Hotel Cala Bona

Heading to the airport after an amazing stay at this gem. Spotlessly clean. Beautifully prepared food. Hot plates. Hooray ( so many hotels dont!) Pool fabulous. Still cold as early season but dared it anyway. Claire and David in the snack bar helpful and friendly. The star in this crown has got to be the new spa. Small indoor pool . It's free at the moment. You needed to book a slot as numbers are limited but totally worth it. Entertainment grest and bar/ waiting staff exceptional. Well done cala bona. If I had to find a negative... nope actually can't think of a single thing. Well done Cala Bona. We will be back Room 358

Had a fabulous holiday in Cala Bona, such a beautiful place. We booked a superior sea view room, our room was first floor overlooking harbour, there was a tree directly in front of our balcony but had views from sides. Won’t be booking superior sea view room again, the view is what you are paying for, rooms are basic. Food was okay, at times streaky bacon at breakfast was burnt to a crisp, eggs were runny, on one occasion I asked chef to flip my egg, he said something to other chef and they both laughed !! made me feel a bit embarrassed and uncomfortable, so continental it was for rest of stay. You had to go for evening meal which was okay, but often cold, early, in order to get a seat for evening entertainment which was excellent. Guests from other hotels can come and see entertainment, always a great a**osphere. Pool area was lovely apart from the building work still going on in adjacent building. Most of the staff are super friendly you will never pass reception without a smile. Hotel is lovely and clean.

The food was amazing the room’s were cleaned every day the pool was was warm and there were pool side entertainment for all people and it’s very disabled friendly the reception staff are very friendly and the restaurant is very clean and tidy

10/10 all the way pools great staff food this was the 3rd time and we will definitely be back next year if not sooner. David in the bar dose a great john smith and G@T maria also is lovely they all make the holiday special. thanks to you all xx joe Edmondson and gillian

I was here due to family saying it's the best hotel around cala bona but I can say I thought otherwise as first asked for drink in bar and they said we bring it to table no problem, but then as it got busier the service went down hill next drink took 30 minutes to wait for and then only 2 drinks turned up, I paid the guy and never gave me any change, I don't mind tipping works but that's by choice not for them to choose, a few days before I had a few ice cream there and there prices for the food is well over priced seen the evening entertainment and that was not up to good quality and only on for 1 hour 15 minutes, I been there twice would not recommend

Just returned from a week at this hotel and can honestly say we could not fault a single thing. Firstly and a total credit to them is the wonderful friendly and attentive staff, nothing was a problem. My mother in law in gluten intolerant and the staff went above in the dining room, there was a seperate area with cereals, breads, cakes, biscuits etc there own toaster etc, the staff showed a menu every morning and asked if there was something she would like made freshly. The food is probably the best we have had anywhere, the choices and quality far exceeded what we expected. The entertainment was great although a bit of a squeeze for seats with people keeping seets for others. The bar and waiting staff were a joy. From the welcome on arrival to the ladies on the housekeeping team everyone was joyful and helpful and it seemed genuine niceness, there is a real old fashioned sense of customer service. We could not fault a thing, yes the views from some rooms may not be the best but does not take away from how gorgeous it is. The pool is superb and every area of this complex is nipping clean. A lovely thought as we checked out the staff had a birthday card and chocoltes for my husbands birthday, lovely touch

A last minute deal to our favourite hotel. Met by the lovely Elaine on reception. The staff really are so lovely and helpful throughout the whole hotel. It has had a lovely upgrade since we last visited in September. It was lovely to be there for the opening of the new spa. Food was excellent as usual. Juan the lifeguard was his very helpful self once more. Unfortunately our side room in the Pergola block wasn't the best with a very dodgy shower but it was a cheap deal so can't really complain and unfortunately we had very noisy neighbours using bad language out on the balcony etc. but can't blame the hotel for that and previous rooms we have had have been really quiet with no problems. Won't stop us returning in June and September.

Just returned from our 5th stay here, so some way to go to compete with other returners who have 30 years under their belts. We asked by email for the same room in Reception block as previously and our request was met. The hotel has had a bit of a makeover since last year with white marble stairs, floors and glass panelling. The old sunbed by the dining room has gone which is a shame. We thought it was a bit stark and needed some softening and colour. The dining room also has been changed. Chefs all on show now cooking most of the food there and bar waiters also working in there, meeting and greeting. We have had excellent food in the past, and enjoyed most of it this time, especially the fish. Some things like turkey skewers were awful, as was lamb shoulder, and roast beef. Why did they not taste like turkey, lamb and beef? The breakfasts were excellent. Bacon now cooked by chef and well done, not just on the ends in a tray! Plenty of choice of fruit, cereals and pastries. We ate far more than was good for us! The meal times have been extended with breakfast served until 10.30, dinner from 6.45 - 9.15 pm. The entertainment at night was good, some much better than others. The Motown group were outstanding, the opera- singing comedian was entertaining and certainly worked hard for 2 hours. Others not so good. We wish HCB would do something about guests from other hotels being allowed in to the entertainment before us residents have finished dinner. It makes it difficult if not impossible to get a seat, and we saw residents having to go elsewhere. If anyone is wondering about the new apar**ent block overlooking the pool area, this is still unfinished and is now at 4th floor level. I wouldn't think it would be occupied this season. It doesn't affect sunbathing as it is on the east side so the sun is moving round to the west. We didn't try the new spa and indoor which is below the pool bar. Last year I gave my review 5 stars as I couldn't fault HCB. This year I think the points mentioned warrant 4 stars. Even so we love Cala Bona and would return there and to HCB in a heartbeat.

Excellent barista style coffee , best we had on our trip , great location to watch the world go by , good prices too . Right in the harbour. Service was quick considering how busy it was . I would return and consider the hotel in the future. 5 stars
