We booked a week at Nireas as a late deal package through EasyJet. For the price we paid, the apartment was brilliant. We had a one bed, which was on the ground floor and had a separate kitchen / living space with extra pull out beds, a shower room, a small terrace off the bedroom and a larger terrace off the kitchen. The apartment was basic, but it was clean and functional and better than we had expected for the price. The kitchen area had a fridge, two ring hob, kettle and microwave. There was a washing line with pegs on the larger terrace which was great for swimwear. Thanks to the layout of the complex and the planting around the site, both terraces felt quite private. The apartment was cleaned frequently and we got fresh towels twice during the week, and the beds stripped and fully remade once. Nireas is a short few minutes walk from the beach and beachfront bars / restaurants in one direction, and a similar distance from the main street of Acharavi with loads of restaurants etc and a supermarket just at the top of the road, so cannot fault the location. We hired a bike and there was no issue parking outside our apartment. This meant we did get out and explore the island so did not spend as much time in the complex as others, but there would be plenty within walking distance if you did not hire a vehicle. We didn’t use the pool and bar area much due to being so close to the beach and town, but it always seemed clean and welcoming. We were able to leave our cases at the bar without issue on our last day after checkout as we had an evening transfer. There was air con available in the bedroom but this is for an extra charge. We prefer not to use it anyway and were fine in the apartment we had without it. Definitely make sure you have mozzie repellent if you’re sensitive to bites as there are a lot around (true for most of the coastal areas if you’re out of the breeze, so not specific to the accommodation, just one to be aware of). In downsides, as per a previous review, we arrived after midnight with two other groups and it was very confusing as no staff / open reception desk, just posters in the reception window telling us which apartments we were assigned to. The reception itself is pretty tucked away and was hard to find after hours of travelling and in the dark, and we were conscious of not wanting to disturb other guests as we wandered about trying to figure out what to do. A heads up about the system or sending some info in advance by email would have made this so much easier. There was some kitchen equipment provided but very limited cutlery / utensils, so while it was fine for us to do breakfast and snacks in the apartment, it would have been a struggle to make a more substantial meal. This may be luck of the draw as to what is provided in each apartment. Although everything was clean, the apartment did show signs of wear and tear, especially in the bathroom and kitchen areas.
