SStar Alliance frequent flyerI have requested a room in higher floor, far from lift. However I was allocated a room on 1st floor next to lift. The noise in the corridors is loud and some you can hear clearly in late night. Also you can see nothing through the window as it is a wall outside the window. The view is quite bad as you can’t see anything.
The location is good, close to Espanya underground station. Airport shuttle bus stop is outside hotel as well. A good restaurant is 1-min walk from hotel. The reception lady and gentleman are very good apart from one wearing glasses. Room service is done pretty well and it is clean. Shower water is hot and strong, which is good. Free luggage storage.

Setelah perjalanan 18 jam, kami sangat menghargai check-in lebih awal dan peningkatan kamar yang menyenangkan, itu adalah sambutan yang sempurna dan tepat seperti yang kami butuhkan. Lokasinya benar-benar ideal, terutama sebagai tempat menginap sebelum pelayaran, dan karena ini pertama kalinya kami di Barcelona, Ohla memberikan kesan yang baik untuk seluruh perjalanan kami.
Staf semuanya sangat ramah dan baik, membuat kami merasa seperti di rumah sejak awal. Cava dan cokelat yang menunggu di kamar kami adalah sentuhan yang manis dan penuh perhatian, tetapi yang paling menyentuh kami adalah catatan tulisan tangan yang mengucapkan selamat atas ulang tahun pernikahan kami, itu membuat momen tersebut semakin istimewa. Sarapan juga fantastis, dengan pilihan makanan lezat yang beragam. Saya harus memberikan pujian khusus untuk croissant mini, rasanya benar-benar luar biasa, meleleh di mulut setiap gigitannya!
Kami juga ingin secara khusus menyebutkan Fatima dari restoran, yang melakukan lebih dari yang diharapkan untuk memastikan pengalaman sarapan kami sempurna. Dia sangat ramah, tulus, dan penuh perhatian. Dia bahkan menyiapkan beberapa latte yang sangat enak untuk kami, yang membuat pagi kami semakin menyenangkan. Menakjubkan
TTamuSalah satu lokasi terbaik di Barcelona. Lokasinya berada di pusat banyak tempat wisata dan terdapat banyak restoran, kafe, dan toko di dekat hotel.
Kamarnya juga sangat bersih dan terawat. Area kolam renangnya juga sangat menenangkan dan stafnya sangat ramah, terutama seorang pria di bar.

KKimmyg43I had high hopes for this ”4star hotel”
From the pictures and the previous reviews everything seemed like it was too good to be true...
Arrival was average, had to ask which way to go to get to my allocated room (normally you are directed by a member of reception atleast)
Arrived at my room (104) 1st floor.
Opened the door to a bright airy room..my first thoughts were this is lovely.
Dropped my bags and took a shower and that's where things started to go downhill...let me explain...
Now I am aware this is not 5 star but if im being totally honest I have stayed in cleaner 2 star hotels...
The attention to detail from the cleaners is just way below par for a 4 star establishment.
Shower door covered in limescale (easy to put right with a bit of Elbow grease)
Mold and nasties around the outer edge of the shower door (see pics)
Splash marks all over the tiles at the side of the sink (like old toothpaste marks)
Sink wouldn't drain properly (seemed to be blocked)
Skirting boards definitely hadn't been given a wipe for a good few weeks/months
All standard/basic stuff that you would expect from any hotel and certainly from a 4 star one or am I being picky?
Then there was the call to reception to ask for some milk so I could make a coffee (kettle is provided in room)
Receptionist said they don't have fresh milk only 'powdered sachets' of the most vile tasting milk I've ever had (think baby milk/gone off normal milk)
Apparently the restaurant was closed so they could not access it to get some fresh milk?
Receptionist advised me to go to the supermarket..which is a 25 minute walk from the hotel 🤦♀️
As it happens there is a coffee machine outside the reception entrance so I found myself nipping downstairs to buy one from there. (Not the most convenient but we move forward)
I had read that there was a rooftop restaurant in the flyer as advertised but when I asked about it apparently it is no longer there?
The restaurant is only open at breakfast times so no food is available not even snacks? However they advertise room service so unsure how that works?
Outdoor pools closed which is fine but you couldn't even sit on the loungers hence....nowhere to sit outside the hotel itself.
Such a shame that all these little things build and in turn let it down as a 4 star advertised hotel.
Now for the positives...
The view from the room of the sea is beautiful
It is literally across the road from miles of sandy beaches
There are a couple of lovely restaurants nearby that are open from 12 noon for brunch/dinner and reasonably priced.
The area itself is super quiet and feels safe enough as a solo traveller.

TTamuThe check in experience was so horrible. After I presented my passport to the receptionists (3 guys) in hotel front desk, they kept requesting me to show the boarding pass of my cancelled flight. If i could not show it, they don’t allow me to check in. I argued with them why I have to show my boarding pass and how can I have boarding pass if my flight is cancelled. They insisted I have to show, otherwise I could not check in. Their attitudes were so rude and I spent almost 40 min to show all documents I have on-hand, then they gave me my room key. The room assigned to me is not so comfortable because it is on ground floor without window facing outside streets. I don’t think it is tourist friendly at all.

TTamuWe loved staying here, the African gentleman from guest services was exceptional and very professional and assisted us with all our requests, the room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was also wonderful as expected. We celebrated our anniversary here and they made our stay truly memorable.

Summary:
We had a short break in Barcelona this week and were looking for a clean, well-located room, and that’s exactly what we got. The Park Hotel was a pleasant surprise and definitely shouldn’t be judged by its facade—we were truly impressed.
Room:
Our room on the sixth floor was spacious for a city hotel and had all the amenities you’d expect. The bed was particularly comfortable, and the pillows were firm and supportive—none of those mushy, overly soft ones you often find in hotels. The bathroom was well-equipped, though it might be a bit tight for larger guests.
Cleanliness:
The room was cleaned regularly, and any requests we had were promptly addressed. The pool area was also well-maintained, and the shower room available on our departure day was spotless, making our stay even more comfortable.
Service:
The service was reasonable overall. The staff managed multiple tasks at once, and although they sometimes appeared a bit stressed, they were always prompt, polite, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.
Location:
The location is perfect for exploring Barcelona. It’s within easy walking distance of Barceloneta, Port Vell, and the El Born district. Plus, the hotel is directly opposite the train station, which made our day trip to Sitges incredibly convenient.
Facilities:
The hotel’s rooftop pool is a nice feature, with about 14 chairs available for sunbathing. The area gets busy in the mid-afternoon, especially when the summer sun is at its peak. The pool itself is a perfect size for a quick cool-down after exploring the city.
Food and Drink:
We had breakfast included with our booking, which offered all the basics you’d expect from a hotel breakfast. It was a good way to start the day and provided enough variety to fuel up before heading out.
Value for Money:
The Park Hotel offered excellent value for money, given its location, comfort, and amenities.
Tips/Recommendations:
This hotel is ideal if you enjoy a trendy food and cocktail scene combined with the bustling beach atmosphere. It’s a great base for exploring the best of what Barcelona has to offer.
We would definitely return to the Park Hotel on our next visit to Barcelona.
