Villa Balú

God location, clean. Small room but well enough. The room only have wooden windows and bad lock. You could hear all guests quite well and did not feel secure with the bad locking of the windows. Breakfast included but at a restaurant at the main square. Breakfast ok but only sugary coffee included and no drinks for the children. We had to pay extra for other type of coffee and they expected tip as well for a breakfast included in the stay. The breakfast included felt a little bit as they only wanted to earn som extra on the guests.

This hotel is such a pleasant surprise. From the moment one arrives and the greeting one receives from its friendly staff. The architecture of the hotel is modern and simplistic. We were on the second floor with a window. You have all the amenities as cable TV, nice WiFi, safe deposit box, hairdrier and espresso coffee machine. You get also daily water bottles. Bathrooms are nice and big. Location is a few blocks to the lake, wide variety of restaurants near the fort. We had breakfast included served at Mestizo's by the Fort. Our special thanks to Juan Pablo, we will recommend this hotel to our friends.

Terrible experience. I felt unwell and wanted to get to a quiet hotel to relax and I arrived because they said there was a coffee machine that made hot water in the room. The machine didn't work, there is nowhere to get water in the hotel. So not a fun experience working around with a fiver looking for water. And they really didn't care. There are ants in the room. The shower takes a long time to work. Oh and They forgot to mention that there are renovations in the building, from morning to evening. Even late in the evening, hammers are still pounding here. Also, they gave me a room in which the air conditioner didn't work. Then they tried to move me to another room where the air conditioner does not work. And finally they moved me to the renovation area in the hallway with terrible noises all day and night. Let's just say that with a fever and nausea moving all your stuff all over the hotel was not fun. In addition to all these, they hardly speak English. And they really don't want to help. For the same money there are other and better hotels.

Me entregaron la habitación antes de la hora, gracias por eso pero estaba sucia, la ropa de cama tenia mocos y cabellos y hasta un mosquito muerto grande, fue un batallar para bajarle al baño todos los días y la regadera tiene una coledera muy vieja con una tapa que tiene hongos, esto se puede arreglar con $1000 pesos de inversión. El personal fue super amable y considerado, excelente servicio de ellos.

El hotel tiene goteras en todo el piso de arriba y todo se encharca cuando llueve y se empieza a meter el agua a las habitaciones, cuidado si les toca una lluvia, aunque sea moderada, se inunda gran parte del piso de arriba. Nos tocó encontrarnos con 2 cucarachas en las recámaras y nos tocó la desgracia de que en el cuarto, alguien del personal del hotel , intento abrir las maletas, pero como tenían un candado digital, pues no lo lograron, pero si, abren maletas, mucho ojo con eso.

Atención rápida, cuartos agradables, baño privado limpio, nos faltaron las capsulas de cafe, las amenidades del baño fueron un poco limitadas en cuanto a higiene, pero fuera de esos puntos muy lugar para descansar e ir de paso. Cerca del fuerte de bacalar.

La ubicación del hotel está bien, a tres calles de la laguna, tres calles del fuerte y de dónde están todos los lugares para comer, comprar recuerdos y el parque principal. La habitación tiene lo necesario, esta bonito el hotel en general, no tiene para desayuno, pero tiene una cafetera para que te prepares un rico café para despertar. 😉 Lo único malo es que nos tocó la habitación 2, cerca del lobby y se escucha todo lo que pasa afuera (cuando llegan los huéspedes en la noche, cuando salen a las 6 am, cuando platican en la recepción, etc.). Pero eso no hará que no regresemos a este hotel!!!
