Don't stay here. My worst ever experience I am affriad. Room stunk of sewage. We checked other floors and similar smell, so not just an unlucky room selection. In room facilities are sparse. No toilet paper. They instuct you to go to a shop to get some....a 15min walk. Will also need for dishwasher to get detergent. We moved to another hotel. Will ruin your holiday if stay here. Don't risk it.

I can only reiterate what Michael wrote in August 2023 and agree totally with his assessment. My opinion is the location is fantastic, the apartment spacious and adequately equipped. The balcony was perfect for alfresco meals with the most fabulous view. We travel with carry on only so we bought a knife and some dishwashing detergent when we arrived. We self catered some of our meals and were happy with the kitchen equipment and supplies. There is noise on Friday and Saturday nights till the early morning but nothing some earplugs would not fix or the place is not for you. After some of the reviews I was very pleasantly surprised at the apartment and the location.

Having read mixed reviews on Tripadvisor, we were unsure what we would find. We have returned from a great holiday, most of the negatives we had read were not our reality. The staff, despite the language barrier, were without exception helpful, friendly and courteous. A couple of minor issues were dealt with speedily - an English/French dictionary would have been helpful for communicating technical issues not covered by tourist phrase books! The apartment was huge, light and clean, if a little dated in places. Bedroom large, plenty of wardrobe space/hangers, and shelving. Queen bed was comfortable, with quality sheets and a duvet. Kitchen reasonably well equipped, with induction hob, oven, microwave, coffee maker, but were glad we took a good kitchen knife and a dish brush and dishcloths. Bathroom was big, clean and no issues with hot water; shower towels/bathmat supplied, but take your own face cloths. The balcony was large and sheltered, with great views over the Baie des Citrons and lovely sunsets. Clothes washing not a problem with a good washing machine and large clothes airer. Apartment was not serviced, so you are responsible for taking the rubbish out - not a problem. You have to provide subsequent rubbish bags, and also toilet paper. At the end of the stay, you undertake to leave the apartment in a clean state - a broom and dustpan-and-brush is provided. The building is in a good location, less than 2 minutes walk to the bus stop and Baie des Citrons beach, and close to multiple cafes/bars/eateries. A small but adequate supermarket is an easy 15-20 mins walk away, also close to bus stops and an excellent bus service. Food prices are pretty close to NZ prices, so no nasty surprises there. We had read one review on this site that said beaches were closed until the end of 2023 - this is not so! The Baie des Citrons beach is completely open, while the Anse Vata beach is having work done along the promenade and small sections are closed, depending on where work is being carried out. We were there during the last week of July and the first week of August. Had a lovely holiday in an excellent location, and recommend the Casa del Sole as a well-priced and pleasant place to stay.

Our family of four just spent a week at Casa del Sole in a 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor (16). The location is perfect, sitting right between Baie des Citrons and Anse Vata, which means incredible views from the rooms. The balcony had a table and some lounge chairs so was a great place to eat meals. But we spent most of our time out and about - evenings on Baie des Citrons watching the sun go down were magical. We knew ahead of time to bring supplies including dishwasher tabs, dishwashing liquid, some extra toilet paper etc so were not concerned about this. There was soap and body wash in the apartment. Kitchen equipment was basic and wouldn’t cater for complex cooking but was fine for the occasional meal we prepared. The supermarket at Port Plaisance was a 15 minute walk or a short bus ride. We arrived late at night and were sent good instructions for access via key safe, although didn’t realise until the next day that lights in the hallways are on a timer so it was dark as we came through. But again, no big problem. The shower was a bit ordinary but the kids were happy to have a bath. We didn’t try the hotel WiFi as we rented Pocket WiFi, which was delivered to the hotel and gave great portable signal for the whole holiday. Casa del Sole is not a luxury hotel, but we would definitely stay there again. It was excellent value for money compared with other apartment-style hotels. Last time we were in Noumea we stayed at Anse Vata but we much preferred this location. Can’t wait to return.
