A lovely hotel with amazing service people. Our original booking is with one of the standard room but was upgraded to a better room when the hotel have more vacancy after the second national conference. The first rooms we are assigned are very hot as it is centralised HEATING in the winter months with no cool air setting in that period. After we are upgraded to a windowed room, we simply turned off central heating and left the window open with a crack throughout the day. Location was central to the palace and national museum as well as WangFuJing shopping street. Only down side to the hotel is their daily breakfast. While the spread is reasonable, the taste and service during breakfast left much to be desired. I recommend skipping the hotel breakfast unless you are rushing for time Special shoutout to 想想 Timi for the great service on our stay and checkout day.

We had a great stay at JIANGUO Hidden Hotel Beijing! The location is fantastic—just a short walk from Jinyu Hutong metro station (Line 8), and the hotel is surrounded by several shopping malls, making it super convenient for dining, shopping, and exploring. The hotel was very clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Our room had a great ventilation system and large windows that brought in lots of natural light. We were also pleasantly surprised to find mosquito nets on the windows, which is quite rare for hotels and a really thoughtful touch. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and flexible—we originally booked a smaller room, but they kindly upgraded us to a more spacious one with a bathtub. If I had known how much better the bigger room is, I would’ve definitely paid the small extra cost from the start. Totally worth it! We also appreciated the good Chinese breakfast, convenient delivery robots, and free luggage storage. All of these small touches added up to a really comfortable and smooth experience.

This hotel is very pleasant. The rooms are clean and modern, even if not particularly spacious, and I enjoyed seeing and hearing the robots as they moved around the reception area into the lifts. The breakfast was superb – varied food, and lots of it. The staff were wonderful, although not much English was spoken. The location is great, being at the junction of two subway lines and the Capital Airport Express. The only possible downside was that the aircon didn’t work particularly well in the rooms, although I’m told the weather was unusually warm for the March 2025 days when I stayed. I'm not quite sure where I should provide some comments about travelling around Beijing. It can be quite a culture challenge if, like me, it is your first visit to Beijing, and you do not speak the language. The usual approach for any visitor to a foreign country is to ask staff at your hotel, or to stop passersby, or to consult something like Google Maps. The first two of these are possible, but, in view of the lack of any widespread use of English by the Chinese, the answers provided might not be readily understood by the questioner. This situation is not helped by the fact that the English translations of various Chinese place names can have different spellings, which makes it hard to identify where exactly any particular place is located. In addition, the Beijing subway is vast, and can take a long time to travel around. The interchange between lines can be as much as 10-15 minutes. Yet further, the subway stations themselves are massive, with sometimes as many as six exits. These are also sometimes 10 or 15 minutes walk away from each other. So there is a risk that you could emerge into the open air without really knowing where you are. For info, I attach a March 2025 photo of a plan of the Beijing subway. I suggest visitors get to know this well, taking care that you don't confuse (as happened with me!) one like-sounding station with another. As for online maps, the great Chinese firewall makes it tricky to consult and use the Internet with any great facility. I found that it took a long time to plan any travel around the city. For instance, I wanted to visit the Marco Polo bridge, which in 1937 was the scene of a skirmish, or battle, between the Japanese and the Chinese in 1937. But could I work out how to get to this site? In a word, no. I simply could not establish the route, or how long it would take, or which suburban railway or subway line I should use. So I gave up. I suspect that it would be possible with some form of guided tour but that would need to be planned in advance. I could also have used a taxi, I suppose, except I couldn't get to grips with the ride hailing app Didi. In summary, Beijing is a lovely place. The architecture is amazing. The people are friendly. Hotels are affordable and clean. One feels safe. Food is tasty. The culture and history is, naturally, sensational. I'm very much in favour in fostering good relations between the West and China. But western tourists should suspend your normal approach to sightseeing. Be prepared for internet restrictions, and language issues, to make it a lot harder than usual to get around or visit places. The authorities and the various travel organisations steer you towards organised tours, so maybe the best idea is to buy into this concept. Or perhaps you can get a Chinese buddy to explain things. So my advice is to visit Beijing with an open mind and be prepared to be patient, and play by the rules rather than trying to be too independent.

