The hotel is nice, from the station about 10 minutes walk almost in a straight line, wake up. The room was originally wrong, it was reserved for smokers, even though we don't smoke, the room was given the appropriate one, the smell in it was just not very good, like for those who don't smoke at all, it started already on the floor.But the staff, fortunately, were able to find us a replacement for a non-smoking room, yes, less, yes one big bed instead of two, but with stunning mountain views and a coffee machine. Saya menginap di hotel ini saat bepergian bersama teman-teman. Lokasinya sangat strategis, tepat di depan stasiun, dan ada minimarket di sebelah hotel. Fasilitas disediakan oleh DHC, dan tersedia pilihan teh dan kopi gratis di pintu masuk sehingga Anda bisa menikmati teh dan kopi sepuasnya. Saya pasti ingin menginap di sini lagi saat berkunjung ke Nagano.

📍 Hotel Keigetsu 信州昼神温泉郷 日長庵 桂月 @ Hirugami Onsen, Nagano 🇯🇵 We stayed 3D2N from 13 November 2025 at Hotel Keigetsu (日長庵 桂月), and it turned out to be one of the best choices for our Nakasendo trip. The ryokan sits in a peaceful corner of Hirugami Onsen, surrounded by nature and traditional Japanese charm. There is a designated parking area exclusively for guests, accommodating around 15-20 cars of all sizes, making it very convenient for self-drive travellers. We chose a Japanese-style room with a private bathroom, and the highlight was the beautiful wooden bathtub — perfect for a relaxing soak in complete privacy. In the mornings, the view from our room was calm and peaceful, with gentle bird chirping adding to the serene atmosphere. Our stay included breakfast and dinner, and both meals were exceptional. Each dish was beautifully prepared using seasonal ingredients, and the servers were patient and friendly, taking time to explain each course and share stories about local flavours. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced the dining experience. The ryokan is within walking distance to the Morning Market, just about 10 minutes away, making it an enjoyable little morning stroll. There is also a FamilyMart right beside the ryokan, just a short walk away — extremely convenient for drinks, snacks, or last-minute essentials during your stay. The staff also introduced several nearby activities and hiking trails, and the routes are super visitor-friendly, making this ryokan an ideal base for exploring the Nakasendo area. The onsen baths were another highlight — soothing, clean, and filled with Hirugami’s famously smooth, skin-friendly hot spring water. Perfect for unwinding every evening. Overall, Hotel Keigetsu offers excellent food, warm service, relaxing onsen, comfortable rooms, and unbeatable convenience, whether you’re here for onsen relaxation or the Nakasendo trail. Highly recommended for a peaceful, authentic, and memorable ryokan stay in Nagano. ♨️🍁🌿✨

Great Stay at Hotel Courtland, Matsumoto! Just wanted to drop a quick review for Hotel Courtland in Matsumoto—what a pleasant find! The location is absolutely fantastic. Seriously, it's about a 5-minute, worry-free walk from the station. This was a huge plus, especially since we had luggage; no need to struggle or look for a taxi. Adding to the value, the price at the time of booking was very cheap, making this a fantastic deal! As for the hotel itself, I have to say, it's exceptionally clean. Like, super clean. It made our stay feel very comfortable and relaxing. What really stood out was the amazing hospitality. We arrived after a 4-hour ride from Tokyo and were pretty frozen from the winter shock. The staff kindly offered us a free early check-in, which was incredibly thoughtful and exactly what we needed to warm up and refresh. It really saved the day! We didn't get a chance to try the breakfast this time, but based on everything else, I imagine it's great too. Highly recommend this hotel if you're ever in Matsumoto!

Saya melihat banyak pasangan lansia Jepang, sekelompok teman dekat, dan banyak mahasiswa mengunjungi hotel. Hotel ini cukup tua, dengan AC yang berderit dan beberapa nyamuk. Kulkasnya juga bermasalah; berfungsi dengan baik pada hari pertama, tetapi pada hari kedua, semua buah yang kami beli membeku. Kebersihannya cukup baik. Terlihat jelas bahwa mereka merawatnya dengan tekun. Selain pemandian air panas umum, ada dua pemandian air panas pribadi, Star dan Moon, yang dapat dipesan. Area lounge menawarkan oden gratis setiap sore, yang merupakan sentuhan yang menghangatkan hati. Sarapannya juga enak dan mengenyangkan. Nagano dan Shijiazhuang adalah kota kembar, dan tenis meja sangat populer di sini, dengan meja-meja yang tersedia untuk dimainkan di lounge. 位置在山頂，不太便利 不過自駕遊，也沒所謂 從成田機場開車到酒店4.5小時 Check in已是凌晨12點多 酒店職員下班了都為我們check in 但是下雪，雪地有山路是不開放的都沒有圍封 錯誤走進了，因為不開放的山路沒有剷雪 車比卡雪地了 好彩離酒店不遠 酒店職員很快幫我們拖車 酒店服務十分好，十分滿意 房間內有煮食爐、餐具 十分便利。 酒店外下雪景色太美了 都不想離開

Hotel Marroad is just a few minutes by the shuttle bus from the station , and it can also be reached on foot. We booked a room for 4 people and the room size is good at a very reasonable price (include breakfast). The fixtures are a bit old. However, the room and the amenities are very clean. We come to skiing and the hotel has a rental service (much cheaper than you rent at the ski field) which is very convenient. Also, they send us to ski field every day. Staff can speak little English, but they are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious, and it is a must try.

The hotel has a weird smell in the lift and lobby when you entered the building. Room wise is ok. staff are friendly and helpful. they offer drinks including alcoholic drinks till 8pm every night. Hotel breakfast is fresh and good. location is good as it is close to the JR station and the price is reasonable. but the hotel needs to improve the smell in the building. people who are budget conscious can go for this choice.
