Choice Hotels are not the best. So I knew when I was selecting this, not to have high expectations. HOWEVER, It had some really good ratings, so I thought that maybe this would be a new hotels.
I was definitely wrong on that. It is older and it is evident that the owners could care less about the optics. The chair the desk clerks (I don't know the proper title) were using was ridiculously old and used. The material had been rubbed off on half of the darn chair! An office chair is $100 at Staples or Office Depot. You mean to tell me NO ONE can purchase a chair! How cheap is that!?? OUTRAGEOUS. The foyer furniture looks like the 60s and and is very old also--once again, how much does furniture cost that a hotel can't purchase some new furniture for this very small foyer area. The chairs at the tables in the dining area were almost as bad as the office chair, they had the original material rubbed off on the sides.
The phone in my room didn't have a cord, I walked downstairs and informed them of that. My room smelled like mold. I DID expect the furniture in the room to be older and it was.
Other than that, it was quiet (which I appreciated) and the staff were pleasant, courteous and professional. It just seems their leadership does not care too much for their customers (because of the optics), nor their employees, if they can't get up enough money to buy one office chair. I won't be staying here again.
