Unfortunately I had to discover later on, that there was a massive turd of **** neatly placed on the bedsheets, leaving a brown ring of wet sauce around it. Upon reclamation, the service desk replaced the bedsheet without further explanation, and let me stay in the same room despite the obvious smell and potential emotional damage : ) The paper in the bathroom was wrinkled from wetness and had a yellowish tint to it, which where it might have come from I will leave to imagination.
