Wunderschönes Hotel mit sehr zuvorkommendem Service.

What more can we say about this most perfect of places. We travel from the U.K. twice a year and discovered the Schloss 4 years ago. Returned last week after another wonderful 3 week tour of Deutschland. However, we deliberately left the very best to last and spent our final 10 days here. If anyone wants to experience a truly 5 star hotel where everything is absolutely perfect, then we would advise you to treat yourself and stay here . The rooms and suites in the Castle are exquisite, the food in the Bar and Sclosskeller is delicious and beatifully served and the folks who work here are extremely kind and professional. We have said before that since retirement we have been fortunate to have been guests of some very fine 5 star hotels in the U.K. the USA and Europe. However, in our opinion none have surpassed this wonderful and evocative place. Not only is the Schloss and the gardens and grounds superb but it is situated in the most finest of lands. Surrounded by pristine forests and woods and farmland. So, thankyou again our dear Schlosshotel Munchhausen

This place is AMAZING! We had to change our travel plans for the beginning of a European trip and we found this place to stay for the first 3 days of our vacation. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel or the staff. We had our kids with us ( 7 and 10) and they couldn’t have been happier. The room ( we had a tower suite) was comfortable and cozy. The pool and SPA area was fantastic and the food was incredible. The grounds and gardens were an absolute delight to just walk around in and take amazing pictures. I have to say though that our stay was perfected by the addition of Yankuba Keita ( Yanks as he had my kids call him). He was amazing and went out of his way to make us and my kids feel special. He took time out to play cards and bocce with them and made sure that our stay truly was a memorable one. We hope to be back in the future. After being fortunate to now be retired and travelled a bit in the last few years, staying in nice hotels in both the U.K. Europe and the States, my wife and I have come to the conclusion that the Schloss is the most wonderful of all places and our particular favourite. This was our third stay here after returning to our home in the U.K. We cannot think of a single thing that wasn't just perfect and exquisite. Kind and helpful staff, beautiful and comfortable room up in the Schloss, superb dinners either in the Schlosskellar or the Bar....and the breakfasts !!! Let me just write a bit about the breakfasts served here. You can choose to have breakfasts in any number of beautifully appointed and sunlit rooms overlooking the lovely grounds and gardens. And the choice of fayre offered is breathtaking. Breads, cheeses, cold meats and fish, juices and champagne, cereals and fruit.....before going on to eggs cooked anyway you wish with bacon, sausage etc. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the wonderful staff here. What a wonderful way to start the day before going for a stroll in the beautiful grounds. This is now our " go to " place and we will return every year.....maybe even twice a year.

We have just returned home to the U.K. after a 2 week touring holiday to Deutschland in our car. This was our second stay at the Schloss and for many wonderful reasons, this exquisite place will call us back and back again now. Their is a sense of history and tradition here. When you turn into the magnificent courtyard, you do feel rather special. We spent 6 nights here and could have spent many more as we were so comfortable and utterly entranced. After a superb breakfast each morning served in a lovely dining room by kind and charming folk, my wife and I always " did a turn " .....an English expression !.....in the lovely grounds and sat by the blossoming trees in peace and conten**ent. Our room in the Castle was lovely and we slept well in utter peace and quiet. We never heard another sound, either from outside in the grounds or from other guests. The Schloss is set in magnificent hills with views of farmland and forests. We drove out on some days to tour the countryside and travel the quiet roads of the Weserbergland. And finally the food. We dined either in the Bar or the Cellar Restaurant each evening and the menu and the service was first class. So, we thankyou dear Schlosshotel Muenchhausen for making our stay so memorable and we are already planning our dates to return in October.

We stayed for two nights at this lovely castle hotel. The room was great and and so was the all the staff. The food was really good as well, though perhaps their Michelin starred restaurant was not quite what I would consider Michelin level. The only downside was that people are allowed to smoke indoors. But this is not uncommon in Germany. The hotel is located in a beautiful area and there are things to see. We would love to stay here again.

My wife and I have been driving from the U.K. and touring Deutschland for almost 20 years now and the Schlosshotel Munchhausen is a place that we have always wanted to visit and stay but for various reasons....either time constraints or where the hotel is....we haven't actually been able to make it . However last week we were at last able to see for ourselves how every special and wonderful this place really is. We had just spent a week on the magical island of Slyt but decided to curtail our stay by 1 night there and take a little while longer to head for the Eurotunnel and then home. And so we ended up driving up the magnificent drive to te castle hotel and we were utterly mesmorised by the class and beauty of this place. Our room in the Castle was large enough and very comfortable and you can just feel the history here in your bones. We had pre-dinner drinks in the Great Hallway and a superb dinner, beautifully served in the Cellar Bistro. The next morning after a lovely breakfast of bacon and eggs with breads and marmalade , we took a short stroll through the grounds and gardens. Utterly beautiful and quiet and serene. We unfortunately could only spend a singe night here as our Eurotunnel booking was not a flexible one but we were so taken by this castle hotel, that on checking out, we booked a longer stay of 6 nights in the early Spring of next year when we hope the weather will be a little warmer and the gardens will be in early bloom.

4 Tage im Schlosshotel Münchhausen waren eine sehr , sehr große Enttäuschung. Alle Restaurants waren geschlossen , wegen angeblicher Renovierungsarbeiten. Wir mussten das Abendessen an der Bar einnehmen.Keine Tischdecken, schlechte Bestuhlung Von dem angekündigten Gourmet Essen keine Spur . Nur die Getränke Preise waren auf einem extremen Level Schade das wir das Hotel gebucht haben , aber wir kommen nie , nie wieder .

Es ist eine negative Premiere. Das erste Mal seit 18 Jahren wird das Schlosshotel Münchhausen nicht mit einem Michelin-Stern ausgezeichnet. Das Gourmet Restaurant im Schlosshotel Münchhausen in Schwöbber wird in diesem Jahr nicht mit einem Michelin-Stern bedacht. Die Entscheidung wurde Dienstagabend bekannt gegeben. Zuvor wurde das Restaurant 18 Jahre in Folge mit einem Stern ausgezeichnet – unter der Leitung von Küchenchef Achim Schwekendiek. Seit Februar gehen der Koch und das Schlosshotel getrennte Wege. Vorausgegangen war ein Konflikt um das weitere berufliche Engagement Schwekendieks, als Pächter des Ratskeller in Rinteln. 1576 baute man in der Küche einen Ochsenbräter ein, heute serviert unser Küchenteam ausgewählte lukullische Kostbarkeiten. Ob in unserem Gourmet-Restaurant, dem „1570“–Petit Gourmet, rustikalen Schlosskeller, gemütlichen Rittersaal oder bei einer duftenden Tasse Kaffee mit hausgemachtem Kuchen oder einem Late Night Cocktail in der Schloss Bar SCHWÖBBAR – immer können Sie sich von Symphonien für die Sinne verführen lassen und dabei die besondere A**osphäre unseres Schlosses genießen. Unsere Restaurants erwarten Sie in besonderem, ganz unterschiedlichem Ambiente – von einem 5-Gänge-Gourmet-Menü über Tagliatelle bis hin zum Schnitzel ist für einen leckeren Gaumenschmaus alles dabei. „Haute cuisine à la française“ mit mediterranen Zwischentönen und feine Küche mit regionalem Einfluss …….gibt es etwa doch noch den Münchhausen Lügenbaron …….
