San Diego Guest House - Near Pleasure Beach

The hotel is a dump. The rooms are very dirty and there are beds everywhere being advertised as double rooms. The cellar is even being let out for rent even though it is being used as a store room . The cleanliness is non existent and there is a funny smell all through the hotel. The rooms are cheap but even then not worth the money. The owner has no rules at the hotel and it looks like guests are allowed to run round all the private areas and the owner does not care,

Booked San Diego Hotel Blackpool for seven nights for myself, partner and 2 children aged 10 and 11 years and I also contacted property a couple of weeks prior to arrange a parking permit. Everything was paid in advance. Arrived at property on time, to be told there was no room for us. No apology just a matter of fact 'we've given your room to someone else' The man then said there was a room he could let me have and took me down stairs to a damp cellar, with one double bed and mould on the walls, no windows,through a storage area of past disused items like a broken washing machine etc. blocking corridor. Needless to say I refused the room as it was clearly unfit for human habitation and also a potential fire trap. The hotel upon entering had no proper reception area, just a very untidy room with a large table full of disorganised paperwork. Not particularly clean looking, and what used to obviously be a bar area now disused. Please avoid this place, it is just awful beyond words. The people running it do not have a clue what they are doing.

Leaving here after a 2 day stay. The rooms weren’t the cleanest and upon arriving the gentleman handed me my keys and as I entered the room it hadn’t been cleaned yet. He was quick to offer me a different room however the bedding had chocolate on it and the lock was not safe at all, as after a firm push the door opened without a key. I explained that I want to feel safe as it was just myself and my daughter and he offered me a 3rd room and this was okay. The man who owns this couldn’t have done more, he assured me I would be safe and offered help whenever I needed it. I thought breakfast was included, however this was not the case. He had bread to make toast but this was 2 weeks out of date. He really did try his best though. There were no en-suite rooms so had to leave my daughter in the room in the middle of the night to go to the toilet. Overall this place is cheap and cheerful but I probably would not return.

All bedrooms are clean fresh linen and fresh towels love this place great people and close to the shows and south pier great places to go for something to eat and not far from the tram stop either .. it’s a great family home for anyone who wants a great place to go to all the best Mary n bill on ur retirement

The San Diego Guest House is a fantastic wee spot! They gave us an amazing welcome, so generous with their time and ready to help out, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The beds and pillows are also seriously comfy, at this price you should 100% grab a room here instead of the chain next door 👍

Me and my partner had a lovely stay, very warm welcome by the hosts, the room and en-suite was perfect and was very quiet which meant we got a good nights sleep. Comfy bed too! The cooked breakfast was amazing too and has filled us for the day, the drinks at the bar were cheap, Brill location which is an added bonus, we will definately stay here again on our next trip to Blackpool, Many thanks again!

I stayed here on my own 16th / 17th September 2022 to see the Illuminations. Lovely, cosy, homely feel. Prices are really good and the rooms are lovely. Very basic, but very clean. Mary & Bill are very welcoming.

We stayed here having never stayed in a B&B and only big hotel chains before and honestly after our experience here I will always choose a B&B and when we come back to Blackpool this will be 100% the place we book again! The cleanliness was insane it was cleaned at least once a day and we were offered in our very short stay a change of bedding half way through! The entire place was immaculate and smelt lovely. The room had all the facilities that were needed and was super convenient with excellent Wi-Fi! Mary and Bill were the loveliest people and made our time such a cozy, friendly stay, always asking us if everything was okay and interested to see what we were doing. Overall was an incredible place I’d give it a 10/10 in all fields and would love to return! Thank you so much for making our week perfect!!

This is my second visit here. As usual, Bill and Mary were fantastic hosts. The room (and entire guest house ) is spotless, and, like last time the breakfast was fresh, hot,and plentiful. (Didn't have my breakfast in day two, as we had a late night, and I slept in 🤣) We , rather stupidly, went for a walk next to the sea, when it was absolutely gale force winds, and got drenched, so had to go back and change. The lovely Mary offered to put our soaked jeans in her drier, which was above and beyond, so many thanks for that As usual, a top stay, and will return without a doubt Stephen
