great hotel experience. Must admit, the price was a budget price, so we were not expecting too much!"

"Overall a good choice to reduce the cost of a long weekend stay as the city centre Premier Inns are considerably more expensive. Great parking facilities and lovely staff. Rooms are windowless, but well kitted out (no drink making facilities) and well maintained. The superb AC was a boon in 29C weather! A great bus service into the city centre is only a short walk away as are several supermarkets and food chains. Only gripe was being provided one pillow and one towel per person and having to pay for extras."

"The parking was difficult - you had to go down a very tight, windy lane with a shutter at the bottom which was down! Apparently it went up when you get really close to it but it wasn't clear. They also would not give any details about free parking anywhere (I went to Radyr station which was free parking and only £3.60 for a ticket back). Room was very nice but internet was patchy which meant the TV was unwatchable! We also couldn't turn it on at the start - but that was just batteries! I asked at reception and they sent room service up to give us some! Random why they just couldn't at reception! Restaurant looked very nice but we are out. Place is clean and close to the city centre."

"We had a few issues leading up to the booking with Trip booking us 2 rooms by mistake but it was no problem to sort out with the hotel; they could see it was a duplicate and it was sorted. The hotel were very good at replying to emails and phone calls too. When we arrived (late at night) reception was manned and they were very friendly and helpful. We stayed for 2 nights and loved the location as it was just off a main road that we could take to drive into Cardiff or to Newport easily. But not close enough to the road to be bothered by road noise. There is also a very nice pub on site - we didn’t make it to eat there but it was lovely to have a few drinks."

"The location was really convenient, just a 10 minute walk from the rail station and the staff was really friendly and hospitable. The only real issue was the heat in the room which was a real bummer.. the staff tried their best by providing us with a fan and a cooler but it was still really inconvenient to sleep in after a point. But take nothing away from the staff!"

"I stayed here for a business trip for one week. The room seemed to be clean but it is so dark that you can’t really tell if it is clean or not. That’s actually an issue - the lightening is bad. I couldn’t really work in the room since it had only a yellow ambient lightening and not a normal main source of light. The bathroom can be slightly cold if you don’t leave the door open so that warm air from the A/C can enter. It is shameful that they don’t have a breakfast included, especially for long stays in the hotel which is not so cheap and out of the center… at least one small sandwich would make things better, but nop 👎🏼. Another thing is that the area is not very nice. Unless you have to do something in that area, i don’t recommend you to stay. I was even told by taxi drivers to not walk around alone after it gets dark. Before I knew that, I did take a walk and it really felt a bit unsafe. The staff was ok, I didn’t have much contact with them. Only had an incident when I arrived - they couldn’t find me in their system (it was booked under other name by mistake but I actually changed it a week before arrival so I don’t know why they didn’t have updated information). There is a small gym, but almost all machines, except one, are for cardio exercises. Almost no restaurants or shops in the area."