Amazing hotel, cute little backyard with blooming trees in spring, close to the subway, perfect service, everything is clean and tidy, cleaning every day, everyone is polite and helpful, staff go beyond to make sure you’re happy, complimentary drinks and snacks, laundry room with dryer and iron - free and easy to use, gym, can receive Taobao parcels and food orders; overall I would definitely choose this place again.

Convenient hotel in the heart of the city within walking distance to major attractions such as Forbidden City, and a short stroll to Tiananmen Square. Metro station is about 3 mins walk away. Staff were friendly and ready to lend a hand in any way. Bed was comfortable and generally the room was clean. No issues about noise despite being only on the second level. Toilet seat is automatic. You can also send your online parcels to the hotel and they will keep them safely for you, likewise food deliveries will be either stored on the front counter for you to self collect or they will use their robot to send it up to you (this takes some time so self collecting is a much more efficient mode) Some slight negatives - although the room was generally clean, I found stray hairs occasionally (eg in the sink) and also saw a small fake eyelash on the bath towel once. The AC wasn’t working (only fan mode was operational) which meant that the room could get warm on hotter days - the staff explained that this was because the weather outside was still cold. During my time, only the first day was warm, and the other days were pretty ok. You can open the window (though very small and with no view) to let some air in, and also use the in-room air purifier to circulate the air. Other than that, the stay was extremely pleasant and staff were also accommodating to let me check out later!

This used to be Penta Hotel, now rebranded as new world tongpai. Located just behind New World Shopping Centre. If you are using the subway, please use Exit C or Exit H. Can also enter into M Cube Shopping Mall on LG floor and exit from Tim Coffee/Tours Bakery (ground floor) if u r using metro.The hotel entrance is just accross the road. Hotel lobby is modern. Room wise is ok and quite nice. Bathroom is slightly dated, and there's some mould between tiles gap. Otherwise, everything else in the room works fine. Their buffet breakfast is good for a 4 star hotel. Overall, if u want a hotel near the subway and surrounded by malls, this hotel is a good choice

It's my second stay in this hotel for a long layover in Beijing, the location is just a few minutes from ghe Capital Airport. I'm pretty satisfied with the service, the staff is kind and can speak English, which isn't a common skill for most hotels in China. The pickup and drop-off service is good and easy to find because the van has a logo to recognise it. I also liked the complimentary drinks and fruits.

This Mercure hotel is located in the embassy area so we feel pretty safe. The staff are absolutely lovely. They are always happy to help. Free complimentary bottled water is provided. Location wise, it is near the Chaoyang men station. 15 min to Tian'an men square and national museum. The interior is a nice classic french style. Chinese and western style breakfast, good for international and domestic customers.

A hotel not to be missed, if one plans to stay at Qianmen or 前门。The venue - Qianmen itself is a tourist spot, thus when one steps out of the entrance of the hotel, you will immediately get into an environment filled with traditional Beijing ambience. Then the room that I stayed is large with functional layout and cosy L-shaped sofa. The breakfast choices were plenty and the wanton supper was so handy especially in the chill winter night. The staff was very helpful. Two staff: Jac & Vivian, both use their hp to help us booked tourist venues and made purchase through ”Meituan” when we lost our gloves. Vivian told us she will inform us to go to collect from the counter when the gloves arrived, but in the end, she sent the gloves to my room via the robot (as the attached picture). Such service is world class. We will go back to this hotel, should we go to Qianmen again.

Checked in for 5 days 4 nights and decided to extend another 3 days 2 nights. The location of the hotel is convenient, and have easy access to mini marts and eateries. The subway station is not too far from the hotel as well. The room we booked was clean. Bed, pillows and comforter were soft and fluffy. The bathroom was spacious, bathtub was clean. They also had a separate shower area. As we travelled with a toddler, the cleaners were generous with the bottled water. They also offered us a humidifier. There’s also a smart system in the room where you can ask 小度 to turn the curtain/lights/aircond/tv on and off easily. We also ordered quite a number of Taobao orders. The front desk were helpful when we asked if they could help to call the courier to track our parcels. There’s also a robot to deliver things to your room whenever needed Breakfast is simple but delicious. You can also order noodles from them. There’s also a laundry area for travelers to clean their clothes, and this is convenient for us as we did not bring lots of clothes. Overall, it’s an amazing stay here at Right Hotel. The hotel’s staff members were friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back again and recommend this hotel to my friends and family. 10/10 for Right Hotel.
