The location is 10/10 because it’s near to imago shopping mall and there’s a lot of restaurants near there , and also dobi shop and 7-11. The sound proof is quite weak because I still can hear other customers talking during midnight. It can also clearly hear the sound of aeroplane crossing .

its near to the airport but nothin there. only a burger king & a mamak restaurant around. its ok if u just need a place to sleep like me. i had a very early morning flight so i had to call the receptionist for a very long time early in the morning to check out bcause he didnt woke up from the door bell. lol
the place is comfortable with a great environment, and there are convenience stores nearby for added ease. The staff provides excellent service as well.
The boss speaks Chinese. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the pier. Fortunately, Ctrip has an Internet phone that allows us to contact the boss for free due to the flight delay. We can inform the check-in time in advance, so we can check in at midnight. The family room can sleep 3 people, but there is only a bed, not even a chair to put clothes. I give it a good review because of the cheap price.

I have booked online and went, hotel is good for what you pay, very good location with walking distance to most of shops, night market and very happening place at night.
Good place for an overnight stay. Family room was very clean and comfortable. Parking wasn't a problem when we were there. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Overall recommended.

Switz Paradise Hotel is a budget-friendly stay located conveniently in the heart of Kota Kinabalu, making it ideal for travelers who want quick access to malls, eateries, and local attractions like the waterfront and Gaya Street Market. The rooms are basic but functional, with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and private bathrooms—suitable for short stays. While the location is a plus, some guests note issues like city noise at night, limited soundproofing, and modest cleanliness. Overall, it’s a good option for budget-conscious travelers who prioritize location over luxury.

LLimThe only reason I stayed here was because of it location near to the airport. Everything else is good in terms of experience except I was imposed with liability costing RM10 for soiling one piece of their towel. The soiling happened because I walked outside after the rain and my foot got into a mud spot. I came back to my room and I accidentally stepped on the towel. Bear in mind, I had to book their largest room meant for 4 pax because that was the only one available even though I stayed alone. Considering the occupancy is low for that large room, soiling one piece of towel does not justify a RM10 liability damage.
DDwaynismeI gave the room 3 stars because we booked a cabin twin and noticed a strange smell, possibly due to the room being too humid. It would be great if a dehumidifier could be added to improve the air quality.
The room was okay overall. It would be more comfortable if there was a small coffee table and some chairs for guests to sit outside the cabin and enjoy a hot drink, especially in cold weather.
The restaurant managed by the same team serves tasty food with generous portions at affordable prices—highly recommended. The room includes free breakfast, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and hardworking. They made sure the breakfast and hot water were always available for guests.
Last but not least, you can see Mount Kinabalu in the early morning. The view is truly stunning and a great way to start the day.
GGuest UserIt’s similar to hotels/guesthouses in China, and much simpler than domestic budget hotel chains such as Home Inns or GreenTree Inn. Hotels in Sabah generally feel two stars lower than those in China. The one I stayed in in Kota Kinabalu is owned by Marriott The Le Méridien hotel is also comparable to domestic All Seasons hotels, so don’t expect too much.
The sanitation is quite clean, and there are often people chanting sutras with loud speakers in the morning and evening... overall it's not bad.
It is two kilometers away from the pier and takes a taxi for 6-8RM. You can go to the seafood market to bargain for dragon knives, which is quite fun!
AAnonymous UserThis is the sort of place where the staff will always greet you with ”hello, sir/ma'am” whenever they see you. Nice swimming pool and very good food at the restaurant, even though slightly pricy at first (I guess it's fine being a resort), the portions are actually huge and very fresh. Try their lemon chicken on rice for 20 ringgit (February 2024). All you can eat breakfast included for free even with the dorm bed: fried noodles, a very thick pancake, fruit, British breakfast, beef sausages, coffee, juice, etc. Walk-in price is 80RM, cheaper here on Trip. The dorm looks exactly the same as the one I staid in Kinabatangan, which is always funny (same contractor?). Comfortable night, with a new AC and fan, specially so considering I had it all to myself since the other few guests they had had private accommodation. Dorm showers have plenty of hot water and are clean, but there's no soap or amenities beyond the towel they give you at check-in. Bring your own. The staff at the restaurant sometimes disappears for no reason in the middle of service, even if there's about 20 of them considering réception is right there. They helped me book a taxi to the airport (50 ringgit), since there's no grab available (spent 1h looking for one). Don't bother trying to get one, ask them to call a taxi for you, really. This resort is about 1km away from the three main things to do at sepilok. You will be walking on the side of the road to get anywhere since transportation options are scarce and expensive. Overall this is standard of service here in Borneo, so don't settle for less than this.
JJoo HongHad a wonderful night at this place. Beautiful place. Only negative is the kampung road, it is neglected and full of potholes. Need a 4WD for this road and up the steep road to the chalets
GGuest UserWe stayed couple of nights before driving back to KK. The place is located in the center with easy access to everything however it also means it can be quite loud at night from the traffic and karaoke next door. The room had little fridge, kettle, bottles of water and coffee mix (3 in 1).
Room was on the 3rd floor with no lift. This could be a problem for somebody with mobility issue.
SShahfiq09My recent stay at Hotel Aristo was nothing short of delightful. Nestled in a prime location, this distinguished establishment offers a harmonious blend of elegance, comfort, and refined service. From the moment I stepped into the tastefully designed lobby, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an atmosphere of quiet sophistication.
The room exuded understated luxury — impeccably clean, well-furnished, and designed with comfort in mind. The bedding was plush, the lighting ambient, and the bathroom featured premium toiletries alongside a refreshing rain shower. High-speed internet was readily available, making it an excellent choice for both leisure and business travelers.
Hotel Aristo’s location is strategically convenient, allowing easy access to key attractions, shopping districts, and fine dining options. The staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism and attention to detail, always ready to assist with a courteous smile.
For those in search of a hotel that combines affordable luxury with attentive service, Hotel Aristo is a commendable choice. I would gladly return and recommend it to discerning travelers seeking both comfort and class.
CChau Siau ChiiAttitude of the staff here is very nice, helpful & polite, especially front desk.
The bed sheet and floor are a bit dirty when i checked in. Always wet floor near toilet bowl area since day 1, does not dry up easily.
The sound insulation is not very good.
Every morning at 9am,house keeping can be your morning call / alarm. The impact of the cleaner when cleaning other places was very strong. The impact made me feel shaky while lying on the bed. It was incredible.
Overall 3.5/5
