The rooms are simply designed yet very comfortable. The hotel also offers traditional costume rentals for photos, which was a fun experience. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The owner helped us arrange a bus for sightseeing and even provided a free ride to the Pingyaogucheng Railway Station, despite it being quite far. The car was spacious and comfortable. To top it all off, I experienced my first snowfall here, making my stay even more magical. I highly recommend the Red Lantern Inn to anyone visiting Pingyao. The location is superb, and the surrounding attractions and food streets are within walking distance, making travel super convenient🚶♀️ The room is warm and elegant, the bedding is soft and skin-friendly, and I slept very well at night. The inn owner and staff are warm and hospitable, and they also provide super practical travel guides. Next time I come here, I will stay here again!

Place was very close to the train station, just walking distance. Didn't have a problem to find it looking at the photos in the website. The room was fine just for sleeping after arriving late at night. The woman at the front desk was very helpful even though she didn't speak English, she tried to help. the bathrooms needed more cleanliness. You can hear well the people on the next rooms when you book the budget rooms, Wich I don't mind for the price that I paid. Would probably not recommend those rooms to a lady. Other than than, great location next to the railway station.

She even went back to the train station to bring some food that another traveller had left behind! The hotel is really well located right next to the old city and train. A gorgeous accomodation which looks like a museum itself. The hosts are very friendly and extremely helpful. They respond to inquiries within minutes and guided us well through Pingyao. As cars aren't allowed to pass the gate to the ancient town, it was very convenient that they offered us a transport from the North gate to the accomodation for no extra charge! Our room was spacious, the beds were comfortable and there is an extremely nice outside area where one can try out the different vinegars and spirits produced by the hosts.

If you want to explore the ancient town of Pingyao, then this hotel is fantastic. It's 15mins away from the high speed railway. They pick up and drop out off outside the city. With the covid regulations in place, the hotel supported me through the process and helped me gain entry into the city. I was then collected and driven to the hotel. Check-in was smooth and the lady helped me to book tickets for the Pingyao theatre show at the same time. I received a free upgrade from a double room to a suite. All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a great experience.
