Love this restaurant that serve a lot of western food. There are two floors. A banqueting place is specially prepared on the upper floor which can accommodate approximately 20 adult family members. Usually this place is a hot spot for foodies and couples and families. Have a wide selection of local and western cuisine as well as a few choices of cakes. The lamb shank is good, nice marination. But they serve with a whole lot of mash potatoes underneath I do not know for what. We also ordered crazy chocolate milkshake, it is so nice and sweet. The toilet are clean, they even have Muslims prayer room. Antong Coffee Factory is the oldest coffee mill in Malaysia. The entrance was nicely decorated with a gigantic Antong coffee cup, old grandpa's bicycle, wall paintings and some tables. You can see some old trees next to a heritage yellow colour building. It has a showroom that features the history of the brand, process of making coffee beans, and also their products. Other than their signature charcoal roasted coffee, I recommend to buy the white coffee, very fragrant, rich and smooth to drink. I've visited this zoo a few times already and it never seems to bore me and my kids. This time i can see they are doing a lot of maintenance work to improve visitors' experiences. So of course this is another reason for me to revisit this zoo in few more months. This zoo is pretty huge, so make sure that you wear proper clothes. There are kiosk that sell snack and drinks inside the zoo. There are also trams if you dont want to explore this zoo on foot. I forgot to take pictures at the ticket counter but the ticket price is very affordable. The price for me, husband and our two kids only cost us RM48. The parking space around this zoo is huge as this zoo located around Taman Tasik Taiping. After your visit to the zoo, you can just chill around the park while watching your kids play at the playground. I'm sure going to visit this zoo again in near future.

Taiping Mall is adjacent to Novotel Taiping Hotel. It is quieter than other shopping malls. There were some interesting shops selling toys, clothes, luggage, backpacks, and Chinese New Year hampers. A Cherry Bakery, a Marybrown fast food chain and Pacific Mall. Quite a good option to enjoy Aircon in hot weather. For kids, they may find it fun to be here because of the play areas and rides. One of the best free things to do is visiting parks. Spritzer is a well-known mineral water brand in Malaysia. The Eco Park is just next to their headquarters, very well maintained. There are 18-hole Mini Golf courses, cafe, rare rocks, tree tag walkabout, love locks corner, creative recycled bottles decorations and more. Please be aware of wild monkeys, they could be aggressive. There is a convenient stall selling drinks, snacks and souvenirs, must get a Spritzer drink if you happen to be there. Ample parking space. This place is so good, suitable together with friends or family.The air was very clear, they have a museum record the history of Spritzer. The Perak Museum is a public museum located at the junction of Jalan Muzium and Jalan Taming Sari in Taiping, Perak, Malaysia. It is the oldest museum in Malaysia and highlights the history of the state. Very cheap entry with many informative display. Spacious, air conditioned and clean. Can spend a good hour (or more) learning. Love the animal display. I didn't expect a high standard for a small town like this. Hope more people will make it a point to visit so they can keep this going. There's some antique cars and boat display outside. There's a small children's playground that seemed decent (apart from the broken swing) No full stars rating because there was a children's corner but nothing was there. And there wasn't any soap in the ladies toilet. The toilet also has be flushed "creatively ". I don't know why this seem to be a common thing with Malaysian spots. The Christmas decorations here are so beautiful, especially the outdoor plastic transparent bubble tent. There were tiny Christmas trees and a bench inside, but due to the hot weather, we couldn't stay too long inside. I was thrilled to see the Santa Claus and reindeer carriage ride. Looks so real. This is my first time visiting a mushroom farm. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about planting mushrooms. She shared with us the whole process from preparation of soil until harvesting. There were so many types of mushrooms, even a pink oyster mushroom, "ling zhi' and rare tiger milk mushrooms. They also sell fresh and dried mushrooms and mushroom products. The ticket price was only RM3, inclusive of a guided tour and complimentary black fungus drink (so tasty). It's unbelievably cheap. Highly recommended. Please avoid visiting during lunch hours (12pm to 2pm). The front gate was closed and you may have to wait in the car under the hot sun. It was so nice to walk around Taiping Zoo. I like the African Savanna the most. Those Giraffes, Zebras, and Elephants were impressive. Upon entrance, I highly recommend to take the tram ride to go one round in the Zoo. This ride will cover all animals and almost all sections. Later, you may walk to the places you want to explore more. There are snacks and ice cream stalls in the Zoo. Must try the Cookies Ice Cream (RM8) and Jumbo Hotdog (RM4), delicious. For kids, there is a playground, even though a bit run down, but still ok and safe to play. If you like to see the animals at night, they have combo tickets for Night Safari, just add a few dollars only. Worth visiting. ATV ADVENTURE PARK LARUT The tour was amazing!! Our tour guide, Will, was very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this tour. It turned out to be fun and exciting. I felt dangerous as the paths were so near to slopes and one wrong move I will be down at bottom of the hill. Facilitator was always ensuring our safety. Overall it was a great experience for us and a great weather for this activity. The trail are challenging at some part and most of them flooded with water after rain which make it more fun to ride. We stopped by a waterfall for 15 mins to enjoy before heading back to the base. The guides are helpful and taken great care of us along the journey. A few months ago, I brought my two kids to a leadership and personal development camp at Taiping Bamboo Resort near Taiping Lake Gardens. Nestled in nature, the resort is truly beautiful, with flowing rivers perfect for swimming, fruit trees scattered around the grounds, and a barbecue area that makes it ideal not just for family outings but also for corporate events. The entire place is well-kept, with clean air-conditioned chalets and tidy bathrooms, while those who prefer the outdoors can even opt for tent stays. My kids had an amazing time — not only enjoying the activities, but also learning valuable lessons from the older participants. The camp itself was organized by a choir team from a Chinese school in Setiawan. We joined at the last minute since I wanted to bring my kids somewhere meaningful during the term break, and I’m so glad we did. Overall, Taiping Bamboo Resort is a wonderful spot, reasonably priced, and definitely worth recommending.
