We first visited this restaurant last year during our honeymoon and loved it so much that we were thrilled to return this year for our 1st anniversary. Once again, everything exceeded our expectations, the food, the service and the atmosphere were absolutely amazing! When we made our booking, we mentioned it was a special occasion, and they went above and beyond to make it memorable. At the end of the meal, they surprised us with a thoughtful dessert, just as they had during our honeymoon. The photos show the beautiful desserts from both visits, and it’s these small, personal touches that make this place truly stand out. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough, it’s become a special tradition for us. I found this spa on Google Maps while searching for a spa before my trip, and even though there are nearly 600 reviews, it has a rating of 5 stars. I was curious to see how amazing this spa is, so I went. I made a reservation via WhatsApp two days before I arrived. I'm not good at English or Indonesian, so it's great to be able to make a reservation with a translation app☺️ The reply was very polite and sent me a link to the location on Google Maps. It's a little way off the main road, but there's a sign, so you'll find it right away. Traditional Balinese Massage 60 minutes Rp270,000 (about 2,500 yen in Japanese yen) Tax and service charge not included If you book a 90-minute massage, you'll get a free flower bath or 15-minute massage! (I chose the 60-minute one due to time constraints) The menu includes not only massages, but also facials and packages. Aromatherapy oils were sold at the store. The corridor to the spa room is decorated with bougainvillea-like flowers hanging from above, which looks great in photos. The spa room and toilets are very clean, so I feel at ease. After actually receiving a massage, I can see why it is rated 5 stars. The massage was smooth, but with varying strengths and pressures, and no corners were cut. (At other spas, they often cut corners when you wake up after falling asleep lol) Even after a day, my body still felt light, and all the fatigue that had built up before arriving in Bali was blown away! Finally, the fact that you can take a shower in the spa room is a big plus ✨At many spas at this price, you get to dry off with a hot towel, but no shower, so I don't think you'll find a service like this very often. After the massage, we were given tea and fruit. I think that compatibility with the therapist is more important than word of mouth when it comes to massages, but this was by far the best I've been to recently!! I went back to Bali for the first time in about 10 years, and it was shocking to see some things that hadn't changed and some that had! The airport was incredibly beautiful, and a large bridge was built to help avoid traffic jams. The nasi goreng I had at Cafe Wayan in Ubud was as amazing as ever! Delicious!! The location is along the Monkey Forest, but it's wide all the way to the back, so you can really feel the Ubud vibe. The toilets are clean, too! I also went to the Starbucks in Ubud that I've seen on Instagram recently. It was raining, but it was still nice. My friend and I were talking about how we could stay there for hours. 3 nights 4 days Bali trip Day 1 Kuta Because I arrived in Bali on a late flight on the first day, I booked a cheap accommodation near the airport. I had food delivered by Grab and looked around the convenience store for a while! Day 2 Kuta Ubud I moved my accommodation, left my luggage, and left for Ubud. Bali is mostly a two-lane road, so please move with plenty of time when you move. The schedule was Alasharum -> Ubud Art Market, but I don't think you necessarily need to include a day tour ^.^ If you're going to do Bali Swing at Alasharum, definitely... Not only did we learn how to cook a variety of traditional Balinese and Indonesian dishes, but we also had the opportunity to meet and interact with fellow travellers from all over the world, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Subak Cooking Class was incredibly well-organised. The local chef walked us through each step with clear, engaging instructions and took the time to explain every ingredient we used. Although it was a fairly large group, he had several assistants who offered support throughout the session, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Some of the dishes we made included Sate Lilit, a Balinese-style satay made with minced meat and spices, and Tempe Goreng, a crispy fried soybean cake that's a local favourite. Cooking these dishes from scratch gave us a deeper appreciation of Balinese cuisine—and tasting our creations was the perfect reward.
