Magnolia estate is located near Kerela border, towards the end of Coorg (if you are not coming from Kerela ;-)). Its well maintained coffee estate with big rooms/cottages, restaurant and lakes. Before I give further feedback I want to highlight the few fine prints I missed while booking assuming the bar facility and Wi-Fi in rooms will be provided if the resort is charging a premium, but that's not the case. TV also has Tatasky connection but only a few channels work, so if you want to watch TV you would probably have to pay additional charges. So confirm before booking if these things matter to you. We went there as a family of 4, and we overall had mixed experiences. Here is what worked well and later I'll tell you what didn't. What worked well: - Nice clean, serene estate with a lot of natural beauty and with enough social distancing. The walk in the estate and the lake was a real stress buster. - Big rooms so you can spend good time indoors also. Good for a big family with kids. - They arranged a small event for families and kids on new year which was really good and everyone enjoyed it a lot. Thanks a lot! Pravin was very friendly and ***aged the event well. - Staff was polite and smiling (Though not very skilled or committed I suspect) What didn't work well for us: - Room service was slow, but that's understandable since the estate is big and rooms were spread out, but carelessly messing up order is bad. I had to call up after an hour even though the person who took the order said it would take around 30 mins but when i called up they realized they didn't have my order. They took order again and by the time it was delivered to our room it was 1.5hrs and kids were quite cranky. Carelessness of staff was quite evident. BTW they gave me 2 bills for the same dinner at the checkout time even though it was delivered once, which again showed carelessness of staff. Thankfully they removed the wrong bill when I pointed it to them. - Next day when we ordered food we kept a time margin and they took more than enough time to deliver the food but when we unpacked the food we realized that cutlery and plates were not given. I had to again call them up and it took another 10 mins to get it and by that time food had cooled down. Again carelessness and lack of attention to details. - Next morning as we started to freshen up, I realized the water was only trickling through taps in the bathroom. I thought they would notice it and fill the tanks if they were emptied overnight but again they didn't do anything until we called them and complained about no water supply. They said it would come in 15 mins but even after 30 mins it did not start, so we had to wash our faces with bottled water and went to breakfast. luckily by the time we came back water was back and we could take a bath before checking out. Again this showed carelessness on their staff. - When we went for breakfast, it was limited but unlike previous days today we found an insect in idli. After
