PPriyanka BajirajThe property and the ambience is lovely. The view from the restaurant garden is very pleasant and beautiful. The room size, bathroom size and amenities were good. We faced 1 major problem to be precise which made us a bit sore. Cleanliness - the room was clean except for the carpet. It didn’t feel like it was vacuumed. There was probably a pet staying in that room before us and there was a lot of hair on the carpet. I understand it is a pet friendly property and I have absolutely no problem with that. But cleaning the room properly before the next checkin is a basic expectation. We couldn’t step on the floor without our feet being covered with hair. Apart from that, everything else was very good. Breakfast was also good and the customer service was very polite and hospitable as well.

TTamuUpon arrival there was nobody at the front desk so I waited. The woman I was somewhat greated by was far from pleasant and didn’t seem like she wanted to be there at all. Nothing was explained and no information leaflet for me to read through in my own time. When given my room key I started walking through the lobby but couldn’t see any signs for my room number. Went back to the desk to ask where to go for my room and was told ‘just follow it round’. Very unhelpful and unwelcoming, not sure this lady should be at the face of the hotel. Plus side, room was beautiful and well kept/clean. I was also lake side so got to watch the sunrise with my morning cuppa. Very refreshing views.

TTamuThe Macdonald Old England Hotel is well situated, being just a stones throw from the lakeside and the shops in Bowness. The staff are friendly and obliging and the service matches their attitude. The breakfasts are fine, although the staff can sometimes be a bit slow in replenishing the tureens. We did not use the Spa, so we cannot comment on that. Overall, we found the hotel to have all the facilities that we were lookling for and we would be happy to stay there again.

TTamu酒店體驗相當差。當天四點多入住，給我們的房間，連前台接待自己都找不到，入住之後發現我們預訂的兩張雙人大床，而是一張雙人大床加兩張簡易單人床，去前台交涉，被告知客房已滿，第二關才有解決辦法。到晚上十點準備睡覺，發現其中一個簡易床有塌陷，翻開床單才發現少了三條木欄，再次去前台交涉，晚班經理表示自己衹是餐廳經理，衹能先給加床墊，第二天解決，結果第二天也衹是把簡易床換成鋼絲床，還不如前一晚的床墊。第二天晚上拿着不清理客房換的5鎊抵用券去一樓酒吧消費，點餐後發現買單價格和才到不一樣，經過確實，確實是酒吧價格系統有問題，但是吧枱服務生拿着菜單回來時，把菜單丟在我們邊上，遞餐時的表情也是相當不爽。虛偽的英式抱歉。這個酒店根本不值這個價錢。

TTamuAbsolutely amazing stay , as soon as we arrived everything was great and customer service was brilliant . They even upgraded us to a room with a hot tub for my husbands birthday. Spa was lovely and even on the checkout day can use it to 1pm which was a nice bonus. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent and so good only had to walk 30 seconds from our room. Will definitely be back to visit again!
