This was a private tour with just my group, so there's a chance we could have done a little more. Sorry...
Arrived in Indonesia at 11:00 PM on a late-night flight!
Since there wasn't much to do and all the stores were closed, I slept at the airport until 2:00 AM. 🥹
The transfer arrived and we were finally on our way! Since I hadn't bought any water, the guide stopped by a convenience store for me!
But!!! Something happened here! 😭 Credit cards weren't accepted anywhere. Everyone, make sure you bring cash! I didn't have a single yen in cash, so I couldn't buy anything. The guide bought it for me! Thank you so much! 😊
Even before we reached the base of the mountain, the atmosphere was eerie. It was a glimpse of the jungle, a cityscape you won't see in Japan. The road was unpaved, and the car tilted at a 30-degree angle. Driving through the darkness felt like entering the world of Indiana Jones! It was already exciting!
Arriving at the base, a dark mountain awaited! Dressed like a complete beginner, I set off without proper equipment!
A nighttime jungle experience you'd never experience in Japan. While navigating the dense trees, I encountered a snake whose bite would kill you in 40 minutes. 🐍 We reached the summit accompanied by stray cats and dogs who followed me around like companions! It was cloudy, so we couldn't see the stars, but turning off the lights and looking at the mountains gave me a sense of "nature" like never before. Our guide, Jamil, was knowledgeable and shared a variety of mountain-related knowledge with us. I wonder what would have happened if he hadn't told me about the snake that kills in 40 minutes...
We reached the summit 10 minutes before sunrise. A guide, as expected. The time was perfectly planned and it was amazing! 💯 They even took us to a private, quiet spot with a beautiful sunrise view, completely deserted. Watching the sunrise while sipping hot tea in a noiseless space was simply breathtaking. It's hard to put into words how beautiful it was. The surrounding mountains, the beautiful sea of clouds hanging over them, the soft warmth of the sunlight filtering through, and the refreshing breeze blowing through our hair made it feel like it'd been ages since we'd last seen such a magnificent view.
We also learned about and experienced a variety of things, including volcano-specific knowledge and experiences, mountain history, and tourist spots. We left the mountain feeling very satisfied.
Next up was the hot springs! Wow, they really soothed our super-tired bodies!
After soaking in the natural hot springs unique to Indonesia, we headed to a fruit market!
Even though we had no cash and couldn't buy anything, the locals greeted us with smiles and no complaints, truly experiencing the warmth of the Indonesian people.
Enjoy local cuisine at the cafe! I had the bahwan! It was absolutely delicious! If you go, be sure to try it!
I was so satisfied with everything that I fell asleep in the car, and before I knew it, we were back at the hotel (lol).
It was a truly satisfying tour!! I'm so sad I couldn't give a tip. 😢
You should definitely go too!
Jamil and Risky!! Thank you so much! It was amazing!!!
