After reading so many bad reviews about the hotel i didnt expect much. But exactly the opposite happened. Checkin went fast, room was big and clean, the staff was helpful and friendly. The location and view from the top floor exceptional. You cross the street and you are on the beach where they provide complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. On our last day Vitoria allowed us to keep our room until evening at no extra cost, bcs our plane didnt leave until eight oclock. We definitely will be back on our next trip to Rio.

Muito bem localizado, com exceção de um bar/restaurante que fica em frente, mas eles param de fazer barulho às 22h30. Trabalhadores do hotel muito profissionais, prestativos e simpáticos. Café da manhã variado e satisfatório. Pretendo voltar.
O acesso ao estacionamento pela rua dos fundos hotel é deserto embora seja fechado. Também estranhei nessa hospedagem a cobrança do estacionamento sem aviso prévio na reserva. O restante foi bom. Gosto de me hospedar neste hotel.

Saya hanya mengira pancuran airnya lemah. Dan lorong itu berbau rokok yang menyengat.
Kolamnya sangat bagus, tapi sayangnya saya tidak bisa menggunakannya karena ramai.
Sarapan yang sangat enak! Restoran yang indah dan nyaman, dengan berbagai macam buah-buahan, roti, jus, dll. Agar sempurna, satu-satunya hal yang hilang adalah pilihan bagi mereka yang tidak toleran laktosa.

TTamuReally lovely hotel in a nice part of Rio. Staff are really friendly and helpful, especially as I speak English and everyone else is speaking Portuguese. The room was lovely and clean and the cleaners came here everyday to freshen up the room, put fresh towels in the bathroom and change the sheets. The pool was lovely and very quiet which made the experience much better. I didn’t have breakfast at the hotel very much but the one day that I did, there was a good variety of food. Can’t fault this hotel, very pleasant and would definitely stay here again.
PPranav Patil PI recently stayed at the Hotel Itajuba in Rio and had a generally positive experience. It's a solid choice for travelers looking for a well-located, large hotel with good value.
Location: The hotel's location is one of its biggest strengths. It is very well-connected to Rio's main attractions:
· Christ the Redeemer: Approximately 6km away. A taxi costs around 20 BRL and takes about 20 minutes (Christ the Redeemer ticket 128 BRL per person).
· Sugarloaf Mountain: Approximately 7km away. A taxi costs around 20 BRL and takes about 20 minutes (Ticket for sugarloaf is 195 BRL per person).
. From Airport (GIG): About 20km away. A taxi cost me 50-60 BRL and the journey took about an hour (depending on traffic).
There are also plenty of shops and restaurants for food and essentials in the immediate vicinity.
Room & Amenities: The hotel itself is a large, 15-floor building. The rooms are adequate, clean, and provide the basic necessities. However, a notable downside for some travelers will be the lack of tea and coffee making facilities (kettle) in the room. The breakfast is available and has a decent spread, but it has significant limitations for vegetarian.
Service: A standout feature was the exceptional service from the reception staff, specifically Marcos. They were incredibly helpful, provided excellent guidance for sightseeing, and were very kind and soft-spoken. Their assistance greatly improved my stay.
Important Note for Vegetarians: Warning for vegetarian travelers: Options are extremely limited. Both the hotel breakfast and the nearby food shops offer very few vegetarian choices. I highly recommend bringing or buying your own snacks and food to ensure you have suitable meals.
Considering the cost of taxis to attractions and the overall convenience, the hotel offers good value. The helpful staff adds significant value to the experience.
Hotel Itajuba is a good, practical base for exploring Rio's famous landmarks. Its great location and wonderfully helpful staff are major positives.
TTamuWe booked two rooms with the hotel: a junior suite and a standard. The suite was very spacious and opened up to the street. The windows did a good job of blocking sound so the street didn’t disturb our sleep at night. They had a parking garage that charges R$33 per day and was able to accommodate our Jeep Commander.
What is warranting this poor review was the hotel staff. Upon check-in they had informed us that one of our rooms wasn’t paid for even though i had already been charged by the booking agency. He said that we had opted for pay later and they hadn’t received the payment from the booking agency. I told them that my card had been charged by the booking agency but he insisted that it was likely a hold on the card to secure the room. I’d suggested to call the booking agency but he insisted that it wouldn’t be necessary (he didn’t seem worried so I assumed he had experience with this). Come to find that I was charged twice for this room and the booking agency has been trying to get in contact with the hotel for over a week with no response. This seems like FRAUD.
The second issue. Upon checkout of our suite, the lady checking us out requested a gratuity payment for the included breakfast… she estimated that based on the value of their breakfast that the suggested 10% gratuity would come out to R$180 per person. That would make their self-service breakfast be valued hire than Michelin restaurants in the area. She tried to ask the other party that was traveling with us but when I came closer she gave up. I’m wondering if this is hotel policy or if the staff at this hotel are actually running scams from the front desk.
I am still trying to get a hold of them about the double charge.
TTamuWe booked this hotel in Nov at an inflated price of $1500 USD for 4 nights assuming there'd be rooftop access on NYE since the hotel website didn't call out a ticketed event for that night. When we arrived, the staff told us it was in fact a ticketed event for an additional $300 USD. Perhaps our oversight but we scowered the website before booking at such a high price and it wasn't there. The manager was very helpful in accommodating a cancellation if needed, ultimately we were too tired to pack and unpack again and waste another day in transit so we stayed and bought the tickets.
Check in is 2pm. We arrived at 1pm and they said they had a room for us. It wasn't ready so we went to the pool where again, service was wonderful. Front desk gave us a tour of 2 rooms to choose from which was great, but then msgd me and said they'd have a diff room ready at 2:30. We went down at 3pm and the room changed yet again and the new room still wasn't ready. We got a room with no apologies at 4pm.
The room was standard. Strong cleaning smell but decent. The shower hose didn't stay in place. The shower drain did not work at all - we had to kick the water to the corner each time for it to drain or pools of water stayed until the next day. The sink also didn't drain. The toilet stopped flushing. We had a plate with one chocolate on it from NYE which by the next day was covered in ants. We are very tidy girls and give some grace for older hotels to have some flaws, but the experience for the price we paid made us appreciate the airbnbs we'd stayed at before checking in here.
Location is great, gym and pool are great, but not worth the $ for NYE or Carnival.

