This was, without a shadow of the doubt, one of the best experiences and certainly the best one in China. The hotel is brand new and has been built with highest quality materials. Both the design and scale of the project, conference centre next door is being finished, are impressive to say the least. Service was fantastic with extremely helpful and polite staff. Food... amazing variety and high quality! We took our bikes to cycle around the lake, so the location for us could not be better. Close to the lake but in a nice and quiet spot, in contrary to many other hotels on the other side of the lake. Pretty cool swimming pool with smallish fitness area attached. The on-site café with outside area was very cozy but we only tried cakes and tea, not sure about the quality of their coffee. Overall, highly recommended! As we live locally, we will definitely consider coming back.

The hotel was just okay. The view from the corner rooms was good. One thing to note about this hotel before booking is the breakfast style, which is à la carte. They only provide local food with a voucher of 40 ¥ for each person, and if it goes above this amount, they charge for it. It’s not foreigner-friendly. The rooms had a bad smell. We asked the front desk to change the room, but the new room had the same problem.

excellent: the food and beverage manager and restaurant staff were always friendly and the food was excellent (though I think the price of a beverages is outrageous). the Thai curry is highly recommended.

the check in and checkout - first and last impressions need to be improved. check in we didn't receive a friendly smile to guide us to the counter, check out was a long queue
during the busy time, more shuttle cars are required, we had several 20-30minutes wait times and guests act a bit silly and selfish, pushing to get on the shuttle bus even when families with small children where waiting longer. it was 40degrees Celsius so walking was not a safe option.
I had to call three times to get housekeeping on the first day and was told usually housekeeping only come every second day, which doesn't make sense. I don't need my bed made or towels changed, but I do need the trash removed daily. a bit of a strange policy for a pretty expensive hotel.
the play are for kids is nice and the staff are generally friendly and patient.

Because the hotel documents were wrong, I was upgraded to a suite in a timely manner, which was unexpected and very happy!
We walked all the way through Dongqian Lake to the hotel. The scenery along the way was beautiful. It would be more beautiful if it was sunny!
Arriving at the hotel, it was like a wanderer returning home. The hotel waiters warmly welcomed us. Every employee would greet each other when they met. The fork would warmly guide us. When we checked in, the waiter personally carried the luggage to the room! So the hotel service is still very good👍!
The environment, let alone, the lobby is warm and comfortable, the hotel is warm like spring, 🈶 different rest environments, people can find a suitable place! Outside the hotel, 🈶 sky curtain 🈶 river pond, there is barbecue entertainment under the sky curtain, and 🈶 black swan duck in the river pond! Backed by mountains and facing the water, surrounded by green, it is very comfortable!
The hotel breakfast is rich and varied, with fresh ingredients, a wide variety of hot and cold varieties, exquisite Chinese and Western dim sum, and the key taste is not bad!

The B&B is very good overall. The book bar, coffee bar and Chinese courtyard on the first floor are great. There is a public parking lot downstairs. Hanling Old Street is right outside. Dongqian Lake and Hanling Art Museum are across the street. The location is also excellent. There are many snacks and restaurants around. The only drawback is that the slide in the parent-child room is not designed properly. The angle is too steep and cannot be used. There is no fence in the parent-child room. But there are toys, toiletries and slippers for children, which can be improved.

The room was very clean, there was a projector, a coffee table computer and a bathtub, the interior decoration was very beautiful, the toiletries were compressed face towels and wooden combs, which was very pleasant. The hotel is in the middle of the old street, but it is not noisy. The boss will drive a battery car to pick up and drop off at the entrance of the old street. It is recommended to increase bicycle rental services to facilitate guests to go around the lake.
The boss has been chatting with the elderly at home, and prepared nutritious porridge in the morning, and the elderly are also very satisfied.

