Hotel Bintang 5 di Sabah, Malaysia

Our recent stay at Shangri-La Tanjung Aru was truly magical. We were visiting to celebrate two very special milestones: our 5th wedding anniversary and our youngest daughter’s 1st birthday. Before our arrival, I reached out to the resort to share our situation, hoping for a smooth stay with two young children. Ezmareena Ismail (Nurish) responded promptly, ensuring that the resort was well aware of our needs. Upon check-in, a gentleman named Jordan (if I recall correctly) went above and beyond by upgrading our room to better accommodate the extra bed we requested for the kids. The surprises didn't stop there. When we entered the room, we were deeply moved to find a thoughtful letter and beautiful flowers prepared by the staff to celebrate our anniversary. It was a heartwarming gesture that made us feel truly valued. Throughout our stay, Melania kept in constant touch via text messages to ensure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. Thanks to the incredible staff and their genuine hospitality, our family had a blissful and memorable holiday. I cannot recommend Shangri-La Tanjung Aru enough for anyone looking for an exceptional experience. We are so grateful for the wonderful memories!

We stayed 2 nights and had a fantastic stay despite the bad weather on the first day. We received great services from the resort management team Mr Karl, Ms Siti, Mdm Lydia also from the restaurant and recreational team members. We look forward to be back again!  Booked the family suite that is beautifully furnished and got a fantastic view of Mt Kinabalu from the room as well as variety of fishes swimming below us.  Snorkelling and kayaking are complimentary for the entire day and was great way for us to explore the beautiful waters.  On the last day, we unfortunately left our tablet in the room and we were notified immediately upon arrival at the jetty and the resort arranged it to be delivered to their jetty office within the same afternoon.  Overall it was a great experience and the welcoming and departure greetings by the management team were certainly memorable and beyond our expectations!

Properti ini cukup kuno karena sudah ada selama bertahun-tahun. Kami memesan kamar di sayap taman. Kurang suka dengan desain kamar mandi tanpa area shower terpisah dari bathtub. Meskipun terdapat berbagai macam aktivitas di sekitar, semuanya dikenakan biaya dan sangat mahal. Kami mencoba memesan lapangan tenis, mereka hanya menyediakan raket tetapi disuruh membeli bola sendiri seharga RM56 per tabung. Sarapannya baik-baik saja. Satu-satunya bagian yang menyenangkan tentang properti ini adalah pemandangan matahari terbenam yang menakjubkan dan pantai berpasir halus.

Hotelnya bagus, bersih dan fasilitasnya bagus. Kamarnya bersih, meski tidak baru, tapi semua fasilitas berfungsi dengan baik. Tempat tidurnya nyaman dan masing-masing dilengkapi dengan 2 bantal. Ruangan itu bahkan memiliki meja belajar. Kami menggunakannya sebagai meja makan. Kamar ini memiliki toilet yang unik. Kamar mandi dan toilet dipisahkan dengan pintu yang bersebelahan. Selain itu, dinding dan pintu toilet dapat terbuka penuh sehingga memperlihatkan wastafel dan pintu pancuran serta mangkuk toilet. Anda cukup menggeser untuk menutup semuanya jika Anda menginginkan privasi. Staf hotel juga baik dan segera memenuhi permintaan Anda. Saya meminta bantal tambahan dan mereka mengirimkannya dalam beberapa menit. Sarapannya juga enak dan enak. Mereka memiliki berbagai macam hidangan dari lokal, barat, India, Cina. Meskipun setiap hari serupa tetapi mereka mengubah hidangan tertentu seperti dari mie goreng menjadi kuey tiow goreng, nasi goreng menjadi nasi lemak, dll. Hotel ini juga dekat dengan tepi pantai, tempat makan dan berjalan kaki ke pusat perbelanjaan Suria Sabah. Secara keseluruhan, hotel yang bagus untuk menginap.

The resort is very easy to get to from Kota Kinabalu airport. Using the Grab app makes it convenient to call a car to take you to the Jesselton Point to catch the boat to the resort. The resort is quite beautiful and clean. Reading other reviews, I wasn’t quite sure why several had complaints about the price and food. The food was all excellent - fresh and reasonably priced. We ate at both specialty restaurants as well - Fisherman’s Cove and Omakase - and both were excellent. The breakfast and dinner buffets had a lot of variety to choose from and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we loved the sea view from our terrace. The bathroom was well-equipped and spacious. The pool was very clean and there were plenty of sun chairs to choose from. The gift shop had many cute items. The spa is beautiful and the massage was amazing! What needs improvement - the bathtub in our villa was a bit dirty with some dead bugs. It’s fantastic that they offer a complimentary boat shuttle to the other bay near the marine center but it’s extremely littered with plastic. I asked the staff for a garbage bag and ended up collecting about 5 kg worth of garbage from the beach and sea. This should be the government policy or authorities responsibility - they need to clean it up and charge fines for littering. Overall, we loved this resort and wanted to stay longer. We definitely recommend staying here. I would like to specifically mention Aileen, Rozana, Nathaniel and Shadar for making our stay memorable and comfortable.