The first room I went into had a funny smell, so I reported it to reception. The male receptionist looked at me, and as if he doubted my word
After I insisted, he assigned me a new room, but it was left to me to move my luggage. . No support was offered and I couldn’t be bothered to ask.
I did ask if there would be any complimentary water put in the room. He said he would get housekeeping to put some water, but I’m still waiting two days later. 
Power outlets in the room are limited and not designed for modern travel. No USB points.
The TV is old and not smart or Internet connected. There are no cable channels so nearly all of the channels are local language apart from one CNN news channel in English..
The hotel is quite noisy and dogs. The walls are thin and guests scrape furniture across the marble floors. This is relatively easy to remedy if the hotel cared.
The rooftop pool was disappointing as it’s quite small and normally full of kids.
The restaurant is closed after breakfast. There is a bar, but it’s never open..
The biggest problem I had was the Internet. It did not work properly in my room and kept cutting out every few minutes. I had to stand in the corridor or come down to the lobby in order to get any decent coverage. I complained to the staff, but they did nothing and just told me it works.. This was extremely frustrating and I certainly wouldn’t come back to this hotel again.
PPengguna AnonimI booked JW Marriott Copacabana because, surprisingly, the price wasn’t much higher than nearby 3–4 star hotels. The location is truly premium, right on Copacabana Beach and the rooftop overlooks the entire beach, which is a huge plus.
My room faced the inside of the building, so I had to keep the curtains closed the whole time for privacy, which made the room quite dark. That said, the room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable.
Staff were generally nice, but everything felt quite slow check-in, check-out, room service requests, and even housekeeping. Breakfast was good in quality but exactly the same every day. Getting a table in the morning was also frustratingly slow; at one point around 10 people were waiting, and it took about 10 minutes just to be seated.
The rooftop views are amazing, but the design is honestly very awkward and outdated. The pool is at the back with almost no view, when it could easily have been a stunning infinity pool. The bar area felt cheap, and the thick glass panels and wide columns made it hard to enjoy the view or take good photos. The whole rooftop design felt very old-fashioned.
Overall, the hotel feels stuck in time. It’s a bit sad, because with such an incredible location, a modern renovation could easily make this one of the best hotels in the world. For the price I paid, I was still satisfied, but it definitely didn’t feel like a true luxury experience.
TTamuThis property has the potential to be amazing, but it needs a few key updates. The location is fabulous, the staff is excellent, and the restaurant is great both in terms of service and food quality.
The room was spacious, and the balcony was unbeatable. If you only speak English, you can get by staying here because all of the staff speak excellent English. We encountered a problem when the showerhead broke off, but the repairman came reasonably quickly to replace it, and he was very polite and not disruptive. We ordered room service, and Dom Rio, the hotel’s restaurant, delivered it quickly. I had the filet which was cooked properly to the correct temperature (medium rare). My fiancé had the alfredo pasta which she liked a lot. The breakfast had a huge selection, and everything tasted good.
The only thing keeping this hotel from earning top marks is the general state of much of the decor in the rooms. The curtains look shabby and dirty from moisture, and the wood of the cabinets is warped also. It is very hard to maintain a room that is constantly exposed to salt water and ocean breeze, but the materials chosen have not stood up to age.
I would recommend staying here if you are interested in staying in Barra at a nice but reasonably priced hotel, but don’t expect the finest luxury. Expect a very large, fairly clean room with a comfortable bed and an amazing view.
