Hotelnya cukup bagus, tepat di seberang jalan ada pantai, di lantai bawah ada kafe yang cukup bagus; kamarnya cukup luas. Stafnya ramah dan baik. Saya hanya menginap satu malam, jadi puas dengan semuanya.
Wanita yang tidak terlalu muda yang bekerja di pagi hari tampak cukup menarik bagi saya karena ketika saya mencari hotel, dia memeriksa ketersediaan kamar kosong dan hanya menyuruh saya pergi ke hotel lain, yang harganya tiga kali lipat lebih mahal daripada hotel ini. Benar-benar menikmati masa menginap kami di Dorsett. Resepsionis, khususnya Don, dan ”con”ciege sangat ramah. Hal-hal kecil seperti menyediakan air minum kemasan gratis sudah sangat menyenangkan. Akan lebih baik jika ada jubah mandi di area kolam renang, tetapi kolam renangnya tetap bagus. Tidak ada kursi santai di dalam air seperti yang ditunjukkan salah satu foto, tetapi anak-anak tetap menikmati kolam renang. Lokasi yang bagus dengan Pacific Fair di seberang jalan dan akses ke Star Hotel/Kasino juga bagus.

Lokasinya luar biasa... hanya berjalan kaki singkat ke Surfers Paradise dan Skypoint tepat di sebelahnya. Mudah diakses dari bandara karena halte trem berada tepat di sebelah Skypoint. Banyak pilihan kafe dan restoran. Kami tidak menggunakan kolam renang atau pusat kebugaran. Suara bising terdengar dari kamar karena dindingnya tipis. Proses check-in mudah... staf tidak banyak memberi tahu tentang fasilitas resor dan kami menemukan kata sandi WiFi berdasarkan stiker di dinding dapur. Balkon kamar kami menghadap ke kolam renang, yang sangat bagus.

Lokasi bagus dan pemandangan indah. Dengan segala sesuatu seperti pisau microwave, garpu, sendok, piring, cangkir, panci, panci di dapur dan gantungan besi mesin cuci dan pengering. Lebih baik tawarkan layanan pembersihan kamar setiap hari. 8 menit berjalan kaki ke kota, 1 menit berjalan kaki ke Woolworths terdekat, 10 menit berjalan kaki melintasi jembatan di samping hotel ke perpustakaan Queensland, galeri seni, galeri, museum, tanda Brisbane, tepi selatan, dan sebagainya

This hotel is centrally located on the esplanade, and this is its main plus. In everything else, in my view, it loses out to the Hilton , to which I moved after a few days. My room smelled to the extent it made me feel unwell. The two swimming pools they boast are a joke. In the first glass pool, you are fully exhibited to everyone on the esplanade, which is why no one swims. In the second one you can't swim if there's anyone else in the pool, it's that narrow. The spa is a private massage joint. I was given a parking spot with no remote the first day, and allowed to park as an exception - their parking is too small to accomidate a hotel of this size. It has no ev charging. The breakfast is nowhere as good as the Hiltons. In any case I fixed all these problems by moving.

Dated but well kept. Pool and BBQ although I didn't use them were a good facility. Location middle of Cairns meant I could walk everywhere easily and on the level.....even the airport was in my walking range at 5.4 km. Staff were excellent and the management Excellent and able to resolve all issues I had with onward travels and other countries online travel document requirements, which is so helpful to an older less technical traveller like me.👍 Mervyn

This is a hotel that up to standard - it may not be the best in the world but I believe it is one of the best in Cairns.
The location is a bit far - it take a good 15 mins walk to likely everywhere in Cairns city center. However it is one of the newest hotel in the town and could give you a good and fair service. The buildings in the hote and the pool is beautiful. When you walk around the town you will find all big brands hotel in the world but they all looks like historical buildings.