GGuest UserNice resort for families with lots of activities for the little ones. Highlight was the service and all staff were friendly especially Mona who also spoke English well and shared her wechat and checked with us everyday to ensure our stay was pleasant. Bon fire and fireworks for Chinese new year were an added bonus. Mona also helped us book a BBQ tent which was a nice experience by the lake. The play area is large and could use a facelift as some areas seem dated. Buffet breakfast was nice with the usual fare and a nice touch to give the kids a small gift when they clean their plates. Although it’s winter, the temperature was quite warm and the room AC could only be used as a heater which made the room too warm so we turned off the AC and left the windows open. Car parking was mostly full during the holidays but we managed to get a slot to charge the electric car. Overall a pleasant stay.

GGuest UserThe location of the B&B is very good. It is a renovation of an old house. The proprietress is very welcoming. She waited at the gate in advance and helped with the luggage. She treated us like relatives visiting during the Chinese New Year. It felt like home.
It is best to stay overnight in the ancient town. It is especially good to visit in the morning and evening.

GGuest UserBest Hotel we have visited in China within it’s cost to service ratio. You get real value for your money and this experience is therefore unmatched by any other hotel we have stayed at.
From arrival, you are welcomed at your car with a friendly portar that accompanies you to the reception desk with your luggage and after check-in to your room. Check-in was quick and easy with the friendly and efficient staff.
We had only told the hotel it is an anniversary stay. Our room was made-up with folded swan-towels on the bed and scattered balloons with rose petals.
You can go for a walk throughout the area all the way to the nearest swimming beach built on the lagoon (Ningbo Binhai Thousands of People Sand Beach) entry fee of 30RMB per adult on weekdays and 60RMB on weekends. About 10 to 15 minutes walk from the hotel.
The hotel has a bar where you can have cocktails and food professionally made with some of the best ingredients. Don’t get dissuaded by the price tag. (I would however say the service is extremely good but slow during the week at the bar. ) Be patient, relaxed and enjoy the bar. It is worthwhile and great value. Would highly recommend the Burger and Mojito.
The staff left us a complementary fruit and cake basket with a bottle of wine and some soup for a night snack.
You can visit the Chinese Fishing Village in Xiangshan. It cost about 646RMB to go there and back and the ride takes between 90 and 120 minutes. Entrance is 60RMB per adult. You can rent a tent and chairs at the beach for 100rmb for the first hour and 50rmb for each additional hour. I would highly recommend taking your own towels with some water bottles to wash your feet when leaving the beach. You can pay 25rmb per person at the facilities next to the beach to wash your feet or take a shower(the facilities are not good). There are slow Quad Bikes to ride on the beach and Jet Ski’s on the water. The quad bikes are about 100RMB for 15 minutes.
Room service can be sent to your room with the food kept warm in a small oven under the kart for your convenience.
When requesting some water or small items at night, the staff can sometimes send the items with a robot to your room.
The hotel has a swimming pool that you can use anytime within the schedule. We could use the swimming pool any time between 08:00 in the morning and 21:00 in the evening. You can request a towel at the pool reception desk on the swimming pool floor.
I would highly recommend this hotel for a break away from busy life. You can come here to relax with world class service at a valued price.

NNgaire323We went to this lovely hotel in the ‘Cloud Forest’ directly after National Holiday with our family of 4 (2 toddlers) and my parents. We had two Songyuan rooms which were totally amazing. Stunning view of the trees and river and extremely spacious and thought out.
In fact the entire resort is beautiful and our kids LOVED the golf cart rides to dinner.
We got very unlucky with weather as it poured the two days we were there but we still managed the walk to Chiang Kai-sheks villa and water feature - which was beautiful and interesting.
On a slightly different note, with a western perspective there were a couple areas for improvement.
Ideally the restaurant menus could be translated to English and left in the rooms (it’s a nightmare trying to translate a menu, pick what to order with 2 hungry kids at a restaurant).
Also, the playroom wasn’t a playroom while we were there which was a big disappointment since it was raining. Not as advertised - just carpet in a room (which the kids did still have fun running around on).
Finally, a good hiking map of the area in the room would have been appreciated too.