Comfortable hotel but not what I expected from 4-star.
Rooms not made up until after lunch. Just a small milk container in the fridge - no complimentary water that I'd expect at least.
Two double beds in the room. No comfortable chair. Bedside cabinet only on one side of the bed, so had to use a chair. Other rooms seemed better configured.
Most bedroom and cupboard doors sounded like they need oil. Some power points in the room were dead.
Faint smell of smoking in the room, though I appreciate that's hard for the hotel to overcome once someone has ignored the rules.

Everything about this hotel is exceptional. The only downside was the room that I was given was on the top floor and the noise from either some sort of pump or the outside unit of the air condition was so overwhelming that I couldn't sleep well all night.

CCristal SimonWe loved the location of this hotel. Close enough to the main strip to enjoy everything Surfers Paradise has to offer, but far enough away to avoid the constant noise, crowds, and parking chaos. The main area was extremely busy, so we quickly discovered that e-bikes were the best way to get around. Surfers Paradise itself was great: lively atmosphere, plenty of activity, shops open late, great food options, and lots of buskers.
We booked a two-bedroom apartment with a sea view, and it absolutely delivered in terms of view and location. The hotel facilities were excellent — indoor and outdoor pools, spa, sauna, steam room, gym, and tennis courts. Our teenagers especially enjoyed making the most of all these amenities.
However, there were some significant issues that impacted our stay. We were in apartment 26B and had no air-conditioning for the entire six-day stay, which was very difficult given it was summer. We also didn’t realise that reception is only staffed for limited hours. When we called early in the day and again around 4pm, no one was available. We eventually managed to speak to someone on day two or three, and the hotel manager came to assist, but unfortunately there was little he could do. We were told the compressor was likely failing, meaning the air-conditioning could not be used at all. It was frustrating to be sold a five-night stay knowing the apartment was not in full working order.
Cleanliness was another concern. The floors throughout the apartment were sticky and grimy, with the kitchen floor feeling particularly oily and unclean. One of our sons found the couch sticky to the touch, and there was hair present in the bathroom which was disappointing.
While we genuinely loved the hotel, its grounds, and its facilities, there is clear room for improvement in both cleanliness standards and customer service.
Additionally, we encountered an unpleasant interaction with a long-term resident who complained about our children playing in the pool with a small rubber ball, claiming it was against the rules, despite other children—including her own—jumping into the pool. Given it was the school holidays and many families were using the facilities appropriately, the complaint felt unreasonable. It was also mentioned to us that lower-floor residents occasionally complain about noise from pool users, which may be an ongoing issue when short-term stays are accommodated.
Overall, the property has great potential, but improvements in maintenance, cleanliness, and guest communication would significantly enhance the experience.

TTraveller354After reading very mixed reviews, we went ahead and booked it. The result: very mixed feelings.
The location was beautiful, the sights breathtaking, the animals adorable, but when it came to actually spending time there, there wasn’t much to do.
We arrived on a later ferry so we knew we wouldn’t have much time to enjoy the sun after arrival, however because of a mix up, our suitcases went missing for an hour making us miss any chance of getting in the pool while it was hot out.
After, we went for dinner. There are only 2 restaurants available, and without making a reservation before hand, it’s a bit hard to go when you want. The food was ok, but expensive as one would expect from a place like this. Once dinner was finished, the evening entertainment (Alice in Wonderland screening) was already underway and we found ourselves with nothing to do at 9pm.
Early night for us.
The following day we planned a day of snorkelling, stingray feeding and kayaking.
We appreciated the free snorkel gear as well as the clear safety instructions and recommendations of the lifeguard. The sting Ray feeding experience was amazing and it was clear the staff knew what they were talking about and were passionate about the animals.
Kayaking and other water sports were cancelled however because of the high winds, leaving us, once again, with nothing to do. Early dinner (very entertaining moment with wallabies attempting to steal our food and being super cuddly), a walk around the beach, movie in the room, and early bedtime.
So all in all, beautiful location with great experiences of the weather allow, make sure to bring some entertainment if the water is too cold to swim in the pool or the weather turns sour. Maybe a book or some board games?
Also: if you want food in the late afternoon, make sure you bring some snacks as there is a limited selection available.
